  1. Now I'm confused. You're looking for armor with a hood but with the hood OVER YOUR HEAD or NOT over your head? If you're just looking for armor with a hood on it that is up over your head, as in your head is INSIDE the hood, the marauder recruit/battlemaster pvp armor has that...
  2. It looks like an early imagining of the PVE progression gear for Marauder (Tionese, Columni, Rakata etc, the only difference between them is the color) based on the helm and boots. The chest looks almost exactly the same as that if you look at the PVE commendations vendor on the fleet, except they added the weird little antennae on the shoulders.
  3. Is not useable in PVP. KTHXBYE. Sorry, just got tired of all the qq threads obviously made by pure PVErs talking about how it's only useful in PVP 'where someone stuns your target' because marauders have no stun. Which also, by the way, is false. Force Choke may not be the best stun in the game due to the range and channeling but it is still a stun and it holds people in huttball fire just as well as any other one. /end rant. Thank you for your attention.
  4. Here's why, bear with me, I'm not trying to be snarky: There are 8 classes in this game not 4. And with maybe one exception, they all play completely differently from each other. A juggernaut is not a marauder, an assassin is not a sorcerer, a sniper is not an operative. The fact that they share some abilities and are the same 1-10 is irrelevant, it's just a cool storyline mechanic bioware implemented for people who have a particular roleplaying/archetype direction in mind for their character (whether they will be a strong force warrior type, a crafty sneaky force user, a soldier, a spy, a gun-for-hire, etc) but aren't sure what specific archetype (heal/tank/dps) they want to play yet. Your choice at level 1 dictates which class storyline you will follow but not specifically what archetype you will play. You pick your true class at level 10. Long story short, your question is similar (not exactly like, but similar) to asking in WoW 'Why can't rogues wear plate like warriors? They both use melee weapons and no magic!" They are two distinct classes that cannot pay a fee to become the other class. Once again, not trying to be mean in any way, just offering you a reason.
  5. I usually use force scream as a ranged nuke finisher in pvp, since it has the largest on-the-move instant damage potential (2.5k-3k) compared to 500-1k with most other abilities) but I'm only 33. I may swap it with my execute finisher when I finally get it, if it does more damage. In pvp where surprise burst is the best way to take down those pesky healers, it's a godsend. Since I'm Carnage spec, it only costs 3 rage, so it seems well worth it to me. Also, the Gore->ravage->scream combo does indeed work flawlessly, I use it all the time
  6. One global cooldown to cleanse 2 dots, which according to the posts I've been reading in this thread is worth about 6-7k damage over the full duration, and if they're a sorcerer it heals for 3% life too. That's like an instant cast crit Dark Heal. You better believe they are cleansing that.
  7. Someone told me that the dots from Watchman can be cleansed/dispelled by healers. Is that true? If so, that would be a HUGE downside to me, since every warzone I'm in has 2-3 full healers on both teams.
  8. Indeed. Sorcerers can pull allies to themselves, Assassins pull enemies to themselves for happy fun dance parties.
  9. Just so you know, Hybrid will still be an extremely popular spec post-1.2 because even though you now spend your Wrath procs on Lightning Strike, the little 1 point talent right above chain lightning called Lightning Storm gives you instant cast Chain Lightnings immediately after 30% of your Lightning Strikes. One could argue that despite the loss of the 20% damage bonus to Chain Lightning reducing your AOE burst potential, this change is actually forcing you to use a mechanic that will actually INCREASE your SINGLE TARGET instant cast burst potential. It is not going to be quite as painful a nerf as people are afraid of. The public test server is showing that hybrid spec is still very very viable.
  10. Hmm I didn't have this problem, cause as a sorc I was able to just cleanse the whirlwind, but you might do better to use Talos (or even Khem if you are dps spec). She only casts the whirlwind about once every 30 seconds or so, so if you can save your Jolt for that and move you and your companion OUT OF AOE and LoS her if the aoe is on her you should be able to do it. Otherwise, if you find that you are HAVING to eat a whirlwind, save all your defensive cooldowns for it and just focus on survival for those 8 seconds. Then go back to interrupting it. One thing I can say is that even when geared out I have found Ashara to be one of the weakest companions...even damage-wise. I'm sure others will hate me for saying that, but I have always prefered Khem. I kill things so much faster with him out than with Ashara because my damage from behind a meatshield is so much greater than my damage while tanking for Ashara. Hope that helps.
  11. I choose you, Bobenstein. Use your Double-Kick Attack!
  12. The whole question would be settled by allowing re-spec of ACs. But I won't hold my breath.
  13. Thank you all for your advice, I will consider it in my choice. My friends keep urging me to roll a marauder because they feel that they are incredibly powerful at 50, however I generally dislike pure dps classes, particularly ones with very little crowd control, as PvP is more often team vs. team rather than 1v1. With little to help your teammates besides killing their attackers outright, pure dps classes seem to lack tools necessary to 'turn the tide' of a very uneven fight and actually save people. You might win the battle but lose the war since your team takes too many losses to maintain a defensive lineThat being said I think I will probably eventually roll one anyway, just for the experience, but for now I will probably roll a juggernaut or a healer of some kind. I just wish that dual specs were in the game, leveling in PVE between games as a healer would be irritating.
  14. And I don't mean, which class ****SUCKSTHEMOSTbuffTHEMbiowarezzzz. I have been playing a sorcerer practically since release, and have done exceedingly well in pvp, and have found that with the right spec and careful positioning/timing sorcerer has quite a few very interesting possibilities for not just facerolling a few kills but for absolutely dominating a warzone. Sorcerer is a class that I have found it is easy to 'do ok' with, but that it takes a little more creativity to bring out the absolutely devastating potential. That being said, I am looking to roll a new class and I am looking for one that is a real challenge to do very well with, one that takes effort and thought to tease out the full potential. I have pvped 80% of my online time since release and have seen people of all levels, classes and specs do very well with, though obviously some classes more than others. What do you think is the class that is the best 'diamond in the rough' so to speak, the one that everyone QQs about for being underpowered but that in your experience just needs a bit more effort to master, and why?
  15. You will pay the price for your lack of vision! *lightniiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnngggggggg*
