  1. PvP is not "bonus game content". It's a core part of the game, Treek and HK-51 are bonus content, Tauntaun farming is bonus content, PvP is not.
  2. Mods are by nature, something you install for a personal touch, but doesn't effect the game externally i.e. You experience the mod, but nobody else will. Unfortunately they don't work that way, in WoW for example you are considered a bad player if you don't have the "must have" mods installed, especially for raiding and PvP. And I fear if BioWare allow mods, this will happen to ToR as well.
  3. Species like that would be awkward because they won't be able to use most helmets, just look at Twi'leks. That being said, new helmets could be implemented, or maybe re-model current helmets to "fit" the head designs of the new races. My personal choice would be: Kel Dor (Tricky, seeing as their voices would have to be voice-modulated and the females of the species aren't known for their beauty, by human standards of course) Nautolan Kaleesh Taung (The original Mandalorians, can be brought back through cloning or some other mcguffin) Bi-pedal droid (This won't happen since they can't be Jedi and Sith classes, and would also require a truck load of new voice acting to fit into the story, it remains a pipe-dream of mine)
  4. Let's have some fun here. I've come up with a small list of voice actors I think would have been perfect for the playable classes. It's up to you guys to expand upon the list (I tried to come up with more but I couldn't, I don't know that many actors with distinctive voices that fitted the roles too). Here is my list so far: Republic Male Trooper - Arnold Schwarzenegger I think he would be perfect for the role since his forte is hard-boiled, commando type soldiers (Predator, Commando, Eraser). Smuggler - Michael Madsen He has a fantastic dry deep and sarcastic tone that carries well and would suit both light and dark side Smugglers. Jedi Knight - Jedi Consular - Female Trooper - Smuggler - Jedi Knight - Jedi Consular - Empire Male Bounty Hunter - Michael Ironside He has a very deep, very sinister voice that would perfectly suit a Bounty Hunter. When he starts talking in his "serious voice" (as demonstrated in this video) you pay attention. Imperial Agent - Sith Warrior - Before your fingers begin even typing the letters "James Earl Jones", let me just say that he was already Darth Vader, and casting him again as the Warrior would cheapen the performance incredibly. Sith Inquisitor - Alan Rickman Very dark, very sophisticated, very British. What more is there to say? In case that doesn't sway you, here is a video of him as Professor Snape in the Harry Potter series. Female Bounty Hunter - Imperial Agent - Sith Warrior - Sith Inquisitor - Yes, I realize that I don't have any female actors listed, I just couldn't come up with any that fit the classes well, I'm sure you guys will come up with a few names that I'll facepalm and yell "Why didn't I think of that?!" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WARNING This is a purely hypothetical "What if?" scenario and should not be taken seriously. This thread was created for the sole purpose of having fun, that is all. Don't worry, be happy! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    New PvP'er help

Interesting. I would like to know your reason behind this, if you don't mind of course.

    New PvP'er help

Trust me, I'm already accustomed to keybinding, I have a Razer Naga mouse, as well as a Logitech G13 keyboard. Also, I PvP'd a bit in WoW, so I'm accustomed to hotkey MMO PvP. Thanks for the advice though, it's appreciated nonetheless. As for your other points, Powertech Pyro sounds great, I'm not liking the squishy part though. I see that you play a Marauder, how would you describe your experience, is it smooth? Disregarding player skill for a moment, how would you rate it compared with the Powertech, in terms of burst and survivability? And a thank you to everyone else who has replied to this thread, your comments are very helpful!

    New PvP'er help

Hello. I've recently taken an interest in PvP. I played a few games on my highest level character (38 Sorcerer) and I thought it was quite fun, even though my team lost all the matches I played, but I'll get to that in a second. I have two questions: 1. What class has the best burst? I keep hearing that burst is the best thing in PvP, but I'm wondering what class has the best, I'm looking to start a new character dedicated to PvP and was hoping to have a smooth time doing it. Survivability and mobility are also nice too. 2. What server and faction has the best win/loss ratio at any given time? This is the most important question. On Red Eclipse Empire side, the 20 games I've played have all been total failures, non of my team where co-ordinated and all they did was fight. It wasn't fun. And I don't want to play if my team keeps loosing all the time. It don't care if the server is US or EU, my internet connection is good enough for both. This might seem like a silly question, but I would still like to know if such a perfect server and faction exists. Hell, I'd take a 50/50 win ratio over a 10/90. Thank you for your time.
  8. Probably Hutt. Think about it: They live for centuries, they're hermaphrodites so any one of them can have children or even chose a gender for themselves. The only downside is without a powerful organization at your back you're very vulnerable, even though Hutts have thick skin and lots of fat protecting them from aggressors, they're still slow and large and thus will have difficulty moving around. Still, I don't think it would be too hard to start a criminal empire
  9. WoW was similarly hard in vanilla, not as difficult as FF XI but not as easy as it is now. They only reason it got easier is because "the majority" of people on the forums complained about the difficulty. While in reality, the real majority didn't mind and actually enjoyed the challenge, myself included. But only a very small vocal minority posts on the forums and Blizzard in all their wisdom decided to listen to them. Thanks to them, BioWare got it's ideas for how the game should be run from the new, easier WoW.
  10. What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets.
  11. Thanks for the help guys Wasn't entirely what I was hoping for but close enough.
  12. Can you post any examples? But try to avoid spoilers of course.
  13. I see. That's somewhat disappointing if it's true.
  14. Hey all. I was thinking of creating a Jedi Knight since I hear the story is one of the best and one of the most important to the overall canon. However, I really don't want to go through the whole game saying cheesy lines such as "Helping others is both a duty and an honor." which simply make me cringe, Jedi are warriors after all, especially the Knights who are more combat centric than the Consulars. My question is this: Are there any moments during the main story where you are presented with a very important choice, something that could tip the scales of balance and seriously change your character arc. Something similar to when Anakin killed Mace Windu to help a Sith Lord and thus betraying the Order in order to save his wife from dying. Obviously nothing that dramatic but something similar. I want to see my party members who have grown fond of me to say stuff like "It's like I don't know you anymore." Or "You're scaring me, stop this!" something that is a complete opposite of Jedi philosophy and more akin to that of the Sith. The way I want to play my character is start out Light Side, a naive Jedi trying to help others and befriend everyone, with a "There is good in everyone" type of philosophy. But gradually, as the horrors of the reality come crashing down on him he snaps and changes into a tragic anti-hero who falls to the Dark side because he believes there is no other way, alienating those around him and doing more harm than good, but he's too blinded by his pain and anger to see it. Does this happen? Or should I not bother? TL;DR - Is there a moment in the Jedi Knight story where your character is presented with a major moral choice with consequences that can alienate your companions and completely change your characters moral code?
  15. You have to consider lore in these arguments. Do you really expect a military to send out a ship to pick you up and take you to the fleet every hour because you want to buy something at the GTM or reset your talents, or pick up a PvP/Flashpoint quest? That's the equivalent of a military helicopter picking up a soldier in Iraq to take him to Washington DC just so he could pick up some groceries.
  16. Darth Baras is your stereotypical Sith, megalomaniac, conniving, sinister, sadistic, secretive, intimidating, powerful, superiority complex, dastardly plan to take over the galaxy, the works. He's well, written, well acted and is a perfect teacher for a Sith, stern, yet generous and fearful of your power. It shows why the Rule of Two works so well. He's my favorite character Empire side by far, Grand Moff Kilran is a close second, followed by Darth Malgus. Lord/Darth Zash is pathetic compared to Baras, she's evil but she comes off as goofy and I could never take her seriously, for one, she never does anything, relying on you the whole time while she sits in her office and goes to parties, ironically when she says "There's more to being a Sith than mulling around in dark tombs and crushing Tu'kata skulls apprentice." it applies to her more than any other Sith. Baras actually does something, he uses his time and you wisely, never for trivial tasks or pointless rivalries with other lords, he hides his ambitions well.
  17. You seem to be playing a stereotypical, Saturday morning cartoon villain type of character, while I'm not criticizing or judging you, I just think it's amusing. I normally try to play unique and interesting characters, for example I'm playing a female Marauder who's ruthless to her enemies but friendly and cheerful to her friends and allies, I treat Vette with kindness and respect but I always pick the most sadistic and evil choices when talking with enemies. I'm perusing a romance with Quin since I enjoy watching him become flustered when I flirt with him. But I digress, my point is that women can sound just as and in some cases even more intimidating than men, as I said earlier it's all in the delivery and the intent behind the words. If a woman held a lightsaber (or any other weapon for that matter) to your throat and told you she would kill you in gruesome and horrifying ways, you would be scared ***less, trust me.
  18. I wouldn't call a main companion for a class a minor character, Steve Blum voices Andronikos Revel.
  19. You don't need a gravely, 100 cigarettes a day type of voice to sound intimidating. It's all about the delivery and the intent behind the words. A 7 year old girl can sound intimidating if intent is behind the words. That's why the voice actors never sound truly intimidating because they're in a safe little recording studio, reading lines from a script.
  20. Why? She's perfectly viable as a Marauder companion. My favorite is definitely "Alright, back to Sith business... Grrr" and I sometimes keep clicking on her until she says it.
  21. Some of these names are a bit childish, won't say which ones though.
  22. We don't lose all that much DPS on the first few seconds anyway, Ravage is a great ability to start out with, and Force Charge gives us 3 rage (4 with talents) which is enough to start you off. I don't really understand why you're complaining about this.
  23. Agreed. I don't mean to be mean here, but the amount of horrible Assassins outweigh the good ones, at least the ones I've seen and played with so far. People see the double-bladed lightsaber when choosing their AC and are instantly attracted to it, without bothering to look at play style or end-game expectations. Similar effect with Marauders, Mercenaries and Snipers.
  24. Agreed, the PvP sets look 100x better. More vibrant colours, cool design and actually look intimidating. That dunce cap is really ridiculous, out of all the PvE sets the Warrior gear looks the best, some of the Bounty Hunter stuff looks cool too. I'll probably end up doing PvP endgame because of this.
