  1. Thanks for the info. I noticed my gear has red text to indocate it is no longer applicable, but I assume that's just hte set bonus then, and the mods are still active
  2. This just occurred to me. I'm assuming mods are no longer available. I haven't checked this so I could be entirely wrong. The cartel market has all sorts of unmodded gear. What if I had bought that and wanted to mod it so that it would be usable. I can't now? Assuming I wasnt crafting and don't have a huge stockpile of mods from 6.0. And I didn't check crafting either. Has it changed yet again?
  3. Yeah I was saying that earlier. Even without double xp. if you do all the planet stuff as you level, you can get 50+ by the third planet, and 75 by Alderaan.
  4. I don't play WOW but I have loads of single player games I could be doing. Changes to group content are fine but this is bad for solo players. Especially if they're limiting several objectives to below 50. It's absurdly easy to get leveled past 50 these days, so even people still doing story content will be locked out of a lot of conquest points. I don't think they have thought this through. Also, having only the starter planets open to level 50+ conquest will make them hell for new characters.
  5. To get conquest it helps to have the 150 bonus from your strongholds, which is a huge help, and is very very expensive. People suggesting this often forget just how much they spent getting their own bonus via strongholds. Is it necessary? Again, no, but again, its a grind to get them. Time or credits.. or real money, which was the entire point of my post. You and JQ seem to be ignoring that and assuming I was complaining about the credit sinks. I wasn't. I had a good chunk of CC that I used to buy a hypercrate. Sold it for 200 mill a few months ago before the price dropped. That easily paid for all the extras I needed at the time. So yes, I've got all the things. 12 level 75's in i306 gear. Not BiS because, again, I'm ignoring the credit sinks like amps (the Anthem version was so bad they imported it to SWTOR *rolls eyes*). Also I can't be bothered. My stats are good enough for what I do, and then some. I have friends how have returned to the game and can't afford all that stuff though. Not everyone has sat on accumulated CC for 8 years (some subbed, some just the 100cc for the security key) like I did. If I didn't I'd be sitting on about 4 mill per character, unable to afford all the strongholds and other stuff, not to mention amps. And that's ok. The game is totally playable like that. You don't need 306 gear to get through most of the content. You don't need level 50 companions, although they help in some situations. Also it boggles my mind that you think "running story mode KOTET" is "all" I do. I was just saying thats how I got my first 4 million on most of my characters. As I said in the reply to JQ, I also solo or duo FP like Red Reaper to get all the gear I have, among other things with my guild. You think I just stop playing after defeating Valkorian and roll another character? lol. Sure and some of those goals may take massive amounts of credits some people don't immediately have. /shrug indeed
  6. Two opinions, actually, one of which you cut out. It agreed with your opinion. The facts and logic were (hopefully) further down, but I guess you didn't get that far. Bottom line, IF the credits we can reasonably earn exceed the costs the game expects us to pay to earn those credits, then no problem. Right? And they do, for the most part, if you don't expect to pay for stuff that exceeds your income while playing the game. As for the other poster's question about why I need level 50 companions.. well, they do help with solo combat/healing, and crafting crits. It's part of the game. Why would I not? Is level 50 necessary? Probably not, but people keep telling me I should have a couple on each character to be able to play effectively. Especially when douing (or soloing) MM or even Vet flashpoints.
  7. Why is it that whenever here is a criticism of a game, defenders of the game have to drop in and throw out such condescending and absurd defense, while putting down the complainers. Can't we all just use facts and logic to prove our points? Oh wait, this is the internet. Yes. The credit sinks are absurd. And yes, may of them can be avoided or ignored. For instance, crafting is too expensive. 500k to unlock each crew skill to 700 for every one of my crafters. Then to buy the items needed you either spend ridiculous amounts of money on the GTN or accumulate massive amounts of Jawa scrap. Is there a way around that? Of course! You can spend the time to harvest stuff yourself, play content that earns you those items, etc. Eventually you'll earn enough currency to afford what you want to do. But that all takes time. So this is both a credit sink and a time sink. If you don't have the time to put in, as is the case with many of us, then you have to pay cred its. But you can't get credits without spending the time. Or can you? **side eyes the cartel market and gold sellers** Another credit sink is 4 million to buy gifts for ONE companion to get them to 50. Thats buying the purple gifts on fleet for 10k a pop. Oh, you can buy the gold border gifts that give 4 times the influence, but those cost a whopping quarter million. That's an insane and unreasonable price jump. Just playing the story, A character of mine can go from 0 credits at level 1 to maybe 4 million by the end of KOTET. This is enough to buy gifts for one companion to get the to 50. But then what do I do to earn another 4 million? Spend hours and hours per day that I don't have running dailies and heroics, to maybe make 500k per day? Or go without, which is what JediQuaker seems to be saying. So yeah credit sink or time sink, or pay real money to get it faster. That's the nature of gaming these days, isn't it. But is it a good system (for the players)?
  8. The title is accurate. That’s why it’s there. They are a waste of time and money.
  9. Robert, you mentioned you run pve space missions a lot. I haven’t done those in years. Do you need to gear up your ship still to be able to do those decently? How would you do that? The ship parts for seem to be craftable anymore
  10. I’m not sure what your point is here. The quote is saying it’s not like the dantooine daily is needed to make conquest. And that’s that the poster later is insisting he said. Or was it about KP farming? I forget. Lol In any case, 2 days in and I’m yet to get conquest on anyone despite doing stuff on the list like dantooine and taris heroics. Yay! Easy conquest. That’s sarcasm by the way.
  11. I know people who are getting tank gear on their healers too. At 75. For some reason I always get the correct gear though. Well, from bosses. The random loot drops from trash is always completely random.
  12. Just curious, not disagreeing or anything, but why is it an issue if people want to run kp or not? I’ve never run it in my life, and likely never will. But if that’s how others want to spend their time, no skin off my nose.
  13. What Steve said, and launch it using the missions terminal on your starship
  14. So I’m curious. I’ve been able to get up to 10 characters to conquest doing dailies or heroics, or flashpoints. But I don’t see myself ever getting 18. When I try for my 10 it takes all the game time I have to complete. Do you just play more hours than me? What do you do that gets you conquest so easily? In any case, the upcoming changes may make it even easier so that would be nice, being able to finish content and still get it, rather than making it my only focus.

    Noob pvp question

Thanks, it’s probably the companion thing. I didn’t pay attention to it.

    Noob pvp question

So, I don’t pvp usually. But something strange happened last night that I though you all might answer. So someone ninja challenged me to a duel out of the blue. Normally I’d reject it and go on my way. But I wasn’t paying attention. I was on my commando The other guy was on a shadow. What happened was, I could damage him but every time I got him to about 2/3rds health maybe, he would heal himself to full. I have basic heals and I couldn’t do that. It can’t be a medpack as those are single use. And I thought the companion heals were disabled during a duel. Maybe I’m wrong on that point but it didn’t look like my companion was helping me. Is there another skill I’m missing that they might have used?
  17. We can still see Ancina on the imp side, and she can die in exactly the same way. I’m sure he will be back. He was never a big part of any expansion.
  18. I ignored about 10, gave up and turned off Gen chat.
  19. Yeah, the same could be said of the alliance crates. They even have the silly celebration animation when you open one.
  20. I wish it were true that BioWare bans credit sellers. Sadly they are now numerous than ever. BioWare as the seller? Well that’s perfectly acceptable then. To them. Lol. I doubt we will see that any time soon though.
  21. I only group with guildies these days, and talk to them on discord. I’m enjoying playing my shadow dps and assassin talk. I feel no desire to buy stuff on the CM for them though.
  22. BioWare bans credit sellers. They don’t like the competition. 😛😄
  23. Yeah, like jack up credits needed to craft, repair gear etc, in the hopes you’ll buy cartel market stuff to resell just to stay afloat. I’m mostly joking. *adjusts tinfoil hat*
