  1. and BW has always followed through on promises, right?
  2. at this point, i think pointing at WoW is just plain silly. doesn't matter how long they take on content, they don't have to go to f2p
  3. you would think that someone, anyone, at BW would by now be raising their hand at group meetings and say "..umm guys...you think we may have been wrong about some things" OR maybe they only want a small niche community of players and don't have designs on being very massive. if thats the case, then I would have to agree with those that say get rid of most of the servers. they're only alienating the few players left on those servers.
  4. IMO, it does matter. Just think about the number of subs swtor started with and has now. Now, how do we view the game with those numbers if it cost 5 million to make? 150million? 300million? At 5 million cost, this game has done remarkable. At 300million, well....maybe we view it different. (just to give 2 extremes). Now, who else looks at it that way? EA. If the game is viewed as a success, then it gets more investment in talent and dollars. If its viewed as a failure, then EA starts to cut its losses, talent gets reassigned, etc. etc. So yeah, I think it matters.
  5. I tend to think that its not because there isn't enough to do....its that its just a pain to do. all the load the screens, having to use the ship, airlocks, etc. etc. I actually think the dailies are fun, but I never do them all. sometimes, i don't even bother going to corellia because its a pain and then if you leave fleet you may miss on an fp chance (not likely you'll see a group forming, but stranger things have happened). In addition to the group finder (which should be x-server) and x-server pvp, they should put portals...err...shuttles in certain choice locations. like a shuttles from fleet to ilum, belsavis, correllia and maybe shuttles on those planets to the others. put shuttles on leveling planets that lead to the next one. game should be fun to play. not a chore. If I wanted it to be work without fun, I'd go back to Wow. they're experts at that.
  6. well, you're still here, so not well enough I suppose...
  7. yeah, usually (depending on your server population), when you start you can holler in general chat and group with a player or two and just blow through the starter world in no time..
  8. as you apparently paid money for a game you clearly didn't like, i'm not sure what you have to laugh at...
  9. Its not even that simple on crowded servers. last weekend on fatman during primetime, a tank and I (healer) couldn't even get 2 lousy dps to join a level 50 fp group after more than an hour of spamming fleet chat. and there were >200 on republic fleet at the time.
  10. My first reaction to this is negative...of course thats easy for me to say as I play on a crowded server with pretty good faction balance. I understand there are servers out there where (especially for republic) getting the queue to pop 6 times in one day is going to be quite challenging (forget about trying to win). So it seems its an unfortunate, but necessary band-aid brought on by the probems of server population and faction balance. x-server queue would have been better fix imo.
  11. nothing? If you call >2 million box sales "nothing," I'd love to have that kind of nothing..
  12. Yes, because that would be much less reliable than the random guy who posts that all servers are dead with any evidence in support.
  13. Son of a B****!!! I didn't even realize this was going on. Checked today and sure enough, i've been gimping my leveling... thanks for posting this
  14. my only complaint as well. especially when swtor is not very group friendly to begin with (ie, no lfg tool), tying the title to putting together ops with plenty of 50's in it just made it that more unreasonable. even on fatman, you could spend hours and hours waiting and spamming and never see any ops groups forming for the event bosses. obviously, i imagine well established guilds had no difficulty
  15. i agree people (especially on these forums) make up their own statistics and like to pull numbers from every orafice possible. however, some of us have first hand experienced their server "die" (as in, only is listed as light now and never has more then 15 ppl on fleet). didn't make that up. we're not all rerolling to fatman on a whim.
  16. trying to get new players is hardly desperate. its expected. They should have a free trial going all the time.
  17. whoah wait. you resubbed to the "worse game" you ever played?
  18. /sigh...seems like such an easy solution doesn't it? what are the odds we'll see it implemented?
  19. this is not a problem of "game content" imo. rather, subscriber management. I think BW has done great with the former and not so great with the latter. I'm starting to wonder if they have anyone in charge with significant MMO experience, becase they seem oblivious to what's going on. This server issue is a big deal and they don't seem to have a clue what to do.
  20. you're absolutely correct. the players on the dead servers could have just unsubbed. i'm sure that would have been better for bioware.
  21. exactly. rerolling bites. i'm not doing it again. #OccupyFatMan
