  1. just go with the eliminator set for PVP, everyone does that
  2. If you really looked I said the last talents are optional in which you can have different variation depending on your preferences in terms of talents yes it's identical but in terms of handling/feel also its very different in terms of feel and playstyle compared to your standard pyro build the difference is within the playstyle itself wherein a standard pyro build your rotation would look like this IM-TD-RS-RapidSshot-FB-rapidShot-RP-rapidshots-FB-rapidshots etc where you just basically put rapidshots in every other attack if railshot didnt proc so in the end you spend like 4 rapidshots per 5 FB/RP combination so that you can manage heat. sometimes if you use TD and IM consecutively you would be spamming more rapidshots just to get your heat down which as I said is cost ineffective. while in this spec it changes considerably since you only need to use rapidshots when you are above 30 heat and havnt proc RS, so the rotation would look like this: IM-RS-FB-*-RP-*-FB-*-FB-*-FB-*-RP-* etc *- means that if railshot procs use it. so basically your railshot would or should proc within every 2 to 3 FB and RP use in which if you only use those 2 skills (FB and RP) you wont have a problem with your heat and stay way below the 40 heat zone without relying on rapidshots.
  3. posted on wrong forum closing now this is meant for powertechs
  4. Greetings Everyone Im Exellen Linegod from The Swiftsure server. I have experienced on both 5/5 NM mode on both EV and KP. I want to show you my build Ive been using for a while now. also I apologize for my poor english since im not a native english speaker so pls bear with me This Spec Is Designed around Proc fishing and basically buffing your main attacks as I would explain later the In's and out of this build now on to the talent specs http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301hMhZMcZfhrbzGhMc.1 or variation http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301hMhZMsMZfhrbzGhM.1 Pro's: Heavy Sustained Damage (which means that more Flamebursts/rocketpunch than rapidshots) Better Heat management Simple Priorities/rotation Con's: Relies heavily on RNG Low burst damage If you mess up on heat management its hard to come back Explanation on how to use this spec: Priorities: Incidiary missile-railshot-flameburst-*-rocketpunch-*-flameburst-*-flameburst * means that if railshot procs use it now the difference between this and a normal pyro build is that you only need to use rocket punch and flameburst as your main filler attacks and occasionaly rapid shots. no need to use other attacks unless told so So basically after your firsts IM expires this becomes a battle for heat management the things to remember is that *keep below 40 heat *only use IM if you have lower than 10 heat *always use Rocket punch or flameburst as we need this 2 skills to proc railshot but dont go overboard 40 heat *If you go over 40 heat only use rapidshots to bring down heat to less than 30 heat * and always use Railshot when it procs or not in CD's as a proc railshot will vent 8 heat + 15 heat over 3 sec since you wont be using heat when played right you should be staying way below 40 heat without using rapidshots at all. now on to talents: I would seperate those with Essential talents and Optional/filler talents Essential talents Pyro tree Firsts tier: Bursting flame 3/3 - DPS increase Iron fists 2/2- DPS increase second Tier: superheated Gas- 2/2 third tier: Incidiary missile- 1/1 - filler dot skill Superheated rail-2/2- 30% armor pen + venting 8 heat on burning targets- our main heat management talent fourth tier: Prototype Particle accelerator- 3/3 -This is the bread and butter of this build, this talent allow us to proc fish railshot with FB and RP Rapid venting- 2/2- although a very weak talent this is a dps increase for us by lowering vent heat CD thus allowing to use it more fifth tier: rain of fire- 3/3 - dps increase Firebug- 2/2- dps increase Advance Prototype tree Firsts tier: Puncture-3/3- allows our railshot to do more damage through armor pen Prototype burn enhancers- 2/2- dps increase Shieldtech tree: firsts tier: Rail Loaders-2/2- DPS inc Intimidation- 3/3- DPS inc second tier: Steely resolve- 3/3- The main reason this is an advance spec since you need to be geared for the 9% aim to shine Optional talents: you can choose base on your preferences Burnout- pyro sixth tier Prototype gas cylinder- AP second tier Hot iron- AP second tier the difference is that you can choose between increasing Flamebursts damage or having 30% more dot damage when the target is below 30% HP Filler talents- Choose base on your preference since this does not affect your build in a way. Sweltering heat- primary snare. recommended in PVP you can have this talent to make this build viable in PVP if you are like me who doesnt like to respec Gyroscopic jet allignments- pretty useful on some encounters where you get knockdown constantly Infrared sensors- PVPtalent since you wont use stealth scan ever in PVE ops degauss- removes movement impairing effects when energy shield is used useful but situational since you would be using your energy shield when you need to survive and not when you need to remove an Movement impairing effect also remember ES has 2 min CD Frequently asked questions: OR Atleast what questions I think I would ask myself Q1. You invested so much in the pyro tree why not go all the way to Thermal detonator? Thats a good question.. Next question please. , all jokes aside, The reason I didnt include TD on my build is because of heat management, I Really like the damage of TD as a whole but everytime I use this ability along side with IM I would go overheat (40+ heat) and its not just cost effective because to compensate for it I have to spam rapidshots to get to acceptable heat levels whereis IF I just skip the ability along with IM I have more chances proccing RS and overall getting better heat management and probably getting more DPS since I dont have to spam rapidshots anymore. also this build/spec is focused more on heavy sustained damage which means that i need to conserve heat while still doing a ton of dps. Q2. What gears Set do you use? Mainly combat tech set for PVE and eliminator set for PVP Q3. Which skill do you prefer more flamebursts or Rocketpunch? I'll say flamebursts handsdown since it also procs CGC although it has lower dps and proc chance than RP it compensates with longer range and CGC ticks which means damage wise FB and RP is almost the same Q4. What about range rotation? Yes this is important as well since not all fights you can stay within 4m distance within the boss. well the thing I do is *DFA (if you dont need AOE later) *IM *explosive dart *unload *railshot *rapidshots *flamebursts (if you can go within the 10meter range) and use whatever is off CD Q5. What is the purpose of this build? The main purpose of this build is to Provide heavy sustained damage In an operation PVE setting By removing unnecessary skills and buffing your main skills this buffs your primary damage by a lot. Q6. How much damage does your railshot hit for? the highest damage ive seen my railshot do was 15k on G4B3 heavy fabricator (KP 4th boss) but that was with his debuff anyways my raishots hits as follow normal - 2k-3k crit- 4.5k-5.5k normal with adrenals/relic- 3k+ crit with relic+adrenal- 6k+ *note* I dont know If this build is posted before or anything but im just sharing my build that Im using for a while now. feel free to ask/ comment/suggest but do not flame in this thread, i will also edit this once i found more suitable way to dps with this spec thanks

  6. I beg to differ.. pyrotech can dish out a steady amount of damage in pvp, and can easily get past the 200k mark in damage done, actually almost all the warzones ive been to Ive easily surpassed the 200k damage mark and the thing is im only in my 20s back then, but im 32 atm and its getting ridiculously easier to dish out damage, and I rarely even lose a 1 on 1 fight even to a lvl 50 any class. here is some screenies of the results as a Pyro build http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/403/screenshot2011122600062.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/140/screenshot2011122223562.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/542/screenshot2011122300510.jpg/ I have tons of other screenies but this one would do. enjoy.
  7. Ive been playing a Pyro PT for PVP's lately all I can tell is that Pyro has so much mobility, and the damage is great. since as a pyro i rarely stand around casting spells Im always on the move which makes me a lesser target for others, also as a pyro we dont rely too much on the dots but we just need to plant an incidiary missile to an enemy and we can railblast them to death and if heat is an issue we can just stand back and spam rapid shots when played well no gcd would be wasted. Usually Ive been topping the damage charts in pvp in the range of 150k-300k damage depending on the length of the warzone.
