  1. I have a 400 Armormech and 400 Biochem. I'm pretty sure not much has changed regarding biochem but I keep hearing about 'crit crafting' and 'augment slots.' I went to the gear vendors and I see these schematic boxes for sale. Can someone tell me what 'crit crafting' is? Can my armormech make gear with augment slots in it now? If so, how? What's up with the shcematic boxes for sale at the gear vendors? Like the Battlemaster boxes? Thanks in advance.
  2. 'Bout fell out of my chair when I read that. Combined with calling a x-server LFG tool 'a significant technical achievement' and you have yourself one very enlightening interview. One that did more harm than good lol. SWTOR is the laughingstock of the MMO world.
  3. it’s a significant technical achievement You guys are a freaking joke and this one statement exposes that fact for the world to see. Here's a protip for you: there's this little company called Trion, they have a fraction of the money, manpower and resources that Bioware/EA does and their little game called Rift had cross server LFG within the first few months of launch. Then again, for you clowns a "significant technical achievement" would be releasing a patch that doesn't break something else.
  4. You'll notice he said his DPS sucks compared to other tanks, and he's right, Guardian DPS is *** compared to other tanks, it's the major source of our agro problems. I have a Vanguard tank and in similar gear he outperforms my JG in every way. Bioware is a fail company in every aspect, and it starts with class design.
  5. That's the exact post I've been wanting to make for a while, completely spot on.
  6. Game breaking means so frustrating you just want to log out. Every MMO has them, only the bads, like SWTOR, let them linger around for months. F2P by August.
  7. Guess you've never watched Soa bug out or have to reset the zone over and over because the pylons get stuck... Both of which have been around for months and yet...nothing. Oh, wait, a reset button, lol.
  8. 1. No, but if you hire pro's they make it look easy. Bioware are MMO amateurs and it shows. They apparently have learned nothing from previous, much more successful launches. 2. And yet, companies like Trion and others manage to pull of almost flawless launches with no game breaking patches. I'm thinking it's because they hired experienced pro's. 3. lolwut. There are game breaking bugs in this game that have been here for months. Bioware is one of the slowest responding mmo's developers ever. 4. Yeah, and really bad things happen to the totally unprepared and amateur.
  9. Sorry but you're pretty much full of crap. EQ, UO, DAOC, they all had the same responses to problems. DAOC had no itemization past level 30 at release and the forum trolls let Mythic have it day after day. There was no generalized 'patience' by everyone in the community, the flame wars against the devs of those games in forums were just as livid back then as they are now. You're wearing rose colored glasses if you remember otherwise.
  10. Apparently there was some Dev blog or interview somewhere that explained the set bonuses would only transfer on new gear sets. Why it wasn't in the patch notes is beyond me, all that I can say is this is what most of us have come to expect from Failware. I imagine the Dev response to you will be along the lines of 'L2P newb' or some such.
  11. I told my guildies yesterday to not buy the GB and to do nothing major because I guaranteed them 1.2 would be a major screw up. They all listened and we saved tons of credits and headaches apparently. To answer the OP, yes, this is the beginning of the end for SWTOR, may she rest in peace.
  12. That't because you can't see past the end of your nose. I personally have 2 level 50's. I have 3 guildies who have played since early release, they play the game for social reasons and love it, they love the game much more than i do. They each have 3 toons in their 40's but with almost maxed out Social. I get 30 free days, they do not. Dev's reward me and not them, way to go ignorant Devs.
  13. Here's more: The patch notes didn't say that set bonuses wont transfer with mods on existing gear, you had to find that info out in some Dev blog post somewhere, so many, many folks have spent hundred's of thousands of credits to find this out the hard way. Here's a pro-tip Devs: very few folks read Dev blogs or interviews, things as important as this need to be in the patch notes you nubs. EV still broken in a couple of places, for months now. Healing in PvP is a joke. No rewards for Warzones unless you get 3 medals. New end-game gear looks like crap. Free 30 days only if you have a level 50 toon, lol, how comically sad is that one? Screw you slow levellers who have been here since December.
  14. The way SWTOR works is that you take reason and logic, through it out the window. Then you pull out your magical Dev interpreter, comb over the Dev notes with a fine tooth comb and hope that you don't actually miss that one line, in the hundreds of lines that says, oh, buy the way, WE SUCK AS DEVS AND CAN'T MAKE YOUR CURRENT GEAR BEHAVE LIKE NEW GEAR OF THE SAME TYPE. thanks for playing and go away n00b as well
  15. I think you'll find the more typical thing is what's going on with my guild. We're medium sized and the vast majority of the active subscribers haven't really been logging in much for the last couple of weeks. Heck, I'm one of the most active players in the guild and I've only been a on few hours in the last two weeks. We all of us have been saying 1.2 is make or break for resub'ing. So far today the general consensus is one of disappointment. Will that translate into a mass exodus of guildies away from SWTOR? I'd give better than even odds that it does, but of course you never know. 1.2 is a rush job, just like the game was, such a shame.
  16. I get a kick out of the psychoanalysts in this thread who tell us, with all authority, BW's reasoning behind this change: they want to kill the hybrid spec's and/or they want you to give up survivability in order to gain DPS. Pure trash. Vanguard tanks make no such sacrifice. My Vanguard tank out dps's my Guardian tank by a wide margin. Not only that, but if my group doesn't need a tank and would like me to switch to DPS I don't respec, I just swap in my DPS gear and pound away with the dps'ers, no such luck with my Guardian tank, his dps is a joke in tank spec even with DPS gear. It's the main reason why our threat generation sucks so bad. Bottom line is that BW is freaking clueless when it comes to the design of so many aspects of this game, chief among them the Guardian class.
  17. Haha, try tanking with a Vanguard where the AE taunt isn't even part of my rotation, it simply isn't needed, and DPS'ers can blast away while I hold aggro just fine. Then, of course, there's single target threat generation which is also a complete joke. The reason is simple, and it takes all of 10 minutes playing a 50 Vanguard to figure out why: tank spec'd Vanguards do way more DPS than tank spec'd Guardians, whether AE or single target.
  18. I think you're a being a bit obtuse here, using macro's via hardware is not cheating, it's not against the ToS and Biware actually advertises for you to go out and buy the SWTOR sponsored hardware that you can use to Macro. You think you are against macros, you are not. They are already in the game with BW's blessing. You are, in fact, FOR a select few having them while the rest do without unless they pump more cash into BW/Razr/Logitech's pockets. Pull your head out of the sand.
  19. You can postulate whatever made-up reasoning you want but in the end you're advocating that a select few be allowed to have macros and the vast majority be denied them. Macros are already in the game for a select few. If you are against BW supplying them you are simply against everyone having access to them without having to pump more money into BW's or Razr's or Logitech's pockets.
  20. I guess you can't read. Macro's are already in the game via hardware. You being against BW supplied macro's really means you're all for a select few having access to macro's while the majority do not.
  21. Alot of people, like me, want macros because Bioware has poorly designed the class system and with macros I will be able to enjoy the game more, despite their poor design. Here's how: I have a 50 Guardian tank and a 50 Vanguard tank, I levelled the Guardian first and shelved him to bring up the Vanguard. The main reason I did so is that I cannot enjoy end game content with the Guardian nearly as much as I can with the Vanguard. In order to get optimum effectiveness out of my Guardian I have many more buttons to push, more CD's to monitor and more conditionals to watch out for than on the Vanguard. When tanking with the Guardian I spend most of my fights managing my abilities. With my Vanguard tank I spend most of my time managing the encounter, which makes it much more enjoyable to play. Bioware, for whatever reason, has made the task of tanking much more easily managed for one class over another. If they were to put in macro's it would even out the playing field, so to speak, and I would play my Guardian again because I enjoy that 'playstyle' better. Until then, I'll accomplish the same tasks with my Vangaurd and have a much more enjoyable time doing it, because I'm using about half as many abilities/button smashes than my Guardian. P.S. I also know that there are DPS classes in the same situation, one class needs a dozen button smashes to accomplish what the other class does with half as many.
  22. Eternity Vault this week goes like this: Puzzle pieces wont move, everyone logs out and tries again the next night. Soa first try: he freezes at 1% health for about 20 seconds and then resets. Second try: mising floor tiles, we try anyways and wipe because turns out the one's missing we actually need to drop down. Third try: Soa freezes and no pillar spawns to drop on him and break his shield, we just exit area and reset. Fourth try: get to final stage, I jump down from last tile and end up in the Twilight Zone, I'm in the final arena, I can see all my mates on the mini-map, I can see their health changing but I can't see them or Soa or target Soa and when I try to move I get put right back where I was. They kill him, I have to log out, log back in and then make it back to them hoping I can loot the guy. Here's a pro-tip for Bioware: touting all your new content and changes in upcoming patches when old stuff is horribly broken (and this is by far not a complete list of broken crap) belies a major disconnect somewhere in your organization.
