  1. ScoundOps got somewhat buffed (though as I understand it, their main gripes weren't really addressed thoroughly), SorcSage and CommMerc got their regen nerfed very badly, so we run out of resources much faster than usual. I play a Commando healer, and my entire rotations have to change... they even added an arbitrary 2 ammo cost to a once-free ability. I still think healing is viable, CommMercs and SorcSages will just have to work a lot harder than before; SorcSages against the inevitable OOF and CommMercs against the urge to burstheal like they used to be able to do so well.
  2. All is forgiven, BioWare. The nerfs don't bother me at all anymore. All I wanted was an in-combat rez... and you provided. I bet they wish all their customers were this easy to please.
  3. One of each of the 4 classes, all played by competent players. Individual advanced class is not important... though when I heal as my Commando, I really love having a sage or scoundrel as DPS for the combat rez that I lack.
  4. This. My main is a Combat Medic... we will get hit very hard in 1.2. At first I didnt understand and felt like ragequitting, but now I want to wait and see. I'm not going to say BW broke my class before I try to play it after 1.2.
  5. For all your Sages talking about going CM... you do realize they got hit just as hard, right? Both Sages an d CMs had their regen severely hurt to "bring them in line" with Scoundrel healers, who got minor buffs.
  6. I'd add that I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore, but everyone else already has.So I'll just put forth my theory on why BW is undertaking this debaucle. I think their logic is that Troopers have ammo regen that is "too good". That, if properly managed, we never run out of our resource. What I think they don't understand is that we have to work incredibly hard to be able to maintain that level of regen. Sure, a good Trooper healer will never run out of ammo... but neither will a sage, and you have to play them much less hard IMO to never run out of their resource. If this is about making content harder by weakening heals, here's an idea... just make content harder, with more complicated ops bosses. Nerfing healing classes will only outrage your player base and make them leave in droves.
  7. Well, I didn't have any proof.... I only had my preference, honestly. I understand math is proof, and I didn't think my "feelings" would be better than you statistical analyses. You still a great service to healers by elaborately explaining exactly why alacrity is good.
  8. RuQu, I love ya. You're the poster boy for COmmando healers and even healers in general on these boards... But you had to do all this math to realize something I obsevered through experience along time ago. At least now there's math to back me up for the doubters.
  9. Bacta Infusion is the main thing that gives CMs something they can shake in the face of other healers: A completely free instant-cast heal that heals for only slightly less than our meaty 2-sec heal. It helps cement us as the kings of burst healing, just about the only leg up we have over a sage healer. So yes, IMO, it is definetly well worth it. The only time you should consider not getting it is if you;re some kind of PvP hybrid going for Grav Round too.
  10. I am of the opinion that all ranged companions are always superior to all melee tanks, regardless of class. My reasons are: 1. Many melee tank companions have unmoddable exclusive reward type weapons. All ranged companions use moddable generic weapons. and 2. Ranged tanks have an extra taunt in the form of a ranged pull. This works well for managing ranged enemy threat, as well as ranged attacks to build aggro in between their pulling. Even though melee tanks have a charge to go to a far enemy, the ranged mob he was on before he charged is just gonna sit there losing threat because its out of his AoE threat skill.
  11. Actually... he prefers both. Forex is kind of a kiss-up who loves most things you do. I went almost entirely light side, and the story seemed alright. My main issue with the Trooper is your overall epicness level feels too high, and I doubt it's lowered based on LS or DS.
  12. If I'm not healing you, it doesn't mean I'm not paying attention. It means: a. The tank is taking lot of damage. b. I'm taking a lot of damage. c. Everyone is taking a lot of damage and you need to wait your turn. d. I'm already casting my big fat heal to hit you while you say this.
  13. It's perfectly fine and many folks do it, though honestly your DPS will probably be better witha Tank compaion for harder mobs and a DPS comp for easier. Tank lets you focus on using your channels to their full effect better IME.
  14. The Daily Heroic 4 on Belsavis open COmmunications gives the "best" weapon for each of ytour companions. Alternatively, just mod up an orange pistol.
  15. The fact that this Sith is QQing about one of the weaker PvP classes in the game speaks about his skill level. Just Sayin'. Most Sith classes can just interrupt a Commandos skills pretty easily 1v1.... and if you really did fight 3 at once, what the heck do you expect? 3v1 usually doesn't turn out well.
  16. This is my take on this: http://db.darthhater.com/skill_calc/trooper/commando/#::ef2ef3e2fef3e2fef16ef8ef2efdf2efe6 Gonna run that when dual specs come out for my DPS spec. Gonna be PvE DPS, so trying to avoid PvP skills.
  17. That's an excellent idea, it could be our version of a sages friendly target pull, I.E saving an individuals DPS from death.
  18. Now that one of the two issues I have with Combat medic is fixed, I believe the other should be addressed: our lack of a combat rez when both of the other healing specs have them. I suppose we don't NEED one, but it would be good for balance. Combat medics may have good burst heals, but that's about it that we have over a Sage. They have much better utility with Combat rez, friendly pull, and shields they can spam more frequently.
  19. As a gamelong COmmando healer, this just about made me cry tears of joy. BW really does care. And as long as they're in a giving mood... Scoundrel and Sage both have a wipe-saving in combat rez. Me wanty!
  20. That's because in Hards, DPS matters. A lot. If you're not a full DPS, the bosses could hit their enrage timers and easily wipe your group. And you can't heal that great either without your big 'ol AoE healfest, which is the main Sage signature move. If you want to do PvE, just decide what you want to be and respec when you decide to run HMs with folks. Credits are like water endgame if you do dalies regularly.
  21. *cough* ignore this. Was stupid and didn't read that she edited the post to include Republicans
  22. I'm buggy and broken? Doesn't seem to matter at all to me because I'm a healer, and all I've noticed is sages having more utility skills than me (vs my stronger burst heals) I addition, I would never, ever live in the Empire and I think the Sith are absolutely wrong and would never roll one in a million years. I only play classes that are tasteful to me from a lore perspective... It's just how I roll. That being said, BH is actually the only Empire sided toon I would consider playing, but Trooper is my favorite class so far. I like feeling like I'm a hero standing up to the Sith bullies with nothing but my blaster, some explosives and my wits.
  23. This is false in all my experience. I have leveled with M1-4x through my entire career from around Alderaan to into level 50. I soloed almost every heroic 2+ under the sun and even some heroic 4s with him. As soon as you get him a slot-able item for most slots, he becomes easy to use via slotting his gear frequently. The main problem is gearing him early on; unless you're cybertech, you're going to have to get slotable gear via commendations and ocassionally specialty goods vendors. If you do have Cybertech, keeping him geared is extremely easy and he will often be in gear even better than yours. Tanno is an effective tank if you gear him, but not as good as Forex for one simple reason: Harpoon. Properly managed, harpoon makes him much more effective. Take those annoying ranged mobs that pick on you from a distance... you just pull up Forex's skill bar, have him harpoon it, and then he'll never lose threat on it. Elara can keep you alive and I have soloed heroic 2s with her, but the thing with her is you can't use your channeled skills as effectively without a tank companion to handle most of the aggro, and much of our DPS depends on channels/activation time to be effective. Of course, any tank companion is only truly useful when you have to fight a large number of Strongs/elites, burning through normal trash it's Aric all the way. Yuun IME has slightly less DPS due to Techstaves being hard to find and non-moddable. of course, I found him a fascinating character, so I used him over Jorgan till he hit the affection cap.
  24. I always use M1-4X for any difficult content and Jorgan for when I just need to burst down normals. You need to micro-manage tank companions somewhat, but they can make things very easy if you keep them reasonably geared. Using Dorne is an option, but I find having a tank companion lets me unleash my full Channeled fury, as with Dorne or Jorgan I'm "tanking" and thus my many channeled DPS skills are lessened in effectiveness. I find Forex to be a superior tank to Tanno due to a mod-able weapon and an extra threat tool in the form of Harpoon (annoying when he does it randomly, but very good for aggro management if you command him to use it).
  25. Uh... by far the best AoE threat, a Charge, AND a pull? There's a reason VGs are considered the strongest tanking class atm. All tanks suck at low levels... Level 21 content barely even requires a tank. It gets better as time goes on and you get your tools of the trade.
