  1. Clearly, us men are better adherents to the Jedi code and are strong enough to resist the wiles of a Sithly woman than women are (Oh, God, I'm only kidding, please don't kill me...)
  2. Can we get Holiday without Theran? Because I'd totally take that instead of Theran.
  3. You start out with no abilities. How is that not a "joke suggestion?" How would armor be handled? Would they use specific weapons, or would you have open weapon selection? Would they be ranged or melee? Would this change depending on who you choose to play as? Overall... I just don't see it working, at least not without extensive, extensive QA testing for balance issues, playability, and all that sort of stuff. Sorry, I just don't see it. And trust me, this is coming from someone who's wanted a "droid class" in the game since it came out, back when we actually had Droid Armor.
  4. I read that and just had that line from Red v. Blue in my head:
  5. TC, my advice is this: Work on getting to a high level. Once you get anywhere near the 55-65 range, the weekly Heroics drop a lot of money, the mobs you fight drop a lot of money, everything drops a lot of money. Get a few characters to this range, and you can easily rake in the cash. I've gone from completely broke on a character from having to purchase all their crafting schematics again to having all their schematics bought and maybe 100k left over from running Heroics on... maybe two planets? The cash flow increases exponentially when you get up in level. Credit-hoarding isn't terribly hard to do when leveling, but it's also far, far easier when you get higher-leveled just because of the inflated values. If you're having trouble at the low end of the scale, level up some and try again when you're closer to the level cap. If you're trying to find a look you like that's within your price range, be open with what you want. I tried on a few outfits for a character I was starting last night, checking the GTN for prices on the whole outfit, and had to go through several before I found one that was both within my price range, and was something I could live with for the life of the character. What started off as trying to get the Revealing Bodysuit wound up going through Canderous Ordo's outfit, some other outfit, and finally landed on Mission Vao's outfit which only cost a cool million as opposed to the probably 5-10 million for the others. If you want money quick, you could always buy a Hypercrate, toss it up on the GTN after the mandatory binding period, and sell it directly for a large lump sum. That way it's a guaranteed amount you get after... what, a day and a half? Two days? And wouldn't require a character that's any higher than off the starter planet.
  6. Well, the other thing to take into account, as mentioned (I think?) by the TC, is the lines that'd need to be recorded and others that'll need to be thrown out with this change. I think there's several entire conversations once you romance someone that only appear when you romance them, and they only have (for example) "Kira referring to Jedi Knight as a man" and "Jedi Knight (Male) responses to Kira." At minimum, there'd be lines for the opposing gender for those scenes, at worst, lines for the opposing gender, lines for the romantic interest, and lines for crew members who may comment on the situation (I think Doc and a few others point out that they know Kira and I are a couple, but I could be wrong.) So, outside of coding, there'd have to be all those lines re-recorded, as well.
  7. I agree, especially with the Gree event. It has probably my favorite reward weapons / items from the event, but I'll admit, I'm a solo player. I hate holding people up with my sometimes-erratic schedule due to personal real-life stuff that can crop up at a moment's notice, and that keeps me away from stuff like Operations and large-scale group content outside the maybe 15 minutes needed for the Heroic. Should the dailies offer a reward selection of taking the rep token or a "canister fragment" appropriate to the type of rep token rewarded, it'd be a better way of going about it, I think. For instance, a green Rep Token reward would grant 1 fragment, a blue 2, and a purple 3, with 6 total fragments needed to "complete" a Gree Canister? Maybe tweak that number a bit, I wouldn't want it too low or too high and I honestly forget what the daily missions grant rep-wise. This could also be applied to other events, as suggested - say, with the Bounty event, you can get a "partial bounty bonus" or something for being such a "renowned bounty hunter!" or something. Collect so many fragments and you get a bonus contract completion, just like how if you were to hire a bounty hunter in real life (I imagine) you'd pay less for a relatively-unknown bounty hunter, or a great deal for a well-known one who has a reputation of always getting his man. Probably the same thing for the Rakghoul event, too. Overall, I like the idea. Boost rewards a bit, but not by a tremendous amount. And actually, thinking back on the math and how frequently the Bounty Week event runs, maybe not even have it with that event and just have boosted credit gains in place of a rep token, or a lockbox reward or something. But the Gree event? I'd like to see those rewards increased in some way, shape, or form, if just for those of us who don't run Ops or go after the World Bosses on tap every time.
  8. My theory is that they probably think current subbers will buy them with their credit horde before unsubbing, then using those unlocks at that time. You won't get any money above the cap, but you can still spend it without the need for an escrow transfer while you still have it, and still get to retain the unlocks after you unsub.
  9. Is that the vendor that sells all the Black Talon / Esseles drops? I'll have to try to hit him up then, I know they used to be in one spot on Coruscant but when I swung by there since coming back, he wasn't there and was replaced with a mod vendor. Anyway, thanks to everyone in the thread - I'll rescour the capitol planets again and see if I can find these guys, and worst-case I'll make do with nonmoddable offhands until I find / buy one off the GTN at the right level.
  10. Hmm... I know that used to be true but I was figuring it might have changed. Or possibly it gives you one when you do your class switch but the characters I'm using now already changed classes before they made that change (I know stuff like the Guardian / Commando didn't get orange-level offhands when picking their specialization previously, but maybe they do now.) Anyway, thanks for the heads-up. I guess worst-case scenario I just deal with it until I hit a level where I can nab one and swap it in at that point.
  11. Like the topic says, I have a few lower-level characters that are going to need some offhand items that are moddable - obviously stuff like sabers and guns I can just plop one from the Collections window and that's solved, but are low-level, moddable knives, generators, focii, and whatnot still somewhat easy / reliable to find somewhere? Looking on the GTN, it looks like there's not nearly as many nowadays until you hit the higher levels. Anyone know where to grab some? Just spam Black Talon / Esseles over and over until I get them? Thanks.
  12. They should do that with the anniversary fireworks displays, too. I have four set up around a sculpture and I would love for all of them to fire off simultaneously like an organized pyrotechnics display, but right now it's kinda... lacking.
  13. What's odd is you can go kill the kingpin, and then deal with the henchmen "hoping to get a shot at the big man himself" after that.
  14. 1 million for a global unlock would also be nice. Either way, something cheaper than 1 million per character. Edit: And easier than the entire questline per character. Since someone will pop in and say that - "you can get it for free if you blow a bunch of time scanning for parts!"
  15. Some of them, yeah. The Satele / Malgus statues, I think, were some of these, as was the Revan mask (assuming it's still in there.) And I think the Mira outfit is now a vendor rep thing when it was in boxes exclusively before. Personally, I'm fine with the vendor rep items being in GCCs as well. The problem with the GCCs, though, is that they're far and wide mostly useless, I think. I never seem to get anything good out of them, and most times, I seem to get those in the new packs in place of items from those new packs.
  16. Wow, I was guessing at it. I knew it was two rows of them but forget if it was 4-wide or 5 and just took a stab in the dark on it.
  17. Isn't the Treek unlock the cross-character Legacy thing and the actual cost to use Treek on other characters 300k per character? I say, if anything, make the cost the same for HK. 300k for a companion is a lot easier to swallow than 1 million, especially when you consider that to unlock Treek in-game it costs 1 million credits that initial time, and subsequent unlocks are only 300k afterwards.
  18. The weeklies are unlocked on that one character who bought and used the unlock only. Outside of that, you can do the weekly on everyone who has a weekly to do, one weekly a day. Example: Character A, a Republic character, has every Kingpin unlocked and available. He picks up the Ord Mantell kingpin and the Coruscant regular. When he returns tomorrow, he can do any weekly kingpin other than Ord Mantell, and he can do any regular bounty other than the one for his current kingpin bounty (i.e. he can nab Voss kingpin and do Coruscant regular again, but not Coruscant kingpin and regular unless maybe he turns one in and goes back after accepting the Coruscant regular.) Character B has weeklies unlocked for Tatooine and Hutta (an Imp character.) Even if Character A did Tatooine Weekly on there, Character B can also do the Tatooine Weekly today - however, if they don't have it unlocked, they'll need to spend 5 contracts to unlock it. Ideally, it's best (I think) to unlock all of one faction's weeklies on one character, then unlock the faction-specific ones for the other faction on another character. Later on down the line, you can look into unlocking more weeklies on other characters, since it'll only boost the total number of contracts per Bounty Hunt week you can get, but given that it takes 5 completed contracts to unlock one weekly, you won't see a "gain" on unlocking one contract right away and would need to do the weekly every Bounty Hunt week for 5 weeks to break even on the cost of it. In that regard, it's easier to have alt characters and just spam even the lowest-level regular Hunts every day instead of unlocking tons of Kingpin ones. With a server cap of 21 characters, that's 147 completed contracts you can get in a single week without even touching the Kingpin ones. I think there's a total of 10 kingpins, 8 per faction (ones on Ord Mantell, Hutta, Drommund Kaas, and Coruscant are faction-specific) so you'd be spending 840 contracts to unlock every kingpin on every character possible, assuming they're all at the maximum level the kingpin bounties go to. This would increase your gains by double, to be sure, but you'd still be looking at a total of about 3 periods before you started making a profit on "completed contracts." Even reducing the number to 7 of the 8 possible kingpins (since you can only do 7 in a period, I believe, as it's a "bounty WEEK" and not a "bounty WEEK AND A DAY,") you're still shelling out 735 contracts and only getting, at best, 294 per week total. So, short version, for what it's worth - I think it's only best if you go out and grab one set of Kingpin bounties, however you decide to distribute them by faction, and wait a month to do the other half of the achievements - be they kill or capture.
  19. Series 212 Cyborg Armor and the Dramatic Extrovert's set. Now, between the Cyborg set and the Extrovert helmet, I can turn any companion I don't like into a droid and not have to look at their stupid faces!
  20. So... question. Honest, legitimate question that's on-topic for some of this: Am I one of the Founding Fathers of the United States? I mean, I live here, I was born here, I'm patriotic, but am I a Founding Father? I pay a lot in taxes - if I pay more, can I be a Founding Father then? As for the other stuff... I'd support this if, and only if, they made everything the CE vendor currently sells 1 credit, and bring back the speeder they had at launch but subsequently removed (also for one credit.) Also, just to be an extra-big jerk, I'd say the "CE Vendor Cartel Shop" offerings should be a random chance box. I've played off and on. I bought the CE. Never got a chance to get any of the schematics they had up for sale for a limited time because of how much they cost, nor had a chance to buy the super-expensive deluxe speeder they offered before they took that out of the CE shop, as well. People want some of this stuff - it's not impressive, I think, but they want it all the same. And that's fine - but give us CE owners an edge over the Johnny-Come-Latelies who'll shell out $20 for something we shelled out $200 for (not saying people payed just for access to the vendor, but the vendor access is part of that $200 package.) I think it'd be about as fair a compromise between the two that you'd get. Honestly, the only thing I've ever bought from the CE vendor is... I think two of the black/gold dyes. Unless those are from the VIP guy, and the CE one is a green / gold one.
  21. They did something similar with some other companions. For example, anyone who could use a Doublesaber or an Electrostaff is now locked to using a Doublesaber unless they're a PC. However, anyone who could use a Techstaff can now use an Electrostaff. I know anyone who could use a Techblade can now use a Vibrosword, but I'm not sure if single-saber companions can still use them or not. Now, personally speaking, that DOES suck. I kinda had a plan for one character to have no lightsaber-wielding characters on the team, and they were a Jedi Knight themselves. Now, while the player can still be Saber-free, the companions are forced to use them.
  22. As a few others said, I haven't even entertained the thought of joining a guild in this game. I'm not an endgame player - I mainly do heroics and just silly, fun "I'm bored and I can do this without much planning" stuff, at least when not working on alts. Seeing the chat on fleet and what it's devolved into since I last played the game a bit over a year ago, and... honestly, it's a community I kinda don't want to deal with. As mentioned, there's some nice guys out there, and I'm fine with cracking a joke every now and then, but on Harbinger, it's the stupidest, most inane drivel I've ever seen in a game. Plus, like others mentioned, people just seem rude in-game when doing heroics and such. There's no "Okay, there's three things here, three of us here, we'll each take a group and we'll all be Coolsville." The other two guys, more often than not, will attempt to grab all three groups for themselves because "MY time is more valuable than YOUR time, and WE can't share!"
  23. I'm an altaholic, so I have at least one person for each crafting skill. Used to have more people who used Biochem due to the reusable stims / medpacks, but given that they've all been changed to consumables, they're likely ditching a crafting skill and just taking Slicing and two of the "special mat / companion gift" skills. Thanks again, guys.
  24. They're probably doing a good thing when it comes to me. I may.... or may not... have turned every single one of my Imperial Agent's companions into a droid outside of Temple, who's a cyborg. They all have the same Series 212 cyborg set on with the Dramatic Extrovert's helmet to hide their face, which is appropriately droid-worthy. Temple has on a mix of the newer BX-300 thingy and some of the 212 stuff. DROIDS! EVERYWHERE, DROIDS!!!!
  25. Ok, thanks for the advice on that. I'm assuming when they're green, they're soft-capped (i.e. greatly diminishing returns) and once yellow hard-capped? I know I noticed those before, but kinda guessed at what the green / yellow meant on the character page.
