  1. Well crap. That's kind of absurd. So now if I want to line things up at all I have to make a grid overlay for Rainmeter or something. Fun times.
  2. Hi guys, is there a way to "nudge" frames with the new interface customization setup? By which I mean can I bump things pixel by pixel in cardinal directions in order to line things up properly? The reason I ask is because I'm having an impossible time keeping my windows aligned with each other by hand, it would be much easier if I could just nudge things around with the keyboard.
  3. The Battlemaster stuff isn't terrible (at least, the blue/brown/white one) but the rest are pretty awful. Which is why I'll be using Vendetta even in PVP.
  4. Anything a Sniper can do, another class can do better. That's the bottom line, the main issue with the AC.
  5. Disappointing... and one of the reasons I hate PVP/PVE gear splits. I'd settle for there being PVP mods I could slot PVE gear with.
  6. So I'm getting close to 50 and having to start accumulating Expertise gear. Frankly I'm dreading the grind. So my question is pretty simple: Given that the raw stats on PVE gear are so much higher than that of PVP gear, can I get away with sticking with (good) PVE gear? Specifically, I want to stick to the orange set I'm painstakingly accumulating and pimping with purple mods. I'll probably grab the PVP implants and earpieces and so on because that won't impede my "look," which is valuable to me (gameplay be damned). So I'm looking for some firsthand experience. Anyone out there surviving alright with a smattering of PVP and PVE gear or do you just straight up absolutely need a full set of PVP gear to be anywhere near competitive?
  7. Light side and loving it. Light side agents have a lovely dark hero thing going on, and it fits my character perfectly.
  8. There are lots and lots of inconsistencies between the mirrors, sadly. This isn't the only one. Sages and Sorcerers have an inconsistency in one of their main damage abilities that favors Sorcs. There are currently some Trooper animation bugs that make them inferior to Bounty Hunters. Etc.
  9. Calling women "sir" doesn't bother me in the slightest. The distinction just isn't meaningful enough to me, and I've read tons of scifi in which this was the norm. My main beef is just the constant cheerleading. The dialog from my character is just so vapid, it seems like a huge waste of Hale's talents.
  10. Uh, not sure what kind of wonder gun you're using but I miss Ambushes and Snipes occasionally. It happens.
  11. Midasear, you just accidentally proved at least the point that the writing needs to be looked at, by a veteran or otherwise; what you posted was infinitely more interesting to read than the Trooper storyline was to actually play.
  12. How to keybind so you never have to move your left hand, ever: 1-5 is home base. Use all three modifier keys: Alt 1-5, ctrl 1-5, shift 1-5. Q and E as strafing keys are superfluous because you can hold down right mouse button and use A and D in order to strafe. So using Q and E as ability keys gives you another 6 slots, and again you don't have to move your left. Next up are ctrl-space and shift-space, I don't use alt-space because they're too close together and lead to missfires. I also use the ~ key (tilde, left of 1) for the basic no ammo/energy/whatever attack. Add on other keys as needed but between everything I've just listed that's 27 slots, which is just about enough. I also use R, and F, as well as V (actuated with the thumb) for escapes. I absolutely hate having to move my left hand around the keyboard in combat, so I do everything I can to never do that. I stopped using number keys past 5 in probably 2007 and never looked back.
  13. The writing in general on the Trooper storyline is really awful. I'm playing Trooper after having played Agent, which is fabulous, and the differences are incredible. The agent writing gets the military feel a lot more than Trooper (vis a vis your interactions with the military as an agent) which is a damn shame. I'm not a vet, but I'm a huge military science fiction buff, so I know that you can do this sort of thing "right", or at the very least do it much more credit than how it was handled. It's so bad, that instead of feeling like a soldier, you feel more like a cheerleader with a gun. If I had a nickel for every time I've said some stupid one liner about how Havok Squad (barf name to begin with) gets things done... "You can't just barge in here!" "Special forces. I do what I want." Sweet Jesus. And don't even get me started on the bizarre mismatched rankings for the different services. There are Ensigns in the Army, and Sergeants in the Navy.
  14. Not much to be done other than wish Bioware hadn't added so many servers when people were ************ and moaning about queues. There will probably be server mergers at some point.
  15. Oh my gosh are you guys kidding me. Energy Tanks is the goddamn bees knees. It has beautiful synergy with Cluster Bombs further up the trees; it effectively lets you burst the crap out of something, then immediately regenerate a large portion of that energy only to burst again. It's like a constant, free over-charge. That extra 4 energy before you dip into the lower regeneration zone doesn't sound like much but it's a lifesaver for when you misjudge your regen and accidentally burn more than you meant to. Energy Tanks is one of the best first tier talents you can get.
  16. I just wanted to point out that as per the big Mitigation thread in the PVP forums, Assault Plastique (kinetic damage) isn't mitigated by armor. It does full damage.
  17. Can't tell if trolling. Basically all of your ranged shots deal weapon damage and are mitigated. Rifle Shot, Shatter Shot, Ambush, Snipe, Series of Shots, Overload Shot, Followthrough - they all do weapon damage and are mitigated. Furthermore, Snipe can have its damage and critical boosted through talents which you virtually have to take anyway. Snipe is not singled out in any way - it's a bog-standard standby energy using attack that performs just fine as an ability to interleave between cooldowns.
  18. You don't know that they ported the Imp classes to Rep side. You could say that it appears that way, and I would agree with you. Most of the abilities we get just look... stupid isn't the right word. They just don't work, visually, where the BH's does.
  19. This thread makes me really disappointed to be a Vanguard.
  20. The food analogy isn't really apt. This is still off, but it's closer to this: Your friends (Beta testers and Bioware PR machine), who have been eating at a restaurant they enjoy for a while, tell you about this great dish they have. One of the bonuses, though admittedly not the primary feature, of the dish is its presentation. When you finally get a chance to eat there, you note that the presentation isn't really all that great. Then you find out from your freinds (Beta testers) that just before you got there, they downgraded the presentation without telling anyone but are still charging the same price. Then you find out that they changed it becuase some of their clients couldn't handle the nice presentation, so instead they're downgrading it for everyone instead of letting some people choose which presentation they preferred. Then they wouldn't acknowledge the problem, or make any effort to change it. Food analogies are awful.
  21. Reid's response is just plain depressing, in the vein of "instead of letting some people enjoy high resolution textures, we're going to let no one enjoy high resolution textures. That's fair!" It just makes no sense - why not use LOD to limit far-away character textures, or even more simply, allow the option of using high res textures on your character + companions and medium on everyone else. Depressing.
  22. And in case there's any question, you still get the energy if someone else sets off your cluster bomb.
