  1. Absolutely why I unsubbed today to join the 'rest' of my guild that went back to WoW. PS: DIE CARTEL MARKET, DIE
  2. So much win here. Leaving today, unsubbed. What a way to go out - at least with a smile. Thank you! PS: DIE CARTEL MARKET, DIE
  3. I have left as of today. Unsubbed. Once 2 months worth of updates apply, I'll be logging in and kicking everyone from my guild but my friends and my toons. Just in case Bio gets their **** together in a year or 2... Haven't played in 2 months. Went back to WoW. Since I haven't been there since SWTOR release - lots for me to do. SWTOR should copy their LFR like they have most everything else. Sure everyone will know where the idea is from (LFG right??), but then raiders would still have 'some' sort of avenue for their millions of Alts that Bio has encouraged everyone 'to create' over the years, to keep those monthly subs cranked. So many 2x, 12x, now 6x stretches.. I got max toons fallin' out of my pockets wherever I go.. 'oh excuse me, oh that's my 3rd Jug tank, let me pick that up before someone steps on it.' 'Star Wars' pulled me here, friends kept me here. Bioware has sent me elsewhere. This is not the game it once was, and what it's turned into is unappealing to me as an MMO player. (You had me at 8 stories; lost me at 1 story). I hope this 'expansion' and where they are taking SWTOR stays profitable or at least has a long maintenance window, if nothing else but to exist for those that still find it fun to play. Toodles PS: Op, your options are too narrow and obtuse. So I take option 2... Option 1 is just BS glowy items that they sucker in fools with to make money. PPS: DIE CARTEL MARKET, DIE
  4. Bit biased selections, but I get where you are trying to go with this. None of the above. I know, I know you want 1 crappy answer, or 1 piss-poor answer - which is exactly what both are. (no Offense to you OP - like I said I know where you are trying to take this..). This entire 'chapter per month' crap is just THAT. I won't pay for chapters like this again - in ANY game, ever again. Extremely, EXTREMELY poor experience, done to milk it's player base. Look - it's not the players fault that Bio can't make captive content, now is it?? If they did, you wouldn't have to worry about people 'leaving after 1 month' or whatever.. Quit screwing around, make content and quit milking us in the CC market with friggin shinies for the 'OMG shinies!' crew.. Who then after they get their shinies - still complain about lack of content as loud as anyone else..... (Die, Cartel Market.. DIE...) If it were a decent story - maybe they could have pulled it off. As is... It's completely unbelievable - even for a sci-fi made-up universe.. (AKA - nothing in KOTFE falls NEAR to Canon - Old OR New in SWTOR, or in the SW universe at large). Except that Lightsaber. You know. That one that floated their CC Market the past 2 months... Yah, that lightsaber. The only 'hey look, I am a Star Wars game trying to connect with that new Star Wars Movie!" item out, and they are pinching people stupid enough to roll dice to get it. Oh yah - this Q was about Story? It lacks cohesiveness. It lacks an overall narration that it NEEDS to fill in the TONS of missing information about '*** is going on here??'.. Poor handling of companions that have spent years with our characters (you know, those folks..). I'm a SW fan - this story left me with my jaw hanging open going 'When is this KOTFE going to get Star Warsie beyond the lightsabers??' The worst thing - the move away from 8 character classes. Oh I know - this isn't a new thing just with KOTFE! I've heard all the explanations I can stomach from the 'apologists' and 'White Knight' SWTOR Ragers/defenders.. I don't really care to hear excuses - I'm telling you what brought me to this game years ago, and what has most OBVIOUSLY disappeared. Defined Character class stories, and group content that pulled it ALL together to where it made sense, and you 'wondered' what was next. THAT was good storytelling. Back to that Narration bit.. Just imagine if 'someone' in the SWTOR universe was helping to 'narrate' us through this now easy-as-pie one-direction story.. If you're going to be all STORY. You better break out Morgan Freeman for Pete's sake!!?! I've watched 2 guilds I run and 3 I participate in across 2 different servers, become ghost towns due to no new group content, and '1 size fits all' lackluster storytelling. Everyone to a T, has left due to monthly content that is NOT holding interest, and LACK of group content to do while we piddle around WAITING for entertaining content (supposedly Chapter 13, where our selections 'start to matter!'). **INSERT Ray Liotta laugh here!!** This is also my last month - of all friggin things I am headed back to WoW where nearly all my former guildies have gone to. I play MMO's for the social. That is originally what MMO's were about since MUDS, for me.. Group interactions, 'massively multi-player' . Now.. just buggy, monthly chunks of 'rinse and repeat' crap story on Rails.. BTW - Choice 2, because at least 8 different CLASS stories would be worth spending a month or 2 more on every now and then. In my best Forrest Gump voice.. 'Sorry to break up your storyline questions party..'
  5. You've tossed out some ignorant one-line zingers before, but this one will be bronzed and hung at the door..
  6. CONTENT - I don't know, call me old fashioned, but in games I play - I like to PLAY them not play dress-up barbie doll all afternoon with expensive pixels, blowing my money on RNG then complaining the rest of the afternoon I didn't get the clothes I wanted to dress my SW barbie dolls..
  7. 5/10 Pros Yes, as you said - there were some good moments there (Muhahahaha...) The interlude story bits - the shining part of SWTOR as always. Blizz! What can I say I like companions you can punt if they get out of line. Kaliyo is still the same ************** that she was previous - appreciate that continuation stack increase - in fact the majority of QoL things I have found so far in 4.1 - good and finally? Cons Forced combat. My first character through happens to stealth. Useless! WTH use is it to build a character class then disable it on us? Combat seemed to 'stretch' the chapter out - unlike the first 9 where it seemed to flow better with what was happening in the story itself. What is with those 'slow' dots? (more 'stretching' of combat...) Still no Group quest options/events A new FP would be nice - months of SF and it appears nothing but SF in between 1hr or less of content for months to come is.. Not encouraging as the only 'new' group content around. No Ops - not even a hint at it on the Twitch today (I watch as more raider friends leave...) My 'awesomesauce 2 days advance access' due to being a sub on yada yada YADA date.. Ruined as Subs are just beta testers for bugs.. Not that this is NEW in SWTOR, but the bugs after release have gotten WORSE, and the really bad ones (you know, the credit scam ones that you take 8 weeks to fix, or the ones where maint stretches oooooh, all day?) seem to go un-noticed until the forums erupt in pitchforks and torches! I don't see Bio doing anything about that either - it's turned Subscriber's 'advance access' into nothing but a bug test run on paying customers. Salt in the wound. That is all.. This half-full cup kinda guy - is starting to drink that water as he gets thirsty for Bio to step up to the plate here...
  8. Really though - unless you are a new player; the GTN is the answer to gear. Buy it all. Even a gold set - what's 10 mil to drop on a gold set? (Sith Reclusive comes to mind - I think I got that for about 8 mil all accounted for, then unlocked it for *400* CCs for any toon I wanted to use pieces of it for..) Use your monthly CC's for the ridiculous unlock legacy costs they impose, which have only gotten worse.. I get the buying of CC's to get what you think you want - I did a few times (before these crappy packs all started coming out). Never again for me, my millions have a place to go now (this game is easier than gumming pudding to make money in..) I am glad to see Cartel Market woes. It is the cancer to this game and so many other MMO's (pay 2 wear crap) - it drives a good deal of personnel and creativity away from 'game building' itself and into 'quick sales' skins, reskins, and recolors of reskins... If all these items (mounts, armor, weapons) were 'ingame' and exclusive to actually *doing* something, they would have a lot more excited players looking for *content* (oh wait they already do..) and not the next pack to blow $ on so they can buy mad-looking lootz (I mean mad looking - what *is* some of this stuff these days??) All pack and cc disagreements aside; Imagine if you will - the last 4 packs (6-8 months of work?) worth of items thinned down to the actual *good* stuff, then distributed across PVE, PVE Raid, and PVP goals/objectives (new maps/raids/FPs - where the existing CC market folks working hours would go to - or new hires with the skillset would put their time to). How much of the uproar on the forums would *not* be happening? Heck, all the crazy changes they 'did' make (level sync, companions, affection, skills, crafting, yada yada YADA) would have rolled off many backs if they had 'content' with new, good looking 'rewards' behind them? (Yes yes, people will find something to complain about - complaining is fine it draws attention to problems. This certainly would have stopped so many unsubs and entire communities of players from leaving.) Die Cartel Market. Die.

  10. This. Plus to find Hilts, I have to search and look under Barrels, as another obvious screw up of the GTN currently. Not everything for sale actually shows up either, as pointed out to me by a guildie who put 3 hilts up for sale - and only 1 showed (the other 2 were not bought; they came back to him in mail eventually 48 hrs later, while the 1 hilt showing sold in like 4 hours.) I searched on it for him an hour after he made the auctions as he'd noticed this, and I saw only his 1 Hilt as well. (This is when I realized I also had to search under friggin' BARRELS to even find his hilt!) Yes - a ticket was submitted as I understand (this was on new years day) - no response as yet, however he didn't 'lose' his items thankfully so we expect a canned bot response at some point.. EDIT: to clarify these were lvl 64 hilts, that when you did a search of lvl 61-65 *nothing* was found nor a lvl search of simply 1-65 (the cutoff item lvl was at 60 on a 1-65 search for some silly reason I discovered) yet when I did a search under barrels 61-65 his '1' hilt showed up (remember he put '3' up, got 2 back in mail 48 hrs later with deposit), and also other lvl 64 and lvl 65 hilts for sale were showing up; a 1-65 barrel search also reveals the lvl 61-65 hilts.. Hilt searches don't though! I just did these searches again as a test to see if anything has been 'fixed' since, same results insofar as where 61-65 hilts show up (under barrels, not under hilts). This is on Ebon Hawk
  11. This whole thread is sorta funny to read - I get where you are coming from actually. I am of the latter (to a point). I do enjoy aspects of this game *solely* because I can still enjoy chapters 1-3 with friends - the 'social' aspect of the game. 50-60 - not so much, but enjoyable, if not the 'beginning of the end' for individual storylines - which TRULY brought so many to this game initially. (I know *I* came to get both Sith and Jedi storylines, and found along the way the non-force using stories weren't so bad either!) 60-65 - An absolute joke - great story just all fluff with not much to do (maxing toons in Star Fortresses got old after about the 6th one....). I hope the rumor going around that Bio Austin got their ***** chewed off in a recent EA board meeting about how they changed the MMO aspects of this game - are true. I love this game, because Star Wars. I loved it (even with all it's issues) for beta and 2 years or so after (Makeb, a love/hate thing really..). Truly only the social keeps me here and I'm about to get my entire guild (not that many, don't fret fanbois and fangurls!) to part SWTOR with me for just about anything else (And that will happen - these are RL friends, all playing due to my 'manipulations'.) That's just stated as a fact, not to raise anyone's ire - if you enjoy this game please continue to do so and recruit others! So yes, I'm a half full cup sorta guy, who is down on Bio for their terrible game decisions recently - IMO. That's MY O and I'm sticking to it. (No need to rebuke folks - just roll with it and do your own thing....!)
  12. I'll buy you a beer at the next Cantina. This - not in a nutshell but clearly spoken and felt by a fair % of the userbase. Doesn't have to be all of us. Where this idea recently came from that has also crept into our society and into our politics and even our video games that it has to be 'all my way, or no way' - we gotta stop it somewhere. Here is as good a place as any. Bio, get back to making SWTOR for 'all' player types and not the ones your sales and dev team seem to be focused on solely. ('nuff said)
  13. What is your point? Are you trying to say that only 'older' people should have Morals, or that by showing he/she has Morals and doesn't tolerate cheating - they must be older and certainly a parent? Or are you saying because he called a poorly written, whiny 'oh woes me I got banned I don't ever do anything' post exactly what it is - that they are somehow 'wrong' and 'must' be a parent (thus- uncool by your standards?). What exactly 'are' you saying here, besides wasting wind? Once you actually get older - you don't have time or energy in a 'real life' to actually cheat because simply - why? (If you don't understand the position - give it a few more years..) Except - those without morals in the first place..
  14. I mish-moshed 2 different MP movies for a few lines, then went all scatterbrained on my own because.. Squirrel!
  15. Summary, and a bit more gently put I hope - I hope Bio has some employees and CS service working through the holidays while some are on vacation, that have the capacity to fix the current event bugs, still occurring as the SW movie premieres *tonight* and could very well start to bring *potential* new subscribers to SWTOR *right now* who may find things buggy/not working, and be put off. Please fix kthnx
  16. Ahh yes, that is indeed a good one - grouping. Yes, that link is a great description of MMO forum discussions in general; It only takes 3 posts before.. Squirrel! No it wasn't, that was a North African fruit bat.. How do you *know* it was a North African fruit bat? Well.. It turned me into a Newt! (intense internal discussion about Newts - a quick google lookup, some links to youtube Newt videos commences - then out of the conflict) How many legs does it have? Squirrel! Bats don't have legs, DUH... You crazy bat**** person, bats have legs, you're being ignorant! Squirrels have legs! Wait.. Squirrels? Move this to off topic! Squirrels are in SWTOR I got one as a mount - wth man don't disrupt OPs thread?!! I think it was a Flying Squirrel - because #squirrellivesmatter That's racist - #allsquirrelsmatter Guys, guys.. I just found a pic - that is definitely an Easter Island Albatross.. How many legs does it have? Squirrel!
  17. Unless I'm mistaken, you missed one of the biggest ones yet, and the 'go-to' insult for Trolls across many MMO platforms - Can I have your stuff?
  18. Got 12 through too, back to making new toons, and doing h2's and SF's with friends - because it's the only place we can group and get our social on these days. Occasional Pug Ops for S&Gs, I just don't have the time any more for those (but I *want* them there for those who do and were here *for* them) If you're crazy - I'll join ya for a brew in the nuthouse..
  19. OP - simple answer... NO I wish that the time and effort they put in some sort of 'sidegame' with a now-dead companion, had been put towards more Chapter 1-9 optional group challenges (optional, read this clearly before trolling), and something for my Raiding brothers and sisters, and something sooner than 'we're working on it' for my PVP brothers and sisters. I understand this game might begin to sink if it relies on 1 fickle userbase; They had the trinity (PVP, Raid, PVE casuals) - they should have worked to maintain ALL of it at once. Poor design choices imho. I do like the story, although it wears by the.. 12th time now for me I think (I'm back to making new toons, than going forward with any more parked 60's..)
  20. Correct - about how far this easily could have gone with the bug running so long. A true hooligan hacker would take advantage of the bug, pile up some billions - 'sell' those billions of credits to actual gold farmers for 'real' $$, and then split. Anyone doing any less is a troublemaker for sure and should have the hammer dropped hard. It's the true hooligans that were in/out while this 4 week Bug was running, that are the ones laughing at Bio - as usual. You have to think like them to catch them - warfare (cyber) 101 Apparently 'another' job role at Austin Bio they can't fill due to EA's death squeeze - Cyber Security Expert. Such a person would have been slapping the devs in the back of the head until this was fixed, not let it roll for so long.
  21. I play all of them, imagine how an Alt'er feels.. Half my characters just got whacked!
  22. Refer a friend broken before movie release - the movie that is supposed to swell the ranks with casuals to fill in for all the PVPers and HC PVEers they just drove off? Forgetaboutit!
  23. Not unless you fancy yourself a Chiss, that is..
  24. Ya know what? I agree with your point, but you know what else? It's like your boss asking for a bi-weekly status update, and you just had a slow 2 weeks but need to jam SOMETHING in there to make it look like you were doing something other than working on your mad comb-over skills.
