  1. I think a lot of it is because people are stuck at home, but a lot of it is Onslaught too. I think the game lost a lot of players in KOTFE/KOTET (and to some degree SOR). For people who aren't die-hard fans, Star Wars means Jedi versus Sith and Republic versus Empire. People who came to the game for that were suddenly fighting The Eternal Empire where Jedi and Sith were teaming up, etc. I imagine returning players who are stuck at home and suddenly have time to MMO game again went to check out what's going on with SWTOR and saw that the game has returned to the classic model. Happy for new story that has returned to the basics, they came back. Newer players show up by word of mouth or because they check out what MMOs are out there, how difficult they are to jump into, and how new player friendly they are. They discover that if you're a new player, SWTOR is a good MMO for people to start.
  2. Delete this. Figured out what I did. I must have had a case of toddler mom brain and accidentally chose to skip Fractured Alliances. :face palm:
  3. Hey! You guys actually seem pretty ideal and what I was seeking. Lots of people, unrestricted other than maturity level, different styles of play. Just to confirm, you're on Star Forge right (did a search for all of the names in your post and an online guild member search didn't have any hits, so figure I better ask)? I'm not 100% how the server mergers worked other than that they happened. When I logged back in a few days ago half my characters were on Star Forge and half were on Satele Shan, which still has me so confused. My highest level character was on Star Forge and my largest Legacy Stronghold was on Satele Shan ::face palm:: so I had to decide whether I was going to care more about the stronghold or doing the new story and leveling faster. New story and leveling won out.
  4. LF active and friendly casual guild. I don't care if you do FPs or OPs or anything. I just want to make some friends in-game to chat and occasionally play with, and I'm sick of reading general chat. I'm a stay at home mom of an almost 2 year old, so I play at random hours, and I get interrupted a lot, and my play time is limited when I can play. While not a necessity, a guild with other parents and such who understand would be ideal. My gaming history (so people don't go "uht oh, liability for our social guild" -- is that even a thing?): I've played SWTOR off and on since launch. I used to HC mythic raid in WoW. I did some raiding here and in FFXIV for a bit too. I'm subscribed and not FTP (really no clue if that makes any difference whatsoever in this game, but know it does in others). I quit gaming all together a bit over 2 years ago because...well..."almost 2 year old" and picked SWTOR back up earlier this week -- felt like it was the right MMO choice since it has the best story, allows for a lot more single-player gaming experience where I can step away when needed, and a player can invest as much or little time as they want into it and still have fun things to do in-game. If your guild fits, I'm currently playing Lunasong on Pub side on Star Forge. <3
  5. I'm not sure about the "big deal" in my real life part, but I wholly agree with the above quoted portion. Some estimate would be much appreciated. I know some people in this (and other) threads are upset simply because they want to transfer off their dead realms and are unable to do so; however, another group of us are not meeting obligations we've made to other people because we're unable to do so. Personally, in and out of game, I like meeting my obligations on time and making good first impressions, but this delay has placed me in the position where I've been unable to do either of these things. At a minimum, I would like to provide those who are relying on me to transfer with status as to when this issue will be resolved.
  6. <Fallen Angels> is currently seeking people for its EST ops group. This is a newly formed group, and we are just starting Story Mode content. We are seeking all classes, disciplines, and roles. Since this group is just starting out, we have no gear or experience requirements. If you are looking to 'get into ops' but you've never been given the opportunity to prove yourself as capable, this is a great opportunity to start off with a new group! ___________________________________________________________________ Ops Days & Times Wednesdays / Sundays - 7:30p to 10:30p EST (4:30p to 7:30p server) These days may change as the team evolves. We may also add additional days on a case-by-case basis. Allegiance Galactic Republic ** For this operations group. Note, we do have an Imperial guild too. Voice Chat Mumble All raiding players must be able to listen into mumble. Tanks must have a working mic. Level, Gear & Experience Needed Level 50; required by game to zone into the raid; tanks please be level 65. No gear level requirements; use the correct gear for your role (i.e. tanks in tanking gear; healers in healing gear; dps in dps gear). We can give advise on the correct gear if you are unsure. No prior ops experience necessary. We will teach the ops we're familiar with, and learn new ones together. Website http://fallenangelsofharbinger.enjin.com/ ** We schedule our ops on a sign-up basis using our guild calendar. Players who sign-up are given priority on raid spots over those who do not. ___________________________________________________________________ If you're interested in this group, please contact Solsong or Hendawg in-game, through this site, through our guild website, or at solsongmoonflower@gmail.com. We'll be happy to answer any questions you have and see if you'll be a fit for our guild community. Our goal is to create a fun environment where our guild's members can enjoy all aspects of SWTOR. We are a very active guild, and while this specific post is seeking players for operations, together our guild enjoys doing FPs; heroic questing; conquest; datacron hunting; HK missions; Star Fortresses; and the occasional pvp match. We're also known to sit in mumble and talk for hours while doing our own thing. Our guild's members range in age from 18 to 60, with the majority of the guild being somewhere in the middle. Our experience levels range from players completely new to gaming to former hardcore gamers in SWTOR and other games. Guild Perks Imperial & Republic guilds 10% XP bonus Flagships on both sides Helpful and patient veteran players who are willing to work with and teach newer players Tight knit growing guild community where people enjoy the social aspects of the game together.
  7. Some of our regular events include: - Weekly KP & EV Story Mode operation runs on both Pub and Imp sides - Weekly Datacron hunts - Weekend ops for people who can't make the weekdays - Hard mode ops (usually Pub side) for those who are geared for them and interested in a bit more focused content - Impromptu heroic mission farming as a team - Impromptu leveling as a group through heroic missions and TFPs For example, just this past week, our team did the following: - Datacron hunting (Tues) - HM EV Pub side (Weds) - HK-1 part/quest farming (Thurs) - First two bosses of SM ToS Pub side (Fri) (after two bosses, two people had real life happen) - KP 8-man SM Pub side (Fri) - KP SM Imp side (Sat) - EV SM Pub & Imp side (Sun) - SM TC Pub side (Sun) - SM KP 16-man Imp side (Mon) - Lots of heroic farming - Power leveling through heroic missions for anyone who wanted to join - Lots of FPs in different modes ...and probably some other stuff that I forgot about. If you're seeking a fun and active guild, check us out! Also, if you're an EST player who is interested in weekly ops starting at 7:30p EST, contact me or Hendawg. If you're a PST player interested in ops starting at 7:30p PST contact Jaista or Aaldari. We're all available in-game, by these forums, or through our guild website.
  8. We are still looking for some people who are interested in running ops on an EST friendly schedule. Our plan is to play 4:30p to 7:30p server (so 7:30p to 10:30p EST). Since it's easy and fun, we plan to start with Eternity Vault this Wednesday. Since we're starting with Story Modes, we have no gear or experience requirements; we will teach the encounters we know and learn together the ops new to us. For Story Modes, any of our guild members who are level 50+ are welcome to attend. If interested, contact Hendawg or any of my characters in-game (I'm usually on Junipur or Solsong (Pub) or Toxicthorn (Imp - current leveling character) but the full spread of them is listed below). Alternatively, message us through these forums or our guild's website.
  9. If you're interested in EST ops, please contact me or Hendawg in-game. Alternatively, feel free to private message us through these forums.
  10. From what I've gathered from reading this forum, you want to use accuracy augments to assist with reaching the 110% accuracy point, and use enhancements for crit/aclarity to ~1300/700 respectively. If your gear allows for 110% accuracy without full accuracy augments, then you want to substitute in crit/alacrity augments (as needed) when/if you're past the accuracy point. The balance sage guide is decent for madness sorcerer: http://dulfy.net/2015/11/12/swtor-4-0-balance-sage-pve-guide-by-splizza/ and reflects similar information. If you don't play a sage to compare, the active ability mirrors that you'll need so you can read the guide are: ** Weaken Mind = Affliction Telekinetic Throw = Force Lightning Mental Alacrity = Polarity Shift Disturbance = Lightening Strike Force Potency = Recklessness Force in Balance = Death Field Sever Force = Creeping Terror Force Serenity = Force Leech Vanquish = Demolish Force Empowerment = Unlimited Power Forcequake = Force Storm ** Borrowed from this thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=832196
  11. Your post is kind of silly since they actually did something in this direction today: http://www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=309 Click into the group for the type of realm you play on and there's a list for servers that start with <insert whatever here>.
  12. Watching the video, and since the ability to do so already exists in the game, it's sad to see that they didn't create the res point in a base with the green -> red lock out walls where if you resurrect and elect to venture outside of that safe spot you are met with a red wall on the other side, yet, if you resurrect and elect to quick travel out of there, you can do that too. At least that'd allow Republic players an escape if they wanted out of Ilum.
  13. Placing thoughts in a spoiler tag just in case =X:
  14. When I played LOTRO there were four real life females (five including myself) to three males in the small casual kinship I was a part of. My WoW guild -- which was a top ranked ten man guild, and topped the leaderboard for T12 for ten-man strict -- was lead by a female player. Of the three officers, two of them were female. Additionally, we had a large number of female players (to the degree that at one point the team of which I was a part of had more female than male raiders). The "main group" had no less than three of ten consistent females at any time and still does. So, not only are female players out there in every mmo from lotor to swtor, but there are female players out there who are good at playing computer games. In essence, I don't think it's MMOs on a whole, rather, I imagine it's that the people you personally elect to meet and group up with in MMO's happen to not have a lot of female players around. I'm not sure what the reasoning for that would be, but, you may want to take an objective look at company you select for yourself.
  15. Hardcore raiding guilds don't care what your professions are. Period. Look at actual hard core raiding guilds across multiple games and you'll see a myriad of professions, along with odd specs and stat weights which you may not chose yourself and which an average player would not get by with. Hardcore guilds care how well you play and how well you understand your class (do you play and understand it well enough to keep up through substantial class nerfs, can you tinker with specs, etc. and still play it extremely well), how fast your reaction times are, how observant you are, whether you move when you need to and stand still when it's required, whether you drag draggable effects through the raid or find a better path, how quick you are to "fill holes," "make pick ups," "move," notice and jump on things that need to be taken care of which others may not be able to do but have the sense to not do that when it'd cause a mess, and ffs wipe rather than dragging a fight out, whether you're capable of creative thinking to use not only your classes abilities but utility, and what you as an intelligent and thinking person -- rather than a key punching drone -- offer to a raid. Having those things is more significant than a guy who brings an extra 30+ endurance to a raid. My suggestion would be that if you want to raid hardcore, ditch the midline raiding guild that is forcing min/maxing on you and find an actual hardcore raiding guild. You'll know when you've found one because they're not easy to get into, it’s not uncommon for ‘members’ to sit as bench warmers until spots open, they have little to no turn over, they have an amazing environment, the majority of their raiding members may min/max but it's not all of them and it's out of choice not requirement, they're at the top of their game, and they do not have elitist arrogant attitudes because they don't have to prove themselves to anyone.
  16. So, what was the point of dropping archeology? You kept slicing and...? Surely not artifice or synthweaving.
  17. Found a thread with the info, so deleted request for someone to post more than a jerky response.
  18. Nothing major here. In fairness, I've experienced bugs, but nothing game breaking. For things I'm positive are bugs and not just my system having a packeting issue, I submit bug reports for them hoping that the reports catch the eyes of someone who's trying to fix things. I was happy to see a fix for one of the bug reports I submitted. I'm sure 30,000 other people also reported the bug, but, it tickled me that they fixed it. It was minor and cosmetic, but, that it was fixed indicated to me that they are trying to fix what they can as quickly as they can. I've also had a few crashes here and there, but, the game's been out 18 days and so I'd expect that. I mean despite the "omg this isn't warcraft" qq seen on these forums, heck I've had crashes with wow (as has every guildmate I can think of, a lot of times during raids which makes things very difficult as everyone has to wait for them to reboot their systems), and as is extremely common for around two weeks after any of that game's patches; so again, expected with a new title, definitely not an "I quit" factor.
  19. Next to the crew skill and above the number indicating how many points you have in that skill there's a bar. Immediately to the right of the bar there's a box with an X in it. Click on that box.
  20. Yep, agreed. And, as for myself and a number of my guild mates, this ^ is currently what we are doing. We have active WoW subs and inactive characters and accounts. As long as this game eventually works out the bugs -- unlike lots of folks on the forums here, most of us realize it's a new release and are pretty patient about it -- and provides content to keep us entertained, I don't imagine we'll swap back; eventually, the subs will eventually run out. I can't imagine the handful of us are exclusive in this. This isn't to say Blizzard doesn't have a massive player base (clearly it does), but rather, that their current subscriber base is by no means reflective of their concurrent user base. Moreover, while some of us may log in here and there to do this or that in WoW -- adding at a given time to their concurrent users -- there are folks like my guildmates and myself who are letting the subs run.
  21. Haven't tried it. I'm curious why you go and get your crew skills at level 2 though. I took a BH through class quests only to get Mako so that I can sit in Fleet with her and craft away. Doing nothing but class quests I ended at level six. Not that six levels are a ton of time invested, but is there a quicker way to get a companion so that at level two you can use your crew skills? Or, is it just for the gathering that you go and learn them at that level?
