  1. The more I think about this the more it feels off, (I cant believe this myself but I agree with Trixxie) I would rather pay for a expansion than what we are getting in 7.0, the work that as gone into this could have been better going into more Dev time for 7.0. This is a cash grab and wile i know people will cough up for this I do feel that after a delayed release of 7.0 this is the last thing BW sould be pushing.
  2. Good for you! Really the truth is, it's just a game. Its ment to be fun people get so "stressed" over different aspects of SWTOR that it really dose stop being fun. I count myself in that group sometimes, but the truth is its better playing something you enjoy over something that is "work" Sometimes its better to stop and ask yourself why your not enjoying the game, sometimes it can just mean you change a class or playstyle never be scard to try new classes ones you dont enjoy dont play. Am glad you seem to have found a perfect fit, remember to take things slow and at your own pace and remember things are NEVER as bad as they seem.
  3. Ill pass as well, everything just seems a bit meh. Maby some of the effort gone into this might have been better served with in game items. Seems very much like a cash grab
  4. I think we need to brake down what we mean by mods, to me mods are player made add-ons that make a game playable (am thinking of VTmB Unofficial Patch) (fantastic game btw) Single player games that have mods tend to live longer as most of the mods are bug fixes or balancing patches. So I support mods like this. Add ons via cursed CAN be good, something simple like "tell me when" Or bigger add ons like "DBM" can help when it comes to raiding, but I dont like the idea of being forced into downloading a mod just to stay competative say a DPS add-on for Sorc as there very underpowerd in that moment. I think like most things, a "to much of a good thing" approach is best. WoW got silly you needed add-ons for your add-ons
  5. Hey. I have rheumatoid arthritis and I also suffer with ASD So I know a little of how your fealing about 7.0. Let me say right of the bat DONT PANIC, there a few issues that ill get to to try and put your mind at ease. 7.0 and (in a Dramatic Voice) AND THE END OF THE WORLD Am sure at some point you have read (what I call) the end of the world posts, how 7.0 is going to come into your home and pull out your eyebrows 1 by 1 untill you scream if you dont join the hate, all mmo forums are like this when things change and people dont like it.. It's not the end of the world and for 99% of the content you will be doing 7.0 wont be that much of a change. Yes you may feel weaker in some fights but thats perfectly normal for the beginning of a new expansion. Take it slow and enjoy the game experance As a solo player myself, I find myself saying the classic (oh one more mission) the best advise I can give you is SLOW down, if you find a mission hard or you find yourself in a panic ( I do alot ) its always down to the fact am tired or am overplaying, one of the bigest challanges is not always the game, but knowing when to just turn off and come back later. One of the hardests fights for me is And ill keep doing it untill I beat the fight, till I get angry and frustrated. But now I just get up and put it down and come back the next day and wonder why am not buffed or my companion is set wrong then I do it again and 1 shot it, I was to focused on beating the fight I was missing a buff or something dumb that I just overlooked. Taking a brake even for a hour just to relax means my hands dont hurt as much and I can refocus. Focus on gear to much In MMO gaming theres a focus on gear to the point where people convince themselves that if they don't have the best gear "it can't be done" Its just not true, for story mode content even just having basic green gear is more than enough to do all the content, feeling the need to get the "best" gear is often a crutch, am not going to tell you to "get better bro" or some other nonsence, but with people that suffer with anxiety myself also, my brain tells me something like "Oh don't bother you will fail and because of your hands you cant do it" when in truth I can but low confidence and the fear of failing always tells me not to try. The only way to beat that IS TO TRY. Its never as bad as you think Anxiety is a usefull tool sometimes, but in gaming its never useful. There a lot of solo players on swtor that play solo for lots of different reasons, some people (like myself) have social phobias or there people that convince themselves that there not worth playing with or convince themselves there just to bad at the game. None of them are true, next time your doing a mission see how meny people are in that zone and Just say HI! the worst that will happen is no one talks back and your no worse off. Just think you may find someone just like you who wants a friend to play missions with, someone who you can help and in return they can then help you.
  6. I agree BW sould comment, they won't however. Thing is let's say, BW agree with your list and they comment saying as much, you will get someone else going "oh and you can fix pvp balance" on the face of it a good thing to ask for, then someone asks for better class balance, then someone asks for clipping on items to be fixed and on and on and on till at somone asks " wile your at it can we PLEASE at long last get wearable duck helmets" then we desend into madness. My point being wile people can agree 7.0 is going to be different shades of bad, what they disagree on are the details. IF BW do comment, they open up a can of worms people asking for different things and rather than a delay 7.0 by a month or two, it's delayed till January 36 2193 at what point people STILL can't agree on what needs to fixed first. In truth wile I don't agree 7.0 is going to be as bad as people say ( it rarely is on game forums ) BW souldhave a idea on what there target placebase wants, I want more end game content. Stuff like, raids, better end game pvp (no more lag), flashpoints and gear to be rewards based on the content your doing, NM mode players sould get higher item lvl then story mode, Ranked area sould give better rewards then reg's, but if the game is made up of story mode players there going to hate that BW sould know this. My argument is if the player base is split 50/50 or even 60/40 sometimes you have to give the minority player base something to enjoy, that way more people join the game that want that content, sure people are going to get upset sometimes, but if you bring say ranked area back in a big way and you give them nice shiny things to win who then get to show it off to there mates, more people that love pvp will join subs go up and the game is better for it. I love story content, I enjoy playing seeing where we go next, who is the next big bad for both sides imp and repubs I wanna know what Malgus is upto next, what cool new outfits my Jedi can use, I may even pluck up the curage to try out a flashpoint when I feel brave, But I also love watching people with Ops mounts & titles, the guys and girls that do put the time and effort into getting that really cool effect on there lightsaber from pvp, I just think they need some love sometimes. My long winded point is sometimes you CAN'T please everyone, 7.0 is going to make someone angry, sure they may leave and unsub. but if 7.0 brings back more ops players or pvpers or even story mode players then its worth it.
  7. what we have here is failure to communicate, Some player bases you just can't reach. (sorry I kinda had to) Wile I don't agree with it, I understand why BW don't speak out, lets me honest what could they say at this point? Nothing other than we are cancelling 7.0 would appease the mob. Wiile I don't agree with the mass panic a lot of the vocal people on the forums have at the moment, You cant deny it isnt there. I do think 7.0 will be a big change and that can be upsetting and very strange for people (myself included) and I understand the anger people have. I do think the only real course of action now is to "wait and see" we have a outdated version on the PTR, the infomation that is available is also out of date at this point, we could be arguing over things that have changed, we just don't know.
  8. Am not sure if this is the right place to post, so if it isnt feel free to close it and ill repost it in the correct place. Am looking to recrate Meetra Surik robes found in this picture https://swtorista.com/articles/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/echoes-of-oblivion-characters-_0004_Screenshot-2950-728x410.jpg am not really sure where to start any helpfull tips would be welcome.
  9. I swere it wasn't me! but for the recorde I didnt have a issue with it, it was a bit of fun... On topic. I understand peoples anxiety, I just don't share it (yet) if it turns out to be as bad as people say then am happy to post asking for change, but I really do think after people have got used to the changes it will be ok.
  10. Well, this is where I bow out, you can't talk to people who are convinced the world will end, Ill leave you with words of wisdom
  11. So, just so I understand. BW are on purpose going to sabotage there big cash cow make everyone leave and your saying am crazy? Everyone agrees BW are going to milk this game for every penny and pound, so why kill it now? they could have killed it long before, when there was a smaller player base for one, why go though making 7.0? Its not wishfull thinking, BW will do whats best to make them money, thats what its all about that dollor, so in a COVID world where development time is at a premium, is it any shock there "slowing" the game down? why is that do you think, to give themselfs breathing room to make new content. You crying doom and wanting to jump ship, I happen to think BW will do whats best for them and its in there best intrests to make the game fun and welcoming for all, trust me it isnt a shock BW is doing this now. Truth is WoW is dead, FFXIV is crushing it right now, BW want a slice of the pie, so they will see what works on FFXIV and try and make it work here. So is it any shock there building a platform to work from, remove skill bloat give players more choice on building there toons, if you look at what there doing its not hard to understand why. Will it work? lets wait and see dont start crying before 7.0 is out a lot can happen between now and then.
  12. This is my point, theres more than enough boosts to get even the most lazy players to finish content. but my argument all the boosts take something away for me, I am ment to be scard of the emperor hes all powerfull, I killed him in 3 hits........ see my point (jedi knight) Ill try and brake this down so am hoping you can understand my PoV better. I play vet as much as I can but I never do master, why? I want to have fun. Fun for me is beleaving Vaylin can kill my jedi if I don't at least put some effort in, but at the same time I don't want to bang my head agenst a wall for 8 hours trying to beat her. The way I see swtor at the moment is like watching the movies and luke beating Darth Vader with a pool noodle in 3 hits its just not believable. I want to be scard of Vaylin not indiffrent. I agree 100% with you here, but like I have said before we are still aways off from release and it might get pushed back again, hold on till 7.0 is out if its unbalanced still Ill be with you arguing for better balance, but remember they are removing skills and gear will change so give them some time to do a few balance patches. Again I agree to a point, there trying to make things as simple as they can to balance them, a class with 3 skills is easer to balance then 30, that being said I recamend you stick around, as once things ARE balanced am 1000% sure new skills and set bonus will come out, Yes it will feal odd to start with but your mara will be better than ever just give them time.
  13. I play veteran only, but remember we are in a stagnant stage of the game, I would argue most peoples "main" as done veteran mode at least, but when it comes to lvling alts for the sake of crafting or blasting though that trooper story you still havent done Abaddon  to get the legandery player, getting a datacron and then blasting on story mode is the quicket way of getting that achievement done. so you have your main doing the harder stuff and your alts doing the easy stuff you, thats 7 alts and your main ofc that going to be low.
  14. Am really confused at the moment and am hoping someone can help me out. My aim was to make a sith mara lvl her up before 7.0 then pick assassin as my advanced class can I still do this? or Do I have to make a new toon when 7.0 kicks off to do that, I hate the assassins companions and much prefer the mara class story and companions.
  15. I was replaying to this My argument is story mode content is to easy, if you say use a master datacron at lvl one, you have maxed toon and gear to 70, everything up till that point is pointless sure you can change the skill level but even then its still not much harder. Gearing new toons at this point is like starting a lvl 1 in full gear, add in xp boosts and heroic quest gear (you can solo them now) there is no challange no matter how you play your new toon. what am more focused on is that 75 to 80 bracket, end game story content is ment to be harder than something you did at level 4, but at the moment its not, now if your telling me that due to the gear / skill change that no class will be able to do story mode at 75/80 then am sorry your overeacting. Classes sould be balanced around the hardest content NM ops if all classes are viable then theres no issue (this isnt always the case however) So in truth what am saying is by backet your fav class sould be balanced, so your in 326 ilvl gear your class sould finish all story content, however if it can't then BW need to fix that. if your in end game ops gear and your dps is to low then I agree that needs a fix, but don't go overborde. If you fail at the first try get better and see where you can improve, if nothing you try works then by all means rant and raave about balance till they listen. But at the same time don't go OTT and dumb everything down to the point where watching a tv show is better experance than playing the game. As I have said I don't use the PTS look back to see why, but am more than happy to wait and see till its live.....Why? things can change at any moment, BW might not be finished on there balancing passes yet so untill its live....Keep calm and when its live if its as bad as people say, THEN you can tell them as there as been a mistake. But may I ask how do you define "challenging" is it had to wait a hole 1 sec longer to kill a mob or that mob just 1 shot me with all my def up.
  16. See 90% of this I can get behind, I understand this argument and in part I agree with it. however what your talking about in the symptoms of being solely focused on the "single player" aspect of the game. Crafting is pointless as it was made super easy to lvl and gear alts who can make the things you want, people can then charge what they want due to the fact they only need the credits. New players get screwed as now stims cost 3 million for 5 so what you have is a player base that dosn't want things to change as they have all the power in game. A new player will leave after a few weeks / months as the time to get to where 99% of the player base are is totaly insane. As for the raiding argument, what you said is true. However, unlike when a game first comes out new raiders (like myself) won't raid after a few bad experances and trying to "catch up" with the current raiders feels like it is impossible, so unless you bring people down to the same level and then move forword raiding where you wont have such a gear / level devide, new raiders can join new raiding guilds who will let players get used to content they have never done, your bringing the player rather than the gear. I understand the frustration here, but look at it from my point of view, 90% of the old story content is pointless, you can sleep walk you way though the game to the point where you can watch a show wile playing (watching Bones at the moment) theres no effort, it feels like a chore to get though to the new stuff, by making it even a little harder means I might even have to pay attention what am doing rather than just hitting 1234 over and over. Just coz your weaker dosn't mean its a bad thing people get enjoyment out of a challance.
  17. It matters as I want to understand WHY you think it's going to be utter rubbish what makes you think that? I ask your experience, not game time there is a difference. At that time did you raid in a wow & swtor? If so, your progress are you experiencing 1% of the game or a 100% You're partly correct, I was here just as the beta ended then played till the rise of the hutt cartel, left after bw "free expansion" turned out not to be free, went back to wow to raid with a mythic progression guild for a number of years, but I never really left kept my toons ticking over. However, you raise a good point that is what 99% of story based players do, if there is no new content they leave and you want to cater to them MORE? I don't and won't test on the PTR for a few reasons. 1 it always changes, you can't get a feel for anything as it always changes when they add or remove things. Let's be truthful the PTR is only really there to fix bugs and glitches anyway, no gaming company since the dawn of time as ever gone "oh yeah Darth Jimmys totally right lets change this" No it never did. 2 Put ten people in a room on the PTR 5 hours later they're trying to kill each other to prove what THEY want is right your never going to make everyone happy all the time, put in green hats people want blue hats. Why is it always doom, doom, doom with you people? I have seen bad expansion launch (as flashbacks back to Cata,WoD and BoA) don't assume for one moment that as am arguing against you that I don't know what am talking about, I understand your points of view, however for every one person like you there's 10 people that don't post on the forums (I don't normally) that are perfectly happy and are just waiting, don't think for a moment that just because YOU and a vocal minority (on the forums) doesn't want this that EVERYONE doesn't want it. I really don't think you can see the wood for the trees, skill bloat is a issue in a lot of games, over the years more and more skills get added, till you need 10 bars all keybinded and 3 hands, removing skills CAN be a good thing, it will give them a base to balance from think long term, over time be it months or years they can add in new skills slowly to keep the game balanced, pvpers have been begging for balance for years and sometimes you need to remove things to add in new things later. What you seem not to understand yourself, for the first time in years the power creep will be dead, YES classes will be weaker YES, you will have to put in a little more effort than now, you can't tell me you enjoy killing the emperor in 4 hits as you so totally overpowered? You're looking at a work of art from a microscope and yelling that the 3% of what you can see is "utter rubbish" but you're not looking at the FULL picture, your treating 7.0 as the full explanation, its not its just the beginning, over time it will change and grow BW know their player base, they will have more data than you and me on who is doing what. If people are giving feedback and BW are doing nothing about it, then there is a bigger plan at work. You need to remember, BW will have this planned out from start to finish, sure they might cave two weeks into 7.0 and admit you are all right (I don't think you are) again people need to see 7.0 live and after one or two content patches to see where 7.0 is going. Your basically chucking the baby out with the bath water due to the fact you don't like like the bath. If that's the case so be it, you can sit there and stroke your ego and tell the 2nd to last guy out the door you was right all along, or you can admit that you might be wrong and just wait and play it with a open mind, try the new content enjoy the new changes and see them as challenges to be overcome meet new people and enjoy a part of the game you never thought you would. What you see as "utter rubbish" I see as a base to build up from, removing the dead wood to add in new things, not all of it will work, but you have to give them room to try new things. The truth is we will never agree, you see things one way I see things another, you're so convinced your right, 7.0 could be the best thing ever, but you would never see it, you won't allow yourself to see it. At least I have hope that it might be good I would rather live in a world where I might be wrong and have hope it will work than see everything new and different as evil and "utter rubbish". What you want is a game made FOR YOU not for other people you don't want the game to change not that you're worried about subs or the game itself but it was changing how YOU play, I keep saying am a solo player I want solo content but am not so focused on myself that I don't want more diverse content.
  18. I only bring wow ( vanilla to wotlk ) up to show what happens when multiple parts of a game work togeather, when you neglect one or more aspects of the game it falls like a house of cards, thats where swtor is now. See this is what Ill never understand, when your in this odd limbo of not being one thing or another you leave out a part of your playerbase, if BW said tomorrow there ONLY focusing on SP content I could get behind that, am a solo player myself. As there is very little at end game BW is maing other aspects of the game longer to keep players subbed and playing, with out players its dead. I agree with 90% of what you said, I would argue that a good way to end a story segment would be with a flashpoint or ops, but I agree it would need to be done in such a way it did't leave you hanging if you didn't do that content, you sould NEVER be forced into a ops or flashpoint or pvp or anything to finish content only to expand on it or as another means of finishing a area, yavin 4 springs to mind. Alot of gated content is used as a time sink, most of the time this is bad. But for swtor it's needed to keep things moving due to the lower player base numbers and player retention numbers, BW use gated content to keep subs flowing. I agree with the rest to a point however, story mode flashpoints (if used correctly) can be a good mode to keep the story moving and give players who are scared of group content a way to dip there toes in, but in the manner your talking about however I agree thats just bad. My aim here isn't to bash solo players (am one of them) but to show that group content in a MMO is needed, you can find a balance and both aspects of the game can and sould be treated fair. But Ill never understand this (I want the best stuff on day 1 point of view) Just like playing the story your toon can and sould be free to progress, you sould have all the doors open to you, never closed. I don't see this new system as a bad thing, just the start of something new, remember all good things need to start somewhere, am sure as 7.0 progresses, more and more things for all players will be added, throwing your toys out of the pram at this point when you have 10% of the picture seems silly.
  19. You see I disagree, look at historicly the one of most successful MMO's out there, wow. go back to the start what made wow fantastic, was communaty cooperation and end game raiding. what the wow devs realised early on was that you needed a chain of events to make each part of there game to grow and not only that the players needed to be on borde. Early wow caterd to everyone, singplayer questers, crafters, achev hunters, dungons and raiders everyone. everyone in a symbiotic relationship. Now take swtor..... Everyone can agree crafting is pointless, apart from a few things ( that your alt can make ) crafting is dead, singleplayer content is the focus NOT down to the devs, but down to the playerbase being so small, flashpoints are a joke and very easy to do (down to the fact healers / tanks are not needed) so you see BW focused on story mode for so long as it was to keep the game alive. But to use your argument once you have done the story most players just quit till more story comes along. swtor isnt growing its slowly resting in a shallow grave theres nothing to keep players playing long term. My evidence is look at the fact BW is making more end game content, trying to support raiding (that to be fair as been neglected for a long time) Back when swtor was in beta players wanted end game content, you have to remember eternity vault was the only raid back then, up untill the rise of the hutt cartel, swtor was growing very fast, but a few PR blunders and bugs / glitches back then drove players off in there droves, the focus switched from large story content to a smaller story than again pushed people away, to the point swtor was a zombi game. it was only down to the fact it was the only really good star wars game and it had / has a loyal fan base are we even able to play it now. The truth is, swtor is dying as been for awile now. BW needs to attract more than story players, more focus on end game content will bring more people back, a fresh new look with a simpler skill set, won't put people off and, new and fun end game content will keep people longer, sure solo story players will be angry. but a new thriving end game will IN TIME bring back crafters (as raiders will need meds and stims) in time am sure BW will start adding in more crafting. bw will then be able to balance classes better ( this will make pvpers happy ) that means more of a range of classes theres no downside.
  20. Your evidence? remember theres 3 levels of ops so unless there is a lot of content no one is doing or more people run ops every week then you care to admit.
  21. What experance of mmos are you drawing on? I mean you must have a vast knowledge of what works and what won't to make the clame that it will be "total rubbish" or most lightly you think it will be rubbish as it changes things you and a small amount of people like you like. BW is doing nothing so crazy that means 70% / 80% of the player base will leave, all they're doing is freshen the game up its been stale for awhile now. BW is trying to make the game enjoyable for ALL not just a few vocal few, putting the focus on operations as a knock on effect that can only help the game grow... let me show you. Having a focus on raiding will mean players need to now roll healers and tanks to make things easier, so that means you will see more of said classes in flashpoints, guilds will start to recruit for raiding rather than conquests. That means smaller guilds rather than a few big cesspool conquest guilds, more guilds means more players get to do content they wouldn't normally do. Having a smaller skill set means classes are easier to balance and then it's easier to add new skills later on as BW can focus more on skill / class balance...., this will mean more class diversity Remind me how any of that is a bad thing?
  22. *Sigh* I give up I really do, why is it when BW try to change things up ppl lose there minds? I mean at this point people would just be happy to forget 7.0 and stay in 6.xxxx forever. Is it any wonder why BW just farm the cash mules? this is how I see BW HQ. BW "Hey lets try adding new" forum users "NO! DONT TAKE MY GEAR"... BW " ok we wont change gearing, but hey lets add some new ski..... forum users "NO DONT CHANGE MY SKILLS" BW ok.....erm lets add some new ops and flashpoints... forum users..." NO MORE MULTIPLAYER CONTENT"... BW ok what the hell do you want? forum users... " BW NEVER LISTENS"... BW......ok we quit.
  23. Oki tell me how are people being forced? who as a gun to your head. You can do conquest to get gear to do any story content and then from there you run ops to get gear for END GAME no matter what content you do you get gear to do that content. How hard is it to understand? Please read https://vulkk.com/2021/11/03/how-endgame-gearing-will-work-in-swtor-7-0/
  24. The only way BW can fix the player base worrys is to do the following. At 80 give the player 75 billion credits, a full set of gold 4 billion ilvl gear to all toons on your account and lastly a guy comes to your home at 8am to play your swtor account who leaves at 7:59 the next morning, so you never have to put any effort or miss a single moment of swtor. Ill never understand why people can't, you know progress there toons. Why do people want everything handed to them, I know its a unpopular opinion, but really if you want the best gear go join a progression Ops guild. Experance the content and enjoy it. Swtor is a MMO (massively multiplayer online game) if you want to play a single player game then am sure theres some fantastic ones out there. May I recommend the Balders gate games
  25. See I can get behind that, if your talking about min / maxing 326ilvl gear then I agree you SOULD be able to do that. What I don't agree with is asking for ops 334 gear regardless of stats just to do story mode thats just overkill. I do have faith you will see more than 1 item per slot, if however thats wrong and you are then, looking at flashpoints / ops to get say a head with no acc on than Ill lend my voice to the rest saying the system is dumb. I have not been on the PTR to test the gear but from what I can tell from this. https://vulkk.com/2021/11/03/how-endgame-gearing-will-work-in-swtor-7-0/ it seems they do understand the issue. From my experance most Op's guild will be able to "push" the Ilvl requirements, but yes there will be a grind to it, this can be made better by "opening" the raid say a month after 7.0 kicks off, but even then you will still have to farm for gear, but I don't see this as a issue, you want to gear your tank for a ops, then he jumps into a flashpoint to do it, that means tanks / healers will start to populate the queues more rather than just haveing dps in your group you will now have 3 dps a tank and healer. that can only help the game
