  1. To be clear, it doesn't reset once a week, it resets 7 days after the last time you respeced. You must go 7 days without respecing for it to reset.

    this is not true

I respecced on Tuesday for PVE and respecced right back after raiding. I specced into AP today and it was free.

  2. CROSS FACTION KILLS THE COMMUNITY

I'm sorry bioware made too many servers so you people on barron servers are screwed. but don't ruin the community for the rest of us. Having "H trough Ka" forums is bad enough. Do they want people to just play single player?

  3. "DO IT MY WAY OR EVERYONE WILL QUIT! I CAN'T PROVE THIS IN ANY WAY BUT IT'S A FACT. I KNOW MORE ABOUT DEVELOPING MMO'S THAN AN MMO DEVELOPMENT TEAM DESPITE NEVER HAVING SEEN A LINE OF CODE IN MY LIFE"

Maybe you should stop running away when you don't have a guaranteed win and enjoy the challenge?

As much as I hate OP's rage, there is no challenge when you are the only one above 13k HP and you are zoned into a 10 minute left game with a score of 4-0.

  4. ...

Finally, I'm not sure what the point of this thread is, and I don't mean that as a personal attack. No, you aren't as tough as a Shieldtech-heavy spec - you aren't supposed to be - and no the damage isn't high enough - mainly because your survivability is weak, which hopefully should be addressed in 1.2 since DPS JKs/SWs have the same issue - but it is still a viable playstyle and spec. It is not "the resident 'fail' spec" and you do not need to "feel ballsy" to play it...

I did the whole 3 stacks thing. As soon as I saw that the CD coincided with about 3 flame bursts I decided to run with that mindest. I'm a flexible and well adapted player. Flamethrower doesn't hit hard enough at that point to warrant standing still. If you're not getting interrupted that doesn't mean the spec is good, that means your opponents are bad. No one is going to interupt a powertechs unload.

AP is a bad spec. If you want to tank, go ST or a ST hybrid. If you want to DPS, go pyrotech. Anything AP can do, pyro can do better. Fact, Checkmate, Period, Done.

The idea behind this thread is that this spec is a joke and only worth speccing into for giggles. Competitive players are running pyrotech or shield tech. I'm curious to see how terrible (or good but that was a long shot) the spec is when played by competitive players. If you're playing this spec for fun I am not hating but just know that you are not playing the class to it's fullest potential. Again, it's a game. Nothing wrong with having fun. But if you are playing competitively, you don't bat lefty because you like the play style better.

  5. If people take screenshots/videos of powertechs nuking 11K hpers and rolling pugs with 4 man premades resulting in 500K damage - 0 deaths, the only one taking those seriously are 12 year olds

Operatives burst damage was coupled with stuns, that's why they got nerfed. Not saying it was a needed nerf (i actually don't know any good operatives so I can't say) but that's what happened.

  6. I see what you're saying with RB, this ability is balls, but 10 seconds off of a stun cooldown isn't really that big a deal. If it was 15 seconds and you could practically rotation carbonize/stun dart, then we'd have a conversation. I find myself constantly Flamethrowering nothing as people run through me or interrupt me. it's really really really awful. Also, spamming flame burst 5 times in a row doesn't really feel all that good.

I did 300k damage in the last huttball I was in (i normally do 200-250k as parakeet) and I didn't have a charge. Immolate hits for a nice 2K and flamethrower (when it works) ticks for 1700, but it's just not enough to trade off all the survivability of ion gas cylinder and jet charge.
