  1. Hello, EDIT/BRIEF For me Alderaan was a bottleneck of sorts as well (even "complained" on the forums). For the first time we get hostile groups with two Strongs regularly. On later planets things will be tame again. Focus on getting accuracy modifications for your gear, [and learn] to get those CCs to stick. If you can do Alderaan you can get thru the later content just fine. Earlier Posting are you are Seer or a Shadow? As a Sage (Healer/Balance) I finished Chapter 1 at level 30, and Chapter 3 at level 46. Before 45 you can do stuff three levels stronger than you ; past 45 it's four levels. The Crowd-Control prowess is what makes our Class so powerful. - If you use an AOE-companion this will be difficult to take advantage of. On the other hand, not using all abilities on your companions stunts their dps. Equipping accuracy based gear helps with resists against CC and interrupts. Interrupting at the right moment is very important against self-healing enemies. Theran rocks against single tough enemies. When Holliday is doing the mesmerizing dance you must not break that, but instead heal yourself or at least let Theran heal you. ^^ On the other hand, he's very boring for trash mobs. x.x When the class quest would go "red" I'd backrack TWO planets and do the bonus series there. I used Felix (Lt Irroso- Hoth) for that. - less useless running around than with a melee tank. Also use the "attack" command for your companion to tell them where to strike (e.g. not the lifted enemies). For gear: Personally I skilled Artifice. That gets me always a good light saber, as well as "enhancements" for everything. Next xou should focus on getting all orange (customizeable) armor. For 2 commendations each you can get the "Mods" modification for your equipment. - The "armoring" modifications are the expensive ones (7 commendations), so you have to upgrade slowly on them. While leveling I went for endurance, power, accuracy. It was slightly startling to see how quickly low level critical enhancements do sell at low levels. BUT, I think these are not good at early levels. Regards, A
  2. Hello, RE: refresh missiosn ANY completed mission will refresh the available missions. So if there are no tier 5 "mission" missions, send a crew member on a tier 1 "gathering" mission (those are the fastest). In less than 3 minutes they'll b back and you get a new pick at tier 5 missions. Regards, A
  3. Hello, I like to see the health bars of other players at all times. And this seems to only work with nameplates on. What I hate are screen filling Name + Legacy Name + Title compositions. x.x What I like are titles that are brief, Jedi, Darth, Apprentice, Lt, Seargent, Captain, Flygirl, .. The flyboy/girl think I find most cute. :-) Regards, A
  4. Hello, I go with 21/2/18 (well, 21/2/13.. still missing a few levels). I levelled post 1.2 btw. 21 for the channeled heal (and boost to cleanse), 2 for +100 force pool, 13..18 for spamable pebbles/lightning, force return on pebble hit, chance to throw another rock/lightning with Project/Shock, an aoe instant, and soon the instant lift (aka 2nd stun if lift is broken), and the chance for one more instant attack on pebbling. This gives a good mix of healing single targets (bubble first!), and a "quite ok" sustainable damage output. What level are we talking about anyways? Are you using Relics, Stims? Regards, A

Hello, In pvp I (Jedi Sage) use these types of movement a) I chase someone down b) I go turret mode c) I run away as fast as I can d) I position myself to knock an enemy into a trap^^ (that might include a step back) In SWTOR -in theory- there is no use for ranged vs melee combat dance. * The ranged player cannot maintain range against a melee player. * The melee player cannot leave the cone of fire of a ranged player. But -in practice- it is quite distracting when the enemy starts bouncing circles around you. It becomes tempting to try to "outmove" them. DO NOT DO THAT. - Remember: they cannot escape you, you cannot escape them, burn them down... Or at least keep throwing pebbles. Regards, A
  6. Hello, once you unlocked your Lecacy (completing Chapter one at about level 30-33) you can send mails between characters in your Legacy no matter if they are Imperial or Republic. Some crafted armors can only be worn by Republic or Imperial classes, but the recipies can all be learned no matter what side a character is. The recipes are aquired with mission skill missions. Sumary: do not pick the same crafting-only crafting skill on different characters. Might be more useful to put biochem for using reusable stims on the 2nd character, but stick to the actual crafting skills' gathering and mission skills. e.g. the Sith Warrior companion Vette does have a +5 crit on Treasure Hunting - I think one of the highest crit ratios for missions. So I kept that, but twinked with Biochem for stims; also took slicing to find special missions. Regards, A
  8. Hello, I think the "just" should be replaced with "professionally". ^^ The core issue is, that the gameplay outside the story arc missions too often is not (very) entertaining. Recently on Tatooine as part of the Bonus Mission some settlers directed me to a nearby Sandpeople village - according to the mission dialoge hard to find - I step out of the settlement's gate walk 20 paces along that very settlement's wall, look up the next dune: Sandpeople village... Additionally the game supposedly becomes more challenging with Chapter 2. Indeed, there are more "strong" rated enemies. Now, fighting a few challening fights would be nice if it was still mixed with fighting lots of trash for the herioc feeling (me roxxor they sux). But.. instead it is scores of "strong" ones. Which (once you know how to do these fights) will be tedious, or have an anoying death if you fumble because of lowered attention due to boredom). Regards, A
Gruß, A
  11. Hello, Customizeable Equipment pieces do have 3+1 "Modification" slots. * Armoring OR Barrel OR Hilt * Enhancements * Mods * rarely: Augmentations Two Crafting professions produce "Modifications" which help to keep ALL your customizeable gear empowered as you level up. * Artifice: Enhancements * Cybertech: Mods And there are less generic "Modifications" like armoring, barrels and lightsaber hilts. These modifications define the level - hence armor rating or damage - of the item. * Cybertech: Armoring (goes to all Armors!) * Artifice: Hilt (for lightsabers) * Armstech: Barrel (all other wearpons) The "clothing" crafting skills are mostly for looks as you level up. ^^ It also takes a while to gather the customizeable armor recipies. Which can be nice if you like collecting. This might be a game goal for some players. Personally I returned to SWTOR recently and started fresh. I have a Jedi Sage with Artifice. The hilts keep my weapon powerful, and the enhancements get me high endurance (health) and good power. The criticial focused enhancements sell like hot cookies, too. Regards, A
Gruß, A
  13. Hello, leveling Artifice is possible with just Archaelogy. Though if you actually want to use (or sell) items, you will need both skills. Archaelogy: * Power crystal (sometimes two differnt ones in a tier) * Archaelogic Artefacts (sometimes two different ones in a tier) * Color Crystals (red, blue, green) Treasure Hunting: * Yellow Color Crystals are gems * Gemstones for making prototype (blue quality) items * Gemstomes for marking artifact (purple quality) items. Without Gems from Treasure Hunting you can only make "green" quality items. EDIT: You have to reverse engineer "green" quality items to learn the schematics for "blue" items; and "blue" ones for "purple" item schematics. Regards, A
  14. Hello, I wonder, do you want to send your whole crew on max-tier rich gem missions? Regarding the mission refresh: completing any crew skill mission will refresh the mission options. e.g. doing an Archaelogy mission (you will need these power crystals and artifacts, anways); or doing any lower tier mission. Regards, A
LG, Asfrid
