  3. The free speeder is at the lowest level of speed. Once you reach the appropriate level and spend the money to train you can then buy a new speeder that'll go faster.
  4. You either didn't play LotRO at launch or you have a short memory.
  5. I just have to say I will love you eternally for having actually said moot point not the all too common 'mute point' that makes me want to kill people in their sleep. And I agree, it would be nice if there Huttball teams were more mixed up.
  6. Principle, not principal. They may be homophones, but they're not the same word. If you're going to argue about the definition of a word at least use the right word.
  7. Totally agree with this. It was a poor decision and very poorly phrased, talk about adding insult to injury. Just because someone does not have a level 50 character should not mean they are considered a lesser being than the exalted level 50s. I have 2 level 50s, before anyone says it. For damage limitation, BW should promise a repeat of this offer will be applied in future patches and will apply only to those who have not previously had a free 30 days. So in patch 1.3 people who get to 50 between now and then, and meet all other criteria, would receive 30 free days but people such as myself who got it this time around would not.
  8. Evidently I was not clear enough in my meaning, allow me to clarify. I am proposing this as an alternative option to paying with credits, not a replacement. So, let's say we set an equivalence of 1 Legacy Point = 50,000 credits. If you wish to purchase the ship repair droid upgrade which costs, if I remember correctly, 1 million credits you could pay either 1 million credits OR you could pay 20 Legacy Points, or even a mix of the two to come to the appropriate value. As for shafting solo players, that certainly would not be the intent. The first three ways of earning points I mentioned are all achievable without ever joining a group. Particularly on a PvP server so is earning Valour ranks. The list I posted was intended as examples, not as an exhaustive list. I'm sure there are other solo player friendly achievements that could be put in there.
  9. You mean 10 million per character right? No way could I settle for just 10 million across 8 characters!
  10. Assuming you mean 2pm BST, not actually GMT, we're at GMT+1 in the UK atm. 7pm for central Europe, 8pm for eastern Europe, 9pm for the Gulf. Should I also mention that at this time of year it would be only 9pm in Western Australia?
  11. Read the EULA, they don't guarantee a 24/7 service. If this is your first online game and you can't cope with this sort of thing then online gaming isn't gonna be for you. If it's not, then you should know the drill by now. It's just bad luck that you happened to buy it just before a major patch.
  12. For Aussies it's between 7pm to 9pm and 11pm to 1sm. Still no biggie?
  13. I think the big issue is the frequency of the patches but rather the fact they don't have different down times for the US, Euro and Oceanic servers. That is silly. I can live with the downtimes for Europe (though I play on a US server so that's just my tough luck), but it doesn't seem right to create a specific set of Oceanic servers and then drop them during prime time.
  14. I like the idea of the Legacy system, it has some great features. However, it's a credit seller's dream. I can imagine a lot of people are going to buy credits to purchase the expensive upgrades like the GTN terminal. So, my proposal is that an additional currency be added to the game based on Legacy achievements. It would work something like this: Each time you complete one of a list of Legacy achievements it would reward you with 1 or more Legacy Points. These could then be exchanged for purchasing the various Legacy upgrades. Depending on how easy they are to achieve and how many are available, I'd go for an equivalence of about 1 Legacy Point = 25-100k credits. Legacy Points would be awarded for things such as: Reaching 50 on a character Reaching 400 in a gathering, mission or crafting crew skill Completing all space missions on a character The first time you complete a flashpoint, then again for the first time you complete it on HM Completing operations Killing bonuses bosses in HMs Reaching certain PvP Valour ranks Achieving a new social rank Killing world bosses Some manner of diminishing returns system would be needed to prevent it being too easy to farm the points on multiple characters. Maybe 100% reward for the first time it's completed, 50% for the next character to do so and then 25% for each subsequent character. This way, people would have more choice as to how they want to earn the Legacy rewards, rather than being restricted to simply farming credits.
  15. I don't see an issue with it personally, I know they're talking about 'tomorrow' in terms of North America CST and I can work it all out from there.
  16. Compared to some folks, yes, compared to you lot here it would appear I'm far from it. I got my first toon to 50 in a few weeks, then my guild needed some tanks so I worked a tank up to 50, now I'm working on a BH, have them at 42 at the moment. Have several lower level toons I'm working on as well, mainly for crew skills.
  17. Obvious question first, you're all level 50, aren't you?
  18. Not a must at all. And let's not forget, it has its downsides. You'll get idiots who can't heal or tank filling those roles because it gets them into a group. Then you get cretins taking, for instance, tank gear when they joined as a DPS because they have a tanking off spec, or might one day make one.
  19. Aye, people should have the courtesy to store companions and vehicles in busy areas.

    Clickers

This is indeed something new MMOers need to learn and adapt to. You need to learn that there are a lot of inadequate idiots out there whose sole source of self-esteem is their perceived ability in an online game. To reinforce this they feel the need to put everyone else down. Adapting to this fact is however simple, you just need to use the ignore option and learn to mentally filter out the morons. Remember, not everyone's opinion is worth listening to. As for the click vs keybind debate, go with what works for you. While in general I find keybinding to be more efficient (especially when used with a control pad, I use the Saitek Pro Gamer Command Unit) I'm sure for some people it will be the opposite. Especially for people with health conditions like arthritis, carpal tunnel, white finger etc or for those with poor keyboard skills. For myself, I find a combination of clicking a few select skills and party / ops members and using keybinds for the vast majority of things to be the most efficient, but that's me. I'm not gonna belittle someone else for doing it differently.
  21. Yep, you need diplomacy to get the items to make blue and purple biochem items. So you'll need to be able to get them yourself or buy them from the GTN.
  22. Can't say I have a problem, unless I don't play a particular toon for a while and then go back to them, that can take a little while to get used to again. I use a Saitek Pro-Gamer Command Unit control pad, which I find easier for remembering what skill is where. Well, I'm not sure it's really remembering it as I'd struggle to actually say what skill is where, I more rely on muscle memory.
  23. The OP has to be trolling. SWG crafting was incredible, and it helped to build the community. I spent many happy hours hunting krayts to get tissues to have special order weapons made. And then made many of those credits back from the crafters by selling them resources, especially when there was a really good creature resource in spawn and I'd go out hunting on my ranger, or drop a load of harvesters. Remember crafter friends sending you tells asking you to clear out a nest of rancors so they could drop their harvesters? Like others, I had waypoints stored to numerous crafters for all manner of different items. Dunno why I bothered, I rarely used them, I could navigate there without them, I visited them often enough. Knowing who to go to for what items was awesome, and some of the stores / malls were decorated amazingly. Forget beastmaster, bioengineer was where the fun was! Masking scent and sneaking up on a mutant rancor to get a sample from it, then having to run like mad when it took exception to it. I used to love doing silly things like combining DNA from all manner of massive, scary animals and then putting it into a cute little bunny. And then there was the fun of needing a BE to destroy an enemy base and having to protect the non-combatant from all the grumpy people. By a very, very long way it was the best crafting in any game I've ever played.
