  1. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...yes, please. Let us know about how wonderfully balanced and awesome PvP is in Wildstar!
  2. Just to bump this thread, there WILL be shenanigans on Oricon tonight! No Slack will begin spamming for yet again another player-generated social event. This time, let's break the server. For one hour, beginning at 8pm PDT, there will be a massive slugfest in an attempt to gain kills toward the "Scare Bear" title. With any luck, there will be representatives from the Republic (filthy, filthy Pubs) who will help us organize for a giant participation photo afterward. We hope to see you and whoever you want to bring, and we hope that it's a massive, fun throw down!
  3. Many thanks to <PvP Assassins> for coming out and supporting the first of what we hope is many events, and special thanks to <Gentlemen Gankers> for starting some great open world PvP. We will have to do that again, soon! Perhaps we all get our Scare Bear titles?
  4. Subjective assessment followed by totally unsubstantiated claim. Must be the official forums.
  5. Bolster has not yet been patched on the PTS. But hey, nothing like jumping the gun, right?
  6. "Because I should be able to 1v1 everyone else, and don't understand how class synergies and objective play works." "Because all my defensives were on cooldown, so he wiped the floor with me." "Because I don't know how to play my own class." "Hax, obv." That about covers it...
  7. I don't see what all the complaining is about. You're going to mod it, because modding it is going to be cheaper than buying all new aug kits and augments for the Obroan gear. I honestly don't care what it looks like, because my toons don't wear the stock gear, anyway. You can afford modding the gear by doing a couple day's worth of dailies. People will ***** about anything it seems.
  8. Pfft...Crit...you mean that redheaded bastard child that sits in the corner, silently sobbing over the memory of his former relevance while the other stats hit him with broom handles, whilst pointing and laughing?
  9. If you have partisan gear, wear it and max out your comms, both regular and ranked. On multiple toons if possible. Once 2.4 drops, use ALL your comms to get your best/favorite PVP toon decked out in as much Obroan and Conq gear as possible. Discard your Partisan gear like a one-night-stand (or hold a silent memorial for your now useless crap, if you prefer).
  10. But...but...but...demanding nerfs is easier!
  11. To those complaining about all the work they put into getting all the Conqueror gear: Welcome to the grind! This is the way this part of the game is designed to work. There's a gear grind in ops, and there's a gear grind in PvP. The PvP grind is nowhere near as obnoxious as it was when the highest tier was Battlemaster (gosh darn RNG boxes) and it's still easier to get full Obroan than it will be to get the highest tier PvE gear. Additionally, the ability to buy BIS mods and enhancements without having to grind entire pieces of gear takes even more pressure off the grind. Seriously, min/maxing PvP gear has never been easier. If you've been saving partisan pieces, sorry, but you're SOL. Take comfort in the fact that you can be full Conq in about a week, if you play consistently. There really is no reason to complain about having a PvP gear grind, especially when the gear is this easy to get, and even n00bs wearing non-exp gear get bolstered enough to make them competitive.
  12. Dulfy.net is about as reliable a site as you're ever going to get. The patch notes for 2.4 (at least as they were about 6 weeks ago) can be seen here. Partisan gear is being removed. There are always only two tiers of PvP gear; that which can be bought with regular comms, and that which can be bought with ranked WZ comms. People who PUG or only play regular WZs can still obtain ranked gear, they just have to grind a bit longer.
  13. There IS new PvP gear coming out, and it can be seen here. It will be level 65, and will replace Conqueror gear, with Conqueror gear taking the place of Partisan. Partisan gear will be phased out. If you're PvPing, try to max out your ranked and regular comms on level 55 characters, so that you can buy the Conqueror gear and replace it as soon as possible with the appropriate Obroan gear.
  14. Ran into constant lag spikes on Makeb Dailies, as well.
  15. Actually, I like the game quite a bit. I think that EA/Bioware made some SERIOUS missteps in the first year, and deserved a lot of the **** they took, but I've thoroughly enjoyed the content and interaction I've had playing this game. It's hard to believe that you'd stick with Darkfall for any length of time, considering the way loot is handled in PvP. A bit less forgiving than stuns, I think. I've seen better trolling...
  16. I wonder if OP realizes that this is one of the less skill/thought intensive PvP systems out there? If you want more complexity, you're going to hate it because it'll require more skill, which you're obviously unwilling to develop, seeing as you couldn't even hack it to level 35. If you want it to be less boring, you're going to hate it because it'll have a low TTK, and you obviously aren't handling defeat all that well. You wanna see what it's like to be helplessly stuck against an opponent that can treat you like a b--ch? Go play EVE.
  17. I'm going to go ahead and be an adult and tell you that, for the best advice for builds, it would be appropriate to go to the class section of the forums. The theorycrafters and people who play the ACs are going to congregate in their respective AC subforums. It's not that the PvP forum is useless, per se, but it's still finding its footing. I would say that 10% (feeling generous today) of the posts here are useful, and the rest are s#!t. Well, s#!t has uses as fertilizer, and sometimes dogs will eat it, so I'm probably being too nice. The reason you're catching so much hell is that the Smash/Sweep spec is generally regarded as OP. In my opinion, the only thing that makes it OP is its ease of use and the way it can imbalance a match if there are multiple smashers in the same WZ. Other than that, anyone with a working synapse or two can recognize a smasher and mitigate the amount of damage he can do rather quickly. I'm one of the "GET-OFF-MY-LAWN" types that still plays Vigilance, because I'm old and fear change. Personally, I can't wait for smash to get hit with the nerf bat, I'm tired of seeing it. I actually get pwned more by snipers, but I find smashers annoying...*dodders off mumbling* I would provide you with an actual answer to your post, but it seems you've found some information for yourself via google. +1 for self reliance. What we really should be doing is nerfing Operatives.
  18. You don't know that. Obviously, if you're healing, especially as a sage, you need to have good teammates. As a scoundrel healer, I know how much of a pain in the *** it can be to try to keep everyone alive, only to have half the DPS disengage and thump you, and I'm a much more mobile healer, with decent defenses that allow me to utilize LOS and disengage from fights. Sages are more of a turret, but that doesn't mean they're totally defenseless, especially with someone guarding them.
  19. I don't follow what you're talking about. There's a total of two classes that are immune to CC for a period of time; sins/shadows and guards/juggs. I've never said that learning a class makes you immune to stuns or knockbacks. I simply said that understanding your class, in addition to the other classes in the game, gives you an idea of what to expect when you're in PvP. I just gave you the most direct counter to the CC immunity that Guardians have; move your a.s.s. Additionally, you have to understand that this game isn't designed so that every class will be able to 1v1 every other class. As a Guardian, I start immediately calling for help if a PT or Sniper is inbound on my node, because I *know* they're specifically designed to exploit my weaknesses. The harsh reality is that I eat Sorcs for breakfast, because my class is designed to exploit *your* weaknesses. That's just the way it is, and that's what helps keep it team-focused PvP.
  20. I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm talking from the perspective of a Vigilance Guardian, who has CC immunity for 4 seconds after a leap. You're talking about an entirely different class that's susceptible to stuns after leaps (unless they are dumb and respec into Unremitting). In short: wat?
  21. Hexdoll, CC immunity isn't OP. You just don't like it, because it messes with your play style. You need to learn to adapt. I can tell you that, as a Vigilance Guardian, the first thing I'm dropping on you after my leap is a Master Strike; a 3 second, channeled ability that you can run away from. If you move as soon as you see your stun isn't working, I'm potentially out 5k damage. If you're a bubble stunner (I realize you claim not to be, but there's no way for me to actually know) and you're using your bubble as a passive defense against melee, then you only have yourself to blame for using one of your abilities as a crutch. The fact that I have no hard stun that I can utilize while still moving and doing damage fully justifies 4 seconds of immunity to control while I try to get off my single target, channeled ability that may or may not do as much damage as a sweep. Oh, and it's weapon damage. Learn to mitigate your class's weaknesses, rather than calling for frivolous nerfs, because you can't be arsed to evolve your play style.
  22. Not to mention he's gotta watch out for, what, 8 people on his whole server that are still running Vig/Veng?
  23. Are people still complaining about this? They said that they would fix it to attempt to appease everyone affected. I think that those who got the gear based on what it looked like on the cartel pack deserve to look the way they want, and I think that those who purchased the gear based on what it looked like in the preview screen deserve to look the way they want as well. It was an honest, unintentional mistake, a little lack of foresight, and a breakdown in communication. It's not worth this level of vitriol, e-peen swinging, and trolling. This is not some slippery slope scenario wherein Bioware is suddenly going to be beset by (more) angry mobs demanding things precisely their way. It was a one-time goof, and people on both sides of the fence really need to get over themselves. Those of you who are raging - still - about an issue that was clearly identified, addressed, apologized for, and promised a fix for need to shut up and get back to the game, or get some professional help, because all you're doing is flinging s#!t around for no real reason any more. Those of you rules-lawyers who are constantly, smugly, and obnoxiously bringing up the EULA, dev tracker, and forum threads in support of your "cause" are just as wrong, because this game - and Bioware - is a business, and a business' primary goal is to make a product that people want, in order to make a profit. This move obviously upset some people and, as paying customers, they're well within their rights to complain about it, regardless of what some pencil-pusher, boilerplate, customer agreement consent was given. Regardless of month-old communication, or a single thread buried within the voluminous amounts of QQ that happen on a daily basis on these forums. Everyone needs to cool off and get back to the game, or at least get out and get some fresh air, because whatever people are breathing, wherever they're typing, is obviously making them irrational and douchey.
