  1. Revan originates from Knights of the Old Republic. In that game you could choose to play as a jedi knight, consular, or scout. Story wise, both knight and consular are great leaders that unite people to fight a common enemy, which fits well with Revan's story.
  2. Forums are negative for every game. The people who are having fun are in game, playing, not on the forums complaining. Don't worry, the negative people are the vocal minority.
  3. I don't get the whole "the game is going to shut down" thing. Some of the oldest MMOs (Everquest, Dark Age of Camelot, Anarchy Online) are still going after all these years. In fact, it seems rare for a MMO to shut down at all.
  4. I really want to like GSF, but as a starting player, I have 0 chance to do anything besides die constantly and let my team down. It's not fun at all. That's why pvp in most mmos is not fun, too gear dependent.
  5. I always thought "toon" was how older people said "character." But now I'm in my 30's and I still wouldn't use that term. Reminds me of my dad calling CD's "records" when I was a teenager. "Ugh. Dad. You are so uncool." I actually have to communicate to people in real life about game characters and saying "toon" sounds really unprofessional. But even in a very casual setting, I'd be just plain embarrassed to tell my friends we should log on our "toons." Edit: I just wanted to mention the reason most of us say "character" is because many games refer to them that way. "Choose your character." I try to adapt to what the game calls them. "Champions" in League of Legends, "Heroes" in Heroes of the Storm, etc.
  6. I had always hoped that my Inquisitor would get to spend more time with Marr.
  7. What Class are you attempting the Chapter on? - Sith Assassin Were you in the Chapter prior to today's maintenance? If so, how far into it? - No, just started earlier today. Cannot interact with the Access Terminal to get past "Use Access Terminal."
  8. Haha, if you actually read people's posts then you'd know their excuses were stuff like being out of town for a funeral, being in the hospital, large amount of medical bills, expired credit card, among others. Also, no one in this thread has been demanding early access or being entitled to anything other than the people who actually got in to the EA and feel they are entitled and want to keep those of us who made a mistake out of it. In fact those people are so entitled to their little bonus that they have threatened to cancel their subs and demand repayment if Bioware lets other people in to the early access. It's just a funny statement to say "I can read" when you obviously did not read this thread, but feel the need to post your opinion on it.
  9. Many (yellow) mission items don't always grant quest credit when they are looted. This might be because of auto-loot. Many times the player must loot the item again or reset the quest in order to get credit. Sometimes the mission item will be unique and the player will be unable to loot it again to get credit and finish the quest. Sometimes it will be the last item needed for a multi-stage quest, so resetting the quest is a lot of wasted effort. http://i.imgur.com/Fyn4mM6.jpg Edit: Also forgot to mention that you can't even delete the mission item to allow you to loot a new one. Your only option is to reset the quest.
  10. This is pretty much where I went wrong. I thought the asterisk was for the in game rewards, not the early access. I was used to other games that give early access to all subscribers.
  11. I was kind of hoping this thread could be something that Bioware sees and understands what mistakes not to make next expansion. I never expected so many people that needed to defend them. I work for a company that has a forum, and seeing our customers' opinions on the forum is a very valuable way for us to see what they think. I think most of us posting how we feel mislead or cheated are trying to get EA/Bioware's attention. Not the attention of random forum goers who feel the need to let us know that we need to "l2read." We made a mistake, we get it. But Bioware can avoid upsetting their paying customers by having a clearer marketing campaign next time. Many people are NOT going to keep subbing because they feel like they were lied to. Many of us have payed hundreds or thousands of dollars to this game, and we missed out on early access because of a misunderstanding. Wouldn't it have been a better business decision to let us have the early access?
  12. Plus, this is the 3rd expansion and the other two gave us the rewards for preordering or subscribing by a certain date, and they were much more clear. "Subscribe by this date, get a reward." I understand that it's our own faults for not reading all the fine print to look for loopholes, but many of us just trusted that this deal was the same as the previous two expansion.
  13. "Choose to buy a Hyundai from August 10th to October 19th." This is how other companies use this terminology. I never took it to mean to buy a Hyundai every single day from August 10th to October 19th. You guys don't need to white knight for this kind of thing. It would be really cool if companies could just plainly say, "You must be subscribed from AUG 10 to OCT 19 to get early access" right on the advertisement instead of some hidden disclaimer at the bottom. Maybe you think it's fine the way it is but you could at least try to see how other people could get confused by it. They could have picked clearer wording to avoid confusion, but they didn't. It's obvious they wanted to try to trick people in to resubbing early. Otherwise we would have just waited until after October 27th, if at all. I just think it's a bad decision to allow players who returned for the expansion to begin losing interest before the expansion is even officially released just because of a misunderstanding. The reason I care is because I love this game, I want it to do well. I wasn't subscribed for September or early October for some health reasons, and now I'm going to lose out. I'm also a founding member, so I've been around for a while.
  14. I came back to this game because Bioware sent me an email. They could have sent me that email in July saying that I could get early access if I subscribed from now until October 20th, but they didn't. They waited until October 15th, when it was too late, and they didn't say that it was too late. They sent me a direct link to a website that said, "Choose to be a Subscriber from August 10 to October 19 to receive the Early Access Bonus Reward!" This kind of sounds like "become a subscriber during this time and get early access." Not "maintain a subscription continuously during this time." I bet that's what happened to a lot of people. I don't really care that much, I have other games to play. But I do feel like people who spend the next week playing a different game might not come back, which might not be a good business decision for Bioware.
  15. I just wanted to say that I resubscribed because I received an email on October 15th that said, "Last chance for Rewards! Subscribe by October 19th to get the Knights of the Old Republic Inspired Swoop Bike and more!" This email had a link that took me to this page: http://www.swtor.com/fallen-empire/rewards I took that to mean that if I subscribed as soon as I got the email, which I did, I would get early access and the Swoop Bike. Why else is the box highlighted in orange as if I can still earn it? Why doesn't it say anywhere that it is too late to earn that reward? I feel mislead and disappointed. edit: Also, I did notice today that it does have a disclaimer saying that you need to earn all four rewards to qualify for early access, but this disclaimer is past the "characters" and "chapters" pages, the pages that many people who don't want spoilers will try not to look at.
