  1. Thank you, Op. You managed to describe exaclty how I feel whenever I step into the PvP forums. Bumping.
  2. I've always liked Gunslingers/Snipers. It's what I played in Beta, but using Cover was going to drive me nuts. So by the time launch came around, I decided against it. I think if Snipers/Gunslingers had more movement / kiting abilites, I'd be more interested in playing one. *Or* if Cover wasn't mandatory, but rather an added perk to use whenever it was appropriate. Sorry for the rant. Good video, it's refreshing to see a REPUBLIC playing an under appreciated class.
  3. Um. Premades consist of 4 players. If the requirement is 6 players, then a premade can't out vote the non-premade players. It's simple to understand. Also, if they add a system where there is a "cooldown" on the kick option, the chances of a premade repeatingly voting to kick someone will decrease. This will also encourage "smart" kicking, so you don't waste your vote to kick CD. I would rather a bad player than an AFK one. On a side note, I wouldn't kick an undergeared player. For all I know, that undergeared player is the best person on the team and they're going for the objective. Which, to me, is more important than the War Hero who doesn't care about winning or losing because he has all of his gear. Which results in him fighting on the road or running around Huttball getting solo kills, as opposed to the fresh 50 who is eager to win and gear up.
  4. I'm sorry for your server's imbalance. No one wins if the faction is that lop slided. On my server though, even if we're out numbered, we have the better players. Illum is usually 50v50 or somewhere along those lines. Our pvp guild help turn the tables in Illum with strategic battles, and running groups every night. Eventually it clicked for Republic that they *can* do it. It's gotten to the point where THE REPUBLIC are camping the IMPERIAL base. Pretty weird right? However, in order to get to that point, a lot of us re-rolled from Sith side in order to help the balance (a lot of us were Battlemasters). It's the players who cause the imbalance, but the Developer's sure made things lop sided in some cases.
  5. I wrote this big reply full of logic and reasoning, but in the end I deleted it because I'd be talking to a wall. A big, whiney, QQing wall, built with tears and nerd rage.
  6. Please, OP, don't play GW2, Tera or any newly released MMO. You might explode from the "incompetence" of Developers. On second thought...
  7. "The population is shrinking" "The populatin is growing" Fact is - NO ONE KNOWS FOR SURE (yet). Quit crapping on everyone's parade. Personally, my server went from having 50 or 60 Republic to over 100+ on the Fleet alone. Imperials outnumber us greatly still, and I don't know what numbers they have, but the Republic side is growing on my server. On My Server. Just because your on the very few Light servers, doesn't mean everyone else is experiencing the same decline. (And yes, I said very few because when it comes down to it, the amount of Heavy/Standard servers far outweigh the few Light ones) - I'm personally seeing growth. Does that give me the right to generalize everyone, everything, this game and it's community? Hell no. I can only speak for what I see on my own server.
  8. Thanks a lot for the info, I was honestly curious what the difference was between Light and Standard. I play on a Standard server but it's healthy for the most part. Illum is roaring between the two factions and I see quite a bit of PVP activity, which is why I was like "How is my server considered Standard?" - It seems "Standard" covers a large range of players.
  9. I found those pair of white pants on the auction house (orange quality). Front : http://i39.tinypic.com/d45l5.jpg Back : http://i44.tinypic.com/2d7soie.jpg I was really excited to find them since they match my mod set perfectly. Plus it's always rare to see a Consular in pants!
  10. I've noticed there is only one true caster "class" available to play, which also seems to be a popular choice amongst players. For someone like me, I don't care for guns or anything like that, I would rather cast spells. Which brings me to my question - Are there any future plans in adding in another class? Possibly a caster one like Sorc/Sage?
  11. You know when 2 children fight over something like food because it looks like the other child's pizza slice is bigger? That's how I feel about these threads. I think balancing classes or things of that nature are beyond the "average" players capability. *Usually* when someone asks for a nerf, it's to benefit himself above all else. The same could be said about those who don't ask for a nerf (depending on the situation). It's quite tricky to filter through all the B/S and to take into consideration real situations of unfair play. I'm not talking about the situations where "they ran away and healed themselves." If you take away a DPS classes healing abilities (Operatives, Scoundrels, Sorcs, Sages, Mercenary, Bounty Hunter), then other defensive cooldowns should be used to compensate (so really, it's a lose/lose). Not to mention there might be an overall issue of class awareness when people make these posts (aka ignorance of other classes, their abilities and cooldowns, etc). Let's be honest, the majority of the players who are upset might be bad players, or players who aren't even interested in the balance of the "other" class. Only in what will benefit themselves. And on that note, I would leave the balancing act to the Developers because God help us if they listen to these QQ threads.
  12. From a Sage healer PoV : Stay alive. Kite. Heal. Bubble. Interrupt. CC. Pull ball carriers. DoT cappers. Heal more.
  13. I hate orbital stations, air locks, hangars and elevators
  14. I played a Shadow priest for 5 years and I must say, Sage do feel like a mirror of them. I've seen shadow priests go from everywhere between FOTM to the weak link in Arenas. One difference though : As a shadow priest, I was a light weight "tank" in cloth but as a Sage, I couldn't be any farther from that. On that note, as a healer at level 50, I'm currently using a hybrid spec due to survivability issues and more kiting abilities (Yes, I'm a Battlemaster and yes I am facing other Battlemasters and War Heroes). Not to mention the end healing tree is garbage, so there's no need to use talent points in something that's not going to be as powerful as "Kinetic Collapse." Kinetic Collapse does an AoE "stun" that breaks on damage whenever your shield falls off (not useful during fights with AoE going around). I think one of the main reasons this talent is "OP" is because it's not applied JUST to the Sage, but to whoever you put your Force Armor on (from what I can tell, correct me if I'm wrong since I just spec'd it today). So as a healer, I'm spec'd for no CD on Force Armor + Kinetic Collapse. My build also includes "Force Wave" - which roots targets in place when they are hit with my knockback. All of these tools are too useful in PvP to pass up as a healer. Which gets me thinking, why aren't these tools down the healing tree as opposed to a DPS one? These "get away" tools help me survive as a healer, and contrary to popular belief, I'm good as dead against other BM DPS with out kiting. The trade off is that I can't DPS, these only make me annoying. So the fact that a DPS has these abilities might make them seem "OP." So yes, I think IT DOES come down to simple talent re-positioning. Who gets access to what? What should hybrids have? Personally, I'm squishy. I know I'm squishy and so does the other team, which is why I spend most of the Warzone kiting and LoSing. It's also the reason why I was "forced" (I'm using this word lightly) to take this hybrid spec to survive, not to mention our healing tree talents are garbage. I can't speak for DPS Sorcs & Sages, but from my end I never found them "ridiculous." (I've been up against quite a few Battlemaster geared Sages and Sorcs - They do hit like a truck, but no worse than the BM Operative and so forth.) Just like any other class (or most), given the right gear and put into the right hands, it can prove to be a dangerous combination.
  15. One thing is for damn sure, this RnG shenanigans is ridiculous. I have *the worst luck* - so the fact that I have to rely on it is silly. I could be a Battlemaster for weeks (if not months) and still get out geared by the guy who "just got lucky." I know a War Hero who is struggling to get his BM weapon. I also know a guy who had BM for not nearly as long as the War Hero, and he has full BM on his character AND HIS COMPANION. *facepalm* I agree with the OP. After grinding to Valor 60+, I don't want to play the RnG game. I don't like to gamble, period. So, maybe some people enjoy the thrill of "RnG", I however like a stable and fair system. If 3 guys hit BM at the same time, do the same dailies, play for the same amount of time, why is it fair that one of those guys will get screwed over by luck/RnG? "Earn" your gear? I agree, you should earn your gear. However "earning" your gear isn't reflected in the current system. Make the gear more expensive (hell, I don't even care if it's raised higher than 4), but don't make it by chance. If I'm going to spend months trying to get something, I want to know when, where, why and how I'm going to get it. PS: Right now I'm 1/15. I actually think that's pretty lucky for me, taking into consideration that I've never had any kind of luck with gear.
  16. Grats. ;] (early) Welcome to married life.
  17. Don't you have a vanish? I'm still leveling my Scoundrel (since I want all 3 healing classes, at the moment I have a 50 Merc and a 50 Sage). I heard a rumor that Operatives/Scoundrels are the most gimped in terms of healers. If anything, they need a buff if that rings true.
  18. Sorry, but when I see DPS hitting me for 3.5k-4.5k on a regular basis (against 500+ expertise), I don't see how one bubble can be that big of a deal to some people. I'm a healer though, I can't comment on DPSing. I easily outheal most Sorcs because of their sustained damage and because I can cleanse most dots. It's the burst classes I have issues with. I suppose if I was a melee, I'd get irritated at the hybrid specs. Personally, I think the cool talents need to be moved up the tree or make our end talents worth specing for. I mean, I assume most of this QQ is because of hybrid specs. PS: Putting a cast time on our shield? Really? You realize we have a cast time on EVERYTHING? Worst. Idea. Ever. On a side note, Sorc/Sages remind me of the Shadow Priests of Bioware. There is a debuff on our Shield, we can not stack it or keep recasting it. It is not efficient to have more than 1 Sorc healer in a Warzone, I would rather a strong single target healer instead (like a Merc).
  19. I hit Battlemaster and all I got was this stupid title. I opened so many bags and NO tokens. I was dumbfounded at the fact that they would change RnG for Cent and Champ, but thought it was a good idea to keep around for Battlemaster? I'm not even full Champion yet. >__< My guildie is a WAR HERO and he doesn't even have his weapon, let alone full BM.
  20. Pretty much. If everyone got a nerf, then everyone is on equal terms. Well, something to that extent anyways.
  21. Can I re-roll to whatever healer is God mode please? Because it sure as hell wasn't Sorc or Merc and I doubt it's a Scoundrel. I want to play that class. You know, the one that never dies and never gets focused. Free casting all day everyday. Playing a healer is a death sentence - we're the first ones to get targeted. I personally always have a tank or melee on me at all times, throwing me around the Warzone like a ragdoll. I actually had a team mate say one day "LOL I'm glad I didn't roll a healer, I would hate to get focused first all of the time." Please, please, PLEASE roll a healer. Hit 50. Come back and make this post.
  22. I agree that our animations are lacking in some areas. However Sorc's just shoot around lightning all day everyday. Lightning bolt, lightning bolt, lightning bolt. The animation that I hate is my channeling heal "Healing Trance" because it's invisible (which is good for dodging enemies attention, but bad in terms of being interesting). Someone was making a joke that Sage's are Earthbenders and it made me realize....they're right. I wish we had more spells that looked like "Disturbance" and "Salvation." /edit Oh, and I hate our Sage gear. I went from looking acceptable to looking like a hobo. A force gifted Hobo. It also makes my female character look like a man.
  23. This. Sometimes I just look at my team mates and say "0.0 You exploded." - There's not much to do when people are getting spiked as hard as they are, especially when you have 2 tanks knocking you around for days. Wtb an instant cast heal. HoTs coat the damage and the bubble helps the HoTs do their job but none of it means anything when your team mates blow up. It's necessary to have a tank around at all times. People who say healers are OP need to roll one. It's a reality check for sure.
  24. This made me LOL. Seriously, it's exactly how it went down today. Also, my guild and I tested out several theories today and we can comfirm it's not reflected with any of the following : 1. Flipping assaults/bases (we noticed that when bases were being flipped, we gained no valor. However we debunked this.) 2. AoEing (ground targeted and otherwise) 3. Getting a killing blow (I'm a healer and I was not DPSing at all, yet I still suffered from No Valor Gained.) 4. Leeching (buffing everyone and sitting idle will still give you no valor gained) 5. Player was killed recently (it's not the same message) This plan backfired. It's actually encouraging kill trades. So. It probably is some kind of "cap" that's dodged by dying every so often. However, after a certain amount of time, it will become more and more frequent. I was suiciding after every 2 or 3 kills. Unintentionally trading kills, because they had suiciders running into our zerg as well. Not working as intended. They shouldn't ninja patch a cap either. There were no clear Patch Notes stating "There is now a kill cap on Illum and it's XX amount of Valor/Kills a day/hour/whatever" - How are we suppose to know when enough is enough?
