  1. When you guys swing the Nerf Bat, you don't mess around huh? Companions are still OP for the veterans with every presence and companion bonus unlocked and have the time to grind for gifts; They are useless for the new player starting from scratch, with only a few hours to play and not as able to get the gifts to boost companion performance, AKA the casual market that this game has been blatantly trying to win over with 4.0. So you found a solution that manages to serve no one, really. I don't know why I expected otherwise from Bioware Austin. The only winners here are researchers in search of new case studies for mismanagement of customer feedback, game systems and data analysis.
  2. I think Level-Synch is mandatory upon roll out because that's the only way BW can gather info on how it will affect gameplay and player behavior. If it were optional from the very start, a big chunk of people might never opt for it out of principle, significantly skewing the data and their conclusions. What am I basing this on? The first time 12x came out, there was no opt out. Then when it returned the option was present. The data told em that a big enough chunk of players were dissatisfied with mandatory 12x. If Level-Sync is as ruinous to the SWTOR experience as some of us think, then an opt-out will probably be added some months down the line. The important thing now is for us to actually play it and let our collective metrics influence the game's future. If the Anti-Synchers quit right now, then the only data BW will have is of players who enjoy it, or are neutral towards it. In the end, there will always be people who will be negatively affected by any change in the game, enough to even leave entirely. Whether enough people are so affected to add an opt out or even reverse this change, only time will tell. TL;DR, we need to take these changes for a spin first before any of us say things we might regret. It's only 20-27 days away at this point anyway.
  3. Personal Best to Worst: Sith Warrior - LS Warrior makes you feel like an honorable man in a galaxy of fiends, confounding Jedi and exposing their hypocrisy, and being one of the few sane Sith in the Empire. Have rolled far too many of these (Done 4X and counting). Jedi Knight - It's KOTOR 3, and Kira is just the best companion you could have (Done 2X, will roll again, probably). Imperial Agent - Twisty and turny and fun. But it does lose impact over several repeats. (Done 3 times) Sith Inquisitor - The slow burn story of the rise of a slave to become one of the most powerful Sith in the galaxy. My ranking for this story improved on 12X, as it's much better when not diluted by planetary and side quests. (Done 3 times.) Jedi Consular - The story pays off late - far too late for many - but it does pay off. It's also a truer 'Jedi' experience, forging alliances, searching for knowledge, being all diplomatic, etc., so it's not everyone's cup of tea. Also benefits from being on 12X (Done once) Bounty Hunter - Once in my top 4, the story actually got worse on 12X, as you get to see just how meh the plot is on its own, especially after Chapter 1. (Done 2x) Smuggler (Done once) - Not sure why the Smuggler even does any of what he does past Chapter 1 (especially if he's Dark Side). He's rich, He's a legend. He can retire to some paradise planet. But instead he (voluntarily!) becomes Diet Trooper for Chapters 2 and 3. The Chapter 2 Finale is bad in that it could have been so much better if the Chapter had actually built up to that mission/event instead of being dropped onto your lap last minute. Does have funny lines and great moments, which saves it from the pit of mediocrity that is the... Trooper - Just bleh. I did not hate it, but I sure as hell don't love it. But it does not even have the decency of furnishing you with the funny or epic moments that the Smuggler story brings. Except maybe Jaxo. Yes, she is the highlight of my Trooper experience. And that's sad. Once was enough.
  4. What's done is done. If you were planning to level via KDY this weekend, I know, it's annoying, but you'll just have to adjust. Or don't play this weekend. Spend time with your family and your friends. Go out, see a movie. Wait for the next 2XP event. I mean really, what did you expect? Of course it isn't working as expected this time. Having low expectations is always the best approach when it comes to events/expansions of this particular game. In fact, I fully expect that the patch to fix this will break three other things. Maybe all the gear on my 55s will disappear. Maybe all our achievements will reset to nothing. So if the patch fixes the problem and breaks nothing, then I'll feel good. Maybe I will celebrate with a pizza. The sad truth is this: if you want to play a Star Wars MMO, as I do, these guys are the only game in town. Right now the enjoyment I derive from the Star Wars IP still outweighs all the bugs and screw-ups in the game and its management, but it's things like this that start to tip the balance the other way. I hope Disney commissions another Star Wars MMO soon, to a better developer, and we can all move on.
  5. I do nothing but PvE. PvP is that thing I do sometimes while leveling for some EZ XP. Now that KDY is available from 15-54, i suspect I will be doing even less PvP-. I will never own this rancor mount. And you know what? It doesn't bother me. Let the PvP-ers have their exclusive mount. 90% of the quest and reward mounts are PvE anyway. Is their mount more awesome? Yep. Is it more exclusive? Yep, you have to be rated pretty damn high. Are these good things? Yes.
  6. CS Emailed me IRL and in game to send me the missing canisters. Thanks to them for the quick response, but I do hope bugs like these get caught before they get released. People get panicky when they don't get their mission rewards, know what I'm sayin'?
  7. I don't receive my DNA Canisters, either for my lvl 30 Sniper Dm'itri and lvl 45 Mercenary Shiva'z for The Tunnel Network Daily. Both Characters on server Harbinger. I don't know if these are character specific issues or could hit any character in your account at any time. Submitted a ticket and updated it, but no reply from Customer Service so far...
  8. Based soley on aesthetics, Soa's still got the top spot. Raptus' Reality Show 'So You Think You Can DPS/Tank/Heal' is a lot of fun. As for PUG-Killing ability, Dread Palace's final fight seems to wear that crown firmly on its head. ___________________________
  9. Yep, had those same thoughts while watching the movie. I kinda extended it all the way to the someone important (Not saying who in Thor 2, but kinda equivalent to the jedi master Malgus killed) being stabbed by the bad guy who walked in.
  10. What's a leveling curve? Is the accelerated rate of gear obsolescence a factor in your dislike of quicker leveling? I personally like the idea of Double XP weekends. More 55 alts =
  11. Hi all! Any Noypi Imp or Pub guilds on The Harbinger? Got a few toons on each side
  12. Awesome threads, man . I only wish my Marauder could get enough social points to pick up the various pieces to begin with. Really wish social points were shared legacy wide
  13. I know they're never going to give us free game time, but how about some in-game credits for compensation/mollification? Even a minuscule amount like 15 grand a week for us players over here on the Asia Pacific side of things? A mini-pet? A letter addressing us to apologize for the inconvenience of trashing our prime time? SOMETHING? ANYTHING? /endwhine
  14. Thanks. I guess that means more downtime on prime time for the Asia Pacific people. Thaaaaaaaaaaaanks, BioWare. /sarcasm
