  1. TOR failed at the only things that matter in an MMO: gameplay and content. No rated pvp, coming "soon" right? luls. Horrid raid content, both guilds I was in quit after crushing all of it in the first week, both tier 1 and 2. Playing diablo 3 and not looking back, only here cause servers are up and down on first day Diablo is what it is and it doesn't lie, its just no-nonsense hack and slash video gaming. Screw "story" and voice acting........ Waste 5 months here on TOR hoping it would be something special, but it fails at even being a WOW clone with star wars slapped on it. Playing TOR now is like logging into a empty wasteland, riding laps around your abandoned fleet looking for ANYTHING to do..............no thanks. Soon it will all just be a bad memory, good riddance.
  2. Diablo 3 is here, so finally I have something new to play. Yes, Diablo is not an MMO, or even very similar, but I know one thing, it will at least be a solid game, and you know what you are getting. Blizzard has an incrdeible track record and they don't release bad games, period. I thought and hoped SWTOR would be the game I would play years, bought into the hype, and really all I wanted was a GOOD WOW clone with star wars slapped on it. I would have been happy and satisfied with that. That was simply not delivered. I have done it all in this game, I'll spare the details, but when I say all, I mean ALL the content. Done all there is in PVE and PVP'ed till my eyes bled, on multiple characters. Watched 3 guilds die and leave the game, after beating the first tier on 16 man, my first guild laughed and left. After beating all the 1.2 PVE content in the first week, my second guild laughed and left. Now finally I am in a PVP guild but even they pretty much have now agreed that this game is just not good, and they are spread out playing Tera, Diablo 3 tonight, and waiting on GW2 or even going back to WOW. I leave this game with mostly irritation and anger. When I look back on my time in WOW, I think of epic pvp and incredibly good times with my guild killing raid bosses, good memories. I will never go back to WOW because it is old, and I refuse to support it, I want something new, but I still recognize it as arguably the greatest video game of all time. I look back on SWTOR and just feel annoyed that I wasted 5 months here on a subpar game. The MMO genre is awful right now. No one can push Blizzard, and that lets Blizzard be lazy as they just continue to milk WOW with no incentive to make anything better..........for now. How can you fail at making a WOW clone with the star wars name and a huge budget? Sigh.............. Anyways, bye, my server is dead, I think this game is dying, and that is of course only my opinion, but it sure seems a popular one. This thread I expect to be closed or deleted, that is how Bioware runs these forums. Quitting posts are literally encouraged on the Blizzard forums, and swept under the rug here. I think soon though it won't matter, it will be a moot point. See you all in whatever the next big thing is. I plan on just playing Diablo 3 until someone has the balls to shake up the MMO genre and make us care again.
  3. Doesn't matter, in the end not even the fatman can save a bad game. It will die just like every other server, just at a slower pace. If you truly like this game, it is the only choice, as it will most likely be the last to die. So yeah, have fun with that............
  4. This was a solid patch? They deleted my f@#$ing matrix cube......... /thread
  5. Ummmmm, of course I want the Q's separated and 8 mans to face other 8 mans, and rankings, and everything they have promised is coming but we aren't holding our breath. The problem is there simply isn't enough people even playing on our server now so it is all a moot point. If they separated them but didn't change anything else, and we don't have cross server or ranked or anything new, we simply would never get a game. So yes, they need to separate them, but they have to do all that other stuff too so that we would actually have people to play. You can't just separate pugs from premades right now but not introduce cross server or transfers or merges or rankings, queue times would just get worse and our teams would never get games. If that is what you want and it would just cause everyone to pug, well that is lowering the game to the lowest common denominator, but it wouldn't really surprise me.
  6. Ridiculous. We are not going to NOT play with each other so that games are more competitive because the quality of them goes DOWN. That is flat out stupid. This is a TEAM game. We are going to play with each other because we enjoy it and it is not our job to somehow make the games more interesting by playing in unorganized pugs with less skilled players. That isn't any fun either. Dumbing down our experience, slowing down our gear progression, and playing less interesting games are NOT the solutions here. I would rather steamroll pugs all day then be a part of them and if it is killing this game, so be it. Those of you advocating solo Q pvp and who think that is even remotely fun to watch 8 people run around like chickens with their heads cut off, more power to you. That isn't fun to us, it is just dumb. Yes, we are causing a problem. No it is not our job to fix this problem. It is Bioware's job, and we already outlined the viable solutions. This CAN'T be solved on the player end, any suggestion of dumbing the game down for us, which is what you are basically asking, is ridiculous. I'd rather quit the game then Q solo (shudders). If I wanted solo play I would just go duel people all day (oh yeah, what we do between Q's anyways). We want to face good competition, but if 80% of the time we are just steamrolling pugs, oh well, we are not going to solve that problem by coming down to the pugs level, no thanks. Bioware can fix this, not us. If they turn off group Q'ing, so be it, but as long as it is in-game, we are going to use it, because we can still occasionally face each other or another premade, and actually get some decent pvp in.
  7. My thread is still alive? OK. Well, lets get some things straight with the "stop Q'ing as premades" I am seeing in a few posts, like the one I am quoting. Short answer: No. Longer answer: We don't "abuse" any kind of comp or synergy. We play with whatever we have, whenever we have it. We don't care about classes, or how many healers we have, or whatever. We don't have set teams or care about comps. We ask who wants to play and we play. We will care about that other stuff when and if rateds ever get here. Time to realize good players gravitate towards each other, and become friends, and want to play together. This is team pvp, a team game, a team atmosphere. Could we thrive or get by as solo players? Probably, but why bother? Once again, it is Bioware's problem, not ours. We aren't abusing anything, we are just playing a video game and we want some damn competition. Don't blame us for steamrolling pugs as we grind out our warhero gear. Here is an overused cliche for you: Don't hate the player, hate the game. I have to think that people who don't have people to queue up with either don't have social skills, or are bad at the game, or both. If you don't suck, people will want to play with you, it is that simple. Getting rid of grouping up for pvp would only hurt things more, that isn't the solution either. I'll kick the dead horse and say it again like has been said in this thread and tons of others: server merges/transfers, rateds and premades facing only other premades are the solutions.
  8. Having 2 factions and expertise is not what is killing servers and more specifically: Mandalore. This game being bad is. The two 16 man raiding guilds I was in have already quit the game after clearing all the content in the first week of 1.2. First One didn't even wait on 1.2, I joined Retribution, cleared everything, and guild took a vote to go back to WOW, I stayed in SWTOR and now pvp with Eidolon on pub side. Now we all sit around and farm war hero gear at a boring pace, waiting on queues, talking about whoever left the server or rerolled that day, cause it is someone new everyday. Horrid raid content + no rateds + no cross server pvp + no transfers or server merges yet is what has killed mandalore or any other server. Voice acting and "story" only gets you so far. When it comes to the meat and potatos of an MMO, SWTOR doesn't deliver..........................yet. Maybe they will save it, doubt it though.

    Arenas

If you think this game is even close to capable of supporting arenas........................you are probably bad at arenas.
  10. lol...... Arena in this game......... With the current TTK.................. Healers need not apply amirite? Any full dps team would simply walk in, blow all CD's and it would simply be a race to see who was left standing. The pvp in this game is too simple for arena. I like it, but with the simplicity of the resolve bar and every class basically having the same CC, you wouldn't have to learn about different DR's or anything or even barely coordinate. "Hey focus fire that guy and I'll stun first, you stun second" This game would be better with large scale pvp, but hey, the engine can't handle more then 8v8 it seems.............cool. Done mock arena with high rated players in tatooine and have seen this firsthand. 4v4.

    I need an excuse

No it hasn't. My guild cleared all the new 16 man content, normal and hard modes in roughly 12-16 hours in the first week of release. They quit and went back to WOW, now I am left with solely PVP as the raiding environment is completely dead on my server (my FIRST 16 man guild didn't even wait for 1.2, luls). With nightmare modes nowhere in sight, no PTS, and nothing being mentioned about what is coming next, my old guild laughed and walked away. I stayed........and joined a pvp guild, now all I do is roll pugs all day with our premades and talk about so and so who quit or rerolled (everyday its someone new).
  12. On a very rare occasion we end up facing each other, you have to remember you can only Q up as 4, so this does happen sometimes. Still, this isn't a very viable solution. It is Bioware's problem, not ours.
  13. Playable game > my character names I don't think anything could be less of an issue. Hell, Bioware can rename my characters whatever they want, I couldn't care less.
  14. I knew it would come off that way, nothing much I can really do about it. Truth is truth. Not playing together is not the solution, thanks.
  15. I will try to explain this without coming off as cocky, or happy about this. We have a decent pvp background, mostly 2400+ arena/RBG WOW players with a few glads sprinkled in, I even enjoyed raiding in this game and have done all the content but BOTH of the 16 man raiding guilds I have been in have already quit the game and moved on. I now solely pvp. We play ALOT. We don't lose. When my guild is online and queueing up with 2 or more groups over the course of 4-6 hour sessions, we get into games and look at the final scoreboard and you can see anywhere from 16-20 imps came in and out of the game. People queue dodge us, or stop Q'ing completely. Since we are the smaller faction, all they see is our premades mixed with a couple other pub guild premades, and we all know how to work together and it is actually a good pvp community. We have a call and name for just about every passing location in huttball. This is starting to make queue times horrible. Our server is dying just like everyone elses. We have multiple empire players saying it takes them roughly 4+ hours of queue dodging and playing just to get their daily done. We have anyone who is any decent at pvp asking to reroll and join us. We don't like this because who the hell are we supposed to play? Instead of having any rivalry or decent games, we just have people who would rather stand around and socialize in say chat while we 3 cap or 6 score huttball. And most people just seem to be quitting. TLDR - Nothing is more important right now then server merging/transfers. We all want rateds, we all want cross-server warzones, we all want balance and to make sure no cheats or hacks happen in rateds. None of that matters if our servers are dead and we can't play the game in even its current basic state.
  16. stim says hi, as well as not spending comms on consumables till you are fully geared out.
  17. Guess what.......they reward both!
  18. No, they will never be actually balanced, but right now they are not even close to acceptable for rated scenarios. If you think they were actually close and we were actually 7-8 hours away from rated pvp and they were pulled at the last second.........you are gullible
  19. Lets be real here guys, this game isn't even close to ready for rated pvp. We think we are. We keep asking for it. We really have no clue. Bioware still has a ton of class balance and tweaking to do, data still needs to be collected. Solo queue rating is a joke of an idea. Team comps would be so imbalanced right now and favor not taking some classes at all. Huttball and 3 or 4 tank specced assassin/shadows in dps gear on a team. Nuff said. Let them take their time, let them try to hit a homerun. Everyone is screaming bloody murder and that we need rated pvp NOW! But come on, you may be playing the guild wars 2 beta, but the game isn't coming for months. Bioware has some time to try to get this right. This game isn't ready for rated pvp yet, not even close. So sit back, do the awful war hero gear grind, have a beer, and relax.
  20. Light is an understatement. There is another MMO I know of where the term "light" applied to a server there means about 25x the amount of people on a "light" server here. I would say "dead" is a better term.
  21. I will never play a F2P MMO. I prefer a subscription format because it is more pure. We all pay our flat rate and we all get whatever we earn in game, not by how much money we spend. Our character's are built by how much time we spend on them, not how much money we spend on them.
  22. Names are made up Ryan: Have you played the new star wars MMO? Tom: Yeah its alright. Ryan: Better then WOW? Tom: Not really. Ryan: Well what is the deal with it? Should I check it out? Tom: I don't know, it has like lightsabers and star wars stuff if you like that. Ryan: Is anything sick or cool about it? Tom: Well, its got like stories and stuff, and you have alot of pets or companion guys and stuff. Ryan: Like hunters and warlocks? Tom: Kind of, they are important to the story though. Think of it like the scene in spaceballs where darth helmet is playing with his dolls, that is like you and your companions. I don't know ask (me) about it, he plays it alot. Me: /facepalm
