  1. I'm not sure why this continues to become an issue with a game with a modifiable XUI overlay. Theres the guild status window on planets, and the stupid conquest notifications that you can't turn off and now this. The only way it makes sense that they keep adding all these unremovable elements is that they don't have anyone that understands how the XUI layer works.
  2. I already had 190 item modifications from crafted item mods....I've had that 190 gear since completing Shadows of Revan. The story is giving me 190 fixed stat greens, you can't even pull mods out of the gear and RE them. Thats not really a reward at all.
  3. How is it extortion to ask that crew skills that I've invested millions of credits into to be valid methods of engagement in the game? The only thing my crew skills are good for are for twinking new characters up to RoTHC. I'm not envious of raiders, I've even said that I have no problem with them getting the top end of the gear curve content wise. I am just extremely disappointed that there is no reward for the parts of the game I enjoy in this expansion. PVP is the only facet of the game that I enjoy that got any progression with the expansion. I'm not sure why you think thats okay...other than the fact that the parts of the game you enjoy didn't get passed over or rendered useless so you're fine with it.
  4. People said the same thing about Warlords of Draenor.
  5. Uh you must not have read the thread at all. I like PVP...I don't mind PVP gearing....but you cannot RE PVP gear mods. I like crafting and crew skills and crafting filled the gap between basic comms mods and raid gear/RE gear mods. I love the story centric focus of TOR as a method of leveling and engaging the player. What I don't like is raiding and repetitive grindy content. How is that everything the game has to offer? The problem is that BioWare didn't provide any meaningful progression rewards to story mode or crafting with KoTFE...only to PVE raiding and daily grindage.
  6. I was pretty satisfied with post SoR TOR....I mean I didn't have the top end mods but I did actually progress in gear level to a level I found acceptably rewarding. Not only were the RoTHC/SoR story progression rewards fairly good, there were level appropriate item mods available that you could pick up for basic comms as well so you never really were completely denied a part in the progression curve...you just weren't at the very top of it...and I was fine with that. Problem is in KoTFE there is no progression curve for non-raiders beyond the previous SoR expansion, the end of chapter rewards for the story are pathetic fixed stat green armors, there are no mod vendors anywhere, they didn't add any 200+ schematics to crafting progression. And thus I cannot progress without dailies/FP grinding/Raiding. So far as finding a game where you could progress without those things...this game used to be that game.
  7. If you're stacking up data crystals without raiding you must be doing HM SF's which again is just repetitive and grindy content simply to get some feeling of progression. To adapt and do things another way I have to play the game in a manner I don't enjoy. I do not like dailies, I do not like repetitive flash point grinding. And as stated I severely dislike raiding in all its forms. What other method can I adapt to to achieve even the median average of KoTFE progression?
  8. They're forcing raiding on crafters/story mode players as well. So to be fair they're forcing everyone to do stuff they don't want to do. All in all, this expansion has a lot of bad ideas mixed up inside what appeared to be a pretty nice update to the game.
  9. Yes I'm entitled because I feel like having paid for an account for 9+ months to get this expansion that I should be allowed to feel some sense of progression from having done so that doesn't require being forced to public queue for raids with people like you, who snap off at the slightest idea that someone might feel like they deserve a place in the same game you play without having to play it with you. I don't like raiding because I don't like the people that raid. I don't like the narcissistic elitism that comes from long term raiders that judge the worth of others by their gear score and/or whether they're standing in the right spot during a boss cycle or devaluing others based on what spec their characters are. And as the person above says, PVP might be stun and storm, but at least I do that on my own terms and I can't be excluded from it because I refuse to respec to Defense and spend two million credits on barely acceptable mods just so I can be allowed entry to a boring *** raid I'll have to do over and over again while tolerating horribly elitist people who are only allowing me into their raid because I'll tank it and none of them want to tank, to ever get any of the items I need. And again....I'm not asking for 216/220 mods to be handed to me for free. I'm asking for a 208 BLUE SCHEMATIC so I can at least feel like my character has progressed five whole years beyond the events on Ziost. Right now I am literally still geared from the top end of SoR and will likely remain that way til EA shuts this game down, because if some kind of tacit effort isn't made to fix crew skills and make primary skills viable in the KoTFE expansion somewhere in the next 15 days, I certainly won't be resubscribing.
  10. Its called progression, and its a dynamic of MMO games that makes people feel like they are achieving something. Without any progression...I basically just wasted 9 months of a subscription and five days of my spare time to be exactly where I was at the end of SoR. I've made literally zero actual gains. And I can't gain anything without raiding. So why pay for this? Why play at all if I am not allowed some level of progression without raiding?
  11. Right and the point I'm making is if I wanted to do repetitive content to gear, I wouldn't be complaining about being forced to raid. I'm again, not asking for the top of the tree here, I just prefer to be able to gear my characters to the median average of the current expansion via crafting. Also I got 181 total data common data crystals while completing the current KoTFE storyline, and you cannot RE the gear you get from common crystals...so again, crafting gets shunted behind operations raiding as a requirement.
  12. Artifice doesn't have augs. Basically right now if you're not making augmentations or aug slots, you've kind of got a useless trade skill.
  13. HM +2 solo with companion is doable....its just boring and repetitive. Why would I pay to be bored by repetitive content? I just want to be able to craft 208 blues so I can play the game my way. I don't want to be forced to grind repetitive missions to get schematics. My crafting trainer should have had at least a 200 hilt and a 200 relic that would RE up to 208 or 212. That would have left the top end 216 - 220 from operations only and the raiders would still have "the best" stuff....I'd just be able to at least be competitive. Right now other than a couple implants, an earpiece and my PVP relics, everything I have on is 190 and I've had that gear since completing SoR. Am I really that wrong to feel like an expansion should benefit all players and not just the top end raid core of the game?
  14. Dear BioWare, For the last year I've remained a subscriber to this game due to the promise of KoTFE. I am an un-guilded player who does not do flash points or operations. I find that kind of content boring. Generally in the "end game" of any specific expansion I work on alts or PVP. Regardless of that I generally gear my characters via trade skills and leveling and PVP and up to KoTFE this has usually not been that huge a problem. But now that I've finished KoTFE on my primary main character its obvious to me that you've decided to force tunnel your players into raiding to get 200+ gear level mods for their adaptive gear and I am very disappointed in that. Not only was my Artificing skill gutted of all the pre-KoTFE RE'd enhancements that I'd spent tons of credits on to achieve, but enhancements were removed in total and replaced with Relics and that might actually even be acceptable if any of the relics were above 186...which they are NOT. My highest saber hilt I can make from the trainer alone is a 178, which will RE to a 190 purple...which is still lower than the fixed stat blue sabers I can make and RE and turn into fixed stat purples that are just as bad and are hilariously expensive to even make. The only option I have from this point forward is to subject myself to raiding and hoping that the gods of the RNG system not only allow me to win the need roll on a piece of gear I need to break down for parts, but also that my RE roll actually turns up a functional schematic that I can then start producing. Or I can just say screw that and just get the basic gear set...by doing HM SF's over and over and over and strip out the mods as I need them, which is still a time investment in non-story mode raiding that I am simply not interested in. I don't play TOR for guild dynamics. I play it for the story. I've played it that way since not long after release when the guild I was in just faded away and died with the failure of Ilum and then its failed "revival" as a daily PVE area. And while I don't feel I have a right to 220 rated gear just because I log into the game, I feel that as someone thats invested millions of credits and thousands of hours into my trade skills and thousands of dollars into this game over the years to ensure that I at least felt personally rewarded for my efforts throughout the game and that having 208 blue crafted item mods would at least be a tacit acknowledgement that people that don't raid are welcome to play TOR as well. Of course when I pointed out this obvious gap in the item economy I was immediately attacked by people in server chat, defending "raiders" as the chosen people of the great god BioWare and that if I wasn't willing to "put in the effort" then I didn't deserve to have top tier gear. I'm not asking for top tier gear, I'm asking to at least be able to blue mod my adaptive gear via my crew skills, just so I don't feel like all the effort I have put in has been a complete waste. I was called a whiner, a crying baby and told that I was entitled. I was told to quit, uninstall, and cancel my account...and since that appears to be the only option at this time as I refuse to raid with people with such nasty attitudes, that is exactly what I am going to do. Raiders can have this game as far as I'm concerned. If this is the direction BioWare wants to go, thats not a decision I can change, but I can definitely state that I will never be interested in raiding in this game or probably any other game after it, its an old MMO dynamic that is no where near even interesting to me any more. Even toxic PVP culture is more acceptable than toxic PVE raider culture where people think they deserve the best because they figured out how to beat some visual math and think they're actually good at something, at least toxic PVP players actually have to be good enough to beat other human beings, and not just a string of repetitive code cycling until a boss reaches 0 health.
  15. I might get stomped yeah, but four competent sorcerors with the right complimentary specs? It could be done pretty easily. You don't even need another class you just need variant sorc specs. Can't pull that off with 4 juggs/guardians thats for sure. Not against a competitive team.
  16. Being frustrated with BioWare is not something that is hard to understand. But I'm not sure why that makes it okay for people to frustrated and upset with other people that are part of the community. Simple facts are even if you're my enemy in a warzone, I'm damn happy to have you because if you weren't queuing, the game would be a very boring place for me. There are people that are worse than me at PVP and plenty that are better...in an optimal world, we'd all be learning from each other and becoming better over time. And as far as whispering someone thats verbally abusing their team and asking them for advice? Uh...yeah I can't see any reason, whatsoever, that it would make sense to do that. If someones verbally abusing a team post match for their "skills" or lack there of, its not going to make people want to go to them for help.
  17. I really like TOR PVP...and I will be the first to admit that I'm not the best at it on any class though I spend a lot of time trying to be the best I can. But as I've pushed a lot of characters to 60 pre 12XP and after, since returning, and I've noticed a constant and re-occuring theme. And its not a good theme. Simple facts are is there is a culture of disrespect in the PVP community of TOR that I do not believe is sustainable in the current active player environment. Play a certain class? Well you're only good because the class makes up for your lack of skill. Don't play ranked because you can't get a match very often? Well your opinion isn't worth **** because you're not ranked. Still trying to learn a class because you took the 12x XP opportunity to get to enjoy learning a class you might otherwise have not had time for? "Why do you even queue? Go back to PVE you noob". Simple facts are, is I constantly see people complaining that PVP queues are popping too slow..even on Harbinger, which is one of the busiest servers...but yet this culture of disrespect is the status quo amongst the PVP community. Chances are good if you think PVP sucks in TOR its because you're a jerk and maybe you should reign it in a bit. Because the people that might not know how to play a class today are at least trying..and perhaps if you were more supportive of their interest in trying to be competitive, they would become more competitive. Simple facts are, the TOR PVP community, most especially on Harbinger, but this probably applies on most servers, is an extremely insular and toxic group of people that need to understand that they're killing the only thing they enjoy about this game because when you eat your own young, there can be no future for what you do. Stop hazing people out of PVP...start teaching people how to be better if you truly think you have a reason to believe someone sucks so bad that they shouldn't queue...and maybe in the future, TOR PVP will be more interesting to you and provide you with more of a challenge. Be the change you want to see.....thats Gandhi, btw, just to ensure people know I'm not pretending I said that myself. If you want a better PVP community...be a better PVP community.
  18. Definitely Shadowplay for a few different reasons. 60 FPS video capture is a standard with Shadowplay...though your mileage may vary trying to get 60 FPS consistently out of TOR. Secondly you don't have to record constantly while using Shadowplay, if you did something cool that you want to save, you can just hit the Shadow record key and it will automatically encode the last 30 minutes of your gameplay regardless of whether you had the record function going at the time or not. Functionally its one of the most convenient programs there is for video encoding that allows you to utilize more GPU than CPU for the recording process which decreases performance issues while recording very nicely.
  19. I'm not dictating how you dress your characters. I'm asking for a client side toggle that allows me to turn it off on my side so I just see a generic armor on you. You can do whatever you want, live however you want, be whoever you want and I'm totally cool with it...I'm just asking for the ability to enjoy my MMO time in a way that I enjoy it, without my tastes or concerns directly impacting you, and without your tastes and interests impacting my enjoyment of the game. I'm not sure why thats such a problem for people to process. I don't care what you like, and I respect the fact that you like it....can you at least respect the fact that I don't and I'm asking for a solution to that that has absolutely zero impact on you?
  20. Being called a prude is tiresome. I certainly don't have any problem with attractive things being dressed attractively. There is nothing attractive about your Star Wars dollies because it is a factual impossibility with the art style and engine constraints. I am definitely not a prude I just don't find scantily dressed children's toys to be anything other than an indication of mental illness.
  21. Pretty sure what they're referencing that is "better than xserver" is the switch to megaserver architecture that is extremely likely for the next expansion. Simple facts are is they wouldn't do something that only specifically benefits the PVP community, theres no direct financial advantage in doing so. So their answer to "better than xserver" is just....everyones on one big server.
  22. I was noticing this as well as I was story leveling some classes I hadn't played..but largely I didn't really worry about it. Mostly I just wore unenhanced adaptive armor up to about level 17 or so, because there literally isn't any PVE content in that area that is all that challenging as long as you do keep your main hand somewhere within 5 levels of you. So I just sent a pair of Serenity's Unsealed sabers to my alt, made sure that the hilts and mods and enhances in those were okay, and then by around level 22 I had more than enough comms to fill out the entire set and that usually carries me up to around level 37 or so then I need to re-gear again because I start becoming noticably under geared even if I keep my main hand on par with my level. Overall I don't think the spread on comms is that bad, on the last character I leveled up to 60...I ended up with about 314 comms left over (I don't do adaptive gear on companions) which isn't specifically enough to buy a whole set of legacy gear but is lots more than I actually need for the character by the time I've hit max level.
  23. If this was a thing I'd only accept it if you had to be Dark V to be able to sit on it. Because any other alignment status simply wouldn't make sense.
  24. Of the current titles that have a somewhat active PVP scene I think TOR is still doing it as good as anyone else if not somewhat better. To be honest I resubscribed mostly because I missed the PVP, and ended up leveling up a new character just so I could be sure of what I was doing because my two pre-1.2 level 50's just felt weird and out of sync for me while I was trying to PVP on them in full Champion gear (turns out full level 50 champ gear equals < 2018 expertise with bolster so I might as well just throw that entire set of gear away) and overall I've enjoyed it. TOR PVP has its issues, like any PVP game, but I can't say that I get the same challenge out of other PVP games I've played. TOR PVP is pretty fast paced, generally fairly responsive and requires a fairly quick capability to assess what you're fighting and use your class strengths to your best benefit. Stuns and what not are still a thing but...overall, its still more fun than any other game I've PVP'd in since 2012. Biggest problem from what I can tell is the solo ranked scene is a bit of a dirty toilet to deal with. Unranked is still fun, 60 bracket PVP is brutal but arguably it is better than 50 bracket PVP was due to the fact that bolster now adds expertise. I can't really speak for team ranked as I'm not currently running with a group that PVPs so I don't have any direct experience with it. Is the PVP alone worth coming back for? Maybe...right now its kind of up in the air on whether BioWare feels PVP is worth adding any content to....but far as the game play itself...I think its worth at least a month's sub to check it out again and see if you have fun. There are certainly far more expensive things to waste your money on.
  25. Apparently this guy forgot what key his LEL bubble was assigned to.
