  1. I dont understand why do people assume that when they get killed it is because they don't have the gear. It's kind a like geeks assume that hot women don't like them because they are gold diggers. You are nothing special dude. Just another guy. Want to own face against everything go play a single player game... I mean to get full centurion gear right now takes about a week... just from doing your dailies and weeklies = 20 bags and you will at least buy another 2-3 bags. So that means you can buy like a full set of centurion gear plus at least 2 major pieces of champ gear... I mean this is about as easy as it gets. Now cent gear is about 10% worse than champ gear, and 15% worse than battlemaster. But considering that diminishing returns (which is when you get less from the more) it is actually more like 6% and 10% respectively. Bottom line is that if you are so skillful and everybody else is a shrub you should not have a prob! Finally, somebody that is Battlemaster has played about 400 WZs from 50 to 60... Maybe he got a little bit of skill from them? I challenge you to find a game where someone that played 400 games lose against someone that played 40... try BF3, man I was getting owned in the face in the beginning, didnt even know from where I was getting killed. Now I go with the worst gun and take off all the mods and sights and still roll people left and right. And your class is *********** incredible for PvP... I mean you have *********** undying rage or whatever it is called for republic side... this is like the best skill ever.
  2. I have a lvl 50 op and sniper. It is pretty cool and they are quite different. I would roll a rep one if I didnt have my guild Imp side.
  3. With 114% tech accuracy and 104% ranged accuracy I do not get deflected. You get killing blows because you have a dot on someone when they get killed, doesnt neccessary mean that your dot killed them or that it even did majority of the damage. Next time look at Solo Kills and tell us that number. Also, 438/37 = 11.8 which given that every lvl 50 basically starts at 12.5 min mean that you had help on average for every kill. Finally people are not saying Lethality is worse because of damage output. Rather because of damage on demand. Sometimes you just don't have the time to wait for dots to tick as in Huttball. Snipers get a bit extra damage from InstaSnipe and Followthru as well as about 30% extra damage on Followthru and Takedown as well as 20% armor penetration on Ambush. And my biggest problem with Lethality is that I did not roll a sniper to not play one...
  4. None of the good gear has a light/dark requirments such as centurion/champion and tionese/columi. Besides a lot of the items before lvl 50 are more like Forbidden To Dark I or above or something along those lines. Point is that if you keep in neutral you actually can use more gear than if you take a particular path because you will be able to use all the Forbiden To gears and of course you wont be able to use the light/dark side vendors on Imp Fleet but their stuff is crap anyhow. As far as companions go you can go only a like 3k points affection if you choose all the correct affection choices. and the funny thing is that it kind a equilizes itself - sometime Kalyo will give you affection for Light choices. For instance the light choices about the holodisk at Fatwa's palace give you affection with Kalyo. Anyhow, you are supposed to actually give them gifts to raise their affection.
  5. You can open your abi9lities pane and there is a crouch ability... use that one always!
  6. I've played both and the gunslinger is clearly the more stylish(gear and looks) and fun(story wise) class to play... but the animations r different and as such make 2 HUGE differences in gameplay: 1 is that our explosive probe is IMEDIATE while their probe is slow traveling to the target. So with sniper you can Ambush and as soon as the Ambush shot is away you Probe and the Ambish ignites the probe. This cannot be done with Gunslinger. Basically he throws his probe like a slow traveling frisbee which starts an animation that kind a takes a while to transition into a shooting animation. Long story short Sniper can simultaniosly hit for a lot of damage out of nowhere and gunslinger cannot. Also, for gunslinger it will take a bit longer to do the same thing. Also they have a weird animation for their Snipe mirror where they shoot two shots from each blaster and those shots travel a lot slower than the sniper shot. Long story short if you move before the animation ends you will cancel the move so that makes the Sniper's Snipe faster by at least .2 seconds which is HUGE! Like once you have insta-snipe you cabn drop cover, shoot, and move pretty much as fast as you can press the buttons. But with a gunslinger, you get cover, shoot, wait for the animation to finish which actually means you have to pay attention, and then move. Big difference! Finally some guys did calculations that showed the sniper rifle Min damage outperforming the two blasters damage but the max was a bit higher for the blasters. They also said that since only the main hand damage is calculated for pvp medals it is harder to get the 2.5k single hit damage medal which I usually get from my first shot with my sniper. Hope that helps.
  7. You should change your A and D to strafing and use your mouse for orientation. Also a big help is to change your mouse wheel up and down to your two basic attacks - rifle shot and nades. Many people completly forget that they have this. Then add in shift for your Leg Shot/Shatter Shot. Some of the not so common keys people forget that are hotkeyable are ` and Shift-`. By changing strafing you also free up your Q and E which are two of the most comfortable keys to use so I usually have E as my most important and fastest to access ability, with Sniper that would be crouch (get rid of the default one and put Crouch from your abilities pane.) My Q is usually my melee attack. Shift-Space is also something people forget and is very easy to use and accessible. I usually have my knockback on it. Also generally I try to keep to the left of my keyboard so that means 4TGV is like the boundry for my hotkeys ans those are things on long cooldown like 4 is my explossive probe, T is cybertech nades 1, G is cybertech nades 2, and V is my energy probe (I used V for Vent on my Merc so I got used to it Definetly change C to something else because you dont want to accidently open your Chaaracter screen in a middle of a fight... great way to lose the fight btw. Finally make sure that you disable the cover bar from options. And turn in the new Cooldown timers because they are incredible in PvP. Also try to not have keys that you will need to use on the move being Shift keys. For instance I have Debilite as R and Flashbang as F. And don't use your mouse for walking... use it for panning your camera and at best only the right button for directional orientation.
  8. I've got both... they r worth it. If you can roll Republic then you should go with a smuggler.
  9. Those cybertech grenades that knock people on their backs for 4 seconds with no damage breaker sure are nice... every 5 minutes you have a chance to completly turn a PvP game around. But aside from them there is very little incentive for most crafts. I think they need to make special abilities for all crafting professions. Like the guy that makes armor should be able to put into the armor an ability that pretty much mimics the biochem stuff. For instance he should be able to craft gloves that give you crit/surge for 15 seconds on 90 second cooldown. Same thing with the one that makes weapons... should be able to imbue them with a special power... for instance increase in accuracy/power etc. Good thing is that armor and barrels will be removable from commendation gear in 1.2 so this will make it possible to look as you like.
  10. 'cause the knockbacks of all other classes are lag free, precise and always send the other player exactly where you want them to go. OP this is the forums of a 2 million subscribers game. Even if 0.1% of the subscribers are unhappy with something that is still 1000 people QQing to high heaven.
  11. What's with everyone talking about 108% accuracy? I bet some guy randomly posted how 108% is a magical number and the sheep just kept following off the cliff. I've got 113% and no complaints. Haven't seen the words Missed or Dodged for a while.
  12. Sometimes things seem better on paper than they really are. People seem to overvalue armor way too much. And while it is true that against a well geared tank we are going to have trouble so will almost any class. You run out of energy, distance and time way faster when you are lethality. 18k damage is a lot of dots for a long time so you won't be able to pop a couple of CDs and possibily stop that tank from scoring on Huttball... you have got a little bit more options with MM such as knockback ambush, root cover pulse, and a lot more damage on demand from Followthru and Insta-Snipe. As for Distance since you spend more time in cover tanks cannot leap at you. So if you are on the top platform in huttball they have to just take it and when and if they start getting close they have to deal with flashbang, debilitate, cover pulse, leg shot, knockback ambush and 9 seconds of -45% acc, plus 3 seconds where they cannot do damage to you. On a good day heavy armor gives you 25% damage mitigation. Now I am not matematician but with Shatter Shot you are left with about 20%, then with 112% accuracy the damage mitigation will go down to 17%, and with ambush bypassing 20% from talents you are looking at about 14% damage mitigation. And this is for heavy armor. Medium is about 8-9% and light armor is about 5%. And I can bet you that my MM shots deal way more than 14% extra IMEDIATE damage than lethality.
  13. Not knowing how to play a tree does not make it bad for PvP... it makes you bad at PvP... and also a little bit screwed since you are not playing a sniper after leveling one
  14. That is exactly my point. With sniper I can ambush and just as the shot is fired put an explosive probe that gets ignited by the ambush since ambush takes a bit of time to get ther.... So in essence I do like 6-7k damage right there. With the gunslinger you cannot do that and I think it is a major disadvantage. Also, since Snipe is one shot I pretty much can do something else imediatly after the 1.5 secs or after my insta-snipe. With the gunslinger I need to wait for the animation of firing like 2shots from each gun before I can move for instance. Also, the Snipe shot seems to travel a lot faster. Basically it seems that for about .2 seconds after the 1.5 charge you should not move because that will basically cancel half or the full shot while you can imediatly move after the 1.5 seconds with a sniper. Also, because the snipe shot gets there almost instantly you visually register that you can move a lot faster than with the slow crap the gunslingers have.
  15. The champion gear is pretty cool... and you get high boots so you dont see that much pants. But I do play with a female character... gear almost always look better on female characters and as the guy above I love female a**... hate all u want 2!
