  1. So now we are supposed to play six WZ matches to finish our daily. That is great, so I can run in, get my first medal and then play with my left while reading a book or make a phone call. Never mind that the team is screwed and we lose, what do I care? I got my daily requirement. The devs keep pointing out how much they want their players to play alts but then make changes which make that almost impossible. Assuming i have only 1 alt i am supposed to play 12 matches a day just to keep up with the daily? I understand that a lot of players feel at a disadvantage in PVP, hate coming up against pre-mades and generally dislike losing. I very much doubt that making the daily requirements more undemanding is the correct response though. It just means the good players (many of which have alts - as intended) get annoyed and the more casual players still will lose and get frustrated. Just now the unambitious can frustrate everybody else in the process because losing is OK now. Down 1:0 at huttball? Yeah, whatever. I will just hang out for the rest of the match. To find common ground between casuals and performance players the objective should be "WIN 3 WARZONES OR COMPLETE 6 WARZONES". This at least will give some incentive to try and win. A bad day for the game. ___________ EDIT PLS READ: Actually a win counts for 2 Warzones played. So there is an incentive to win and what I propose has already been implemented, sort of. Now it should be made more clear in the mission description, but other than that, ISSUE RESOLVED.
  2. This is just plainly not true. The respec timer is exactly NOT resetting with the weekly reset (as of last week). If they did reset to 0 every week though I would be quite happy.
  3. Having played this awesome game since launch I cannot help but sit on a bunch of ideas and observations about how I think stuff could be improved. So I will throw out one nugget per day and you guys get to decide if it is gold or rubbish. The biggest black hole of the galaxy is... the cantina on the fleets. If that was thought to develop into a social hub it has failed miserably. It just is the place that gets in the way when you need to get from A to B on the fleet. So why not put in a Huttball Arena where people waiting on the fleet can watch and comment a random Huttball match being played? I would love to see games like that and to show of my own teams moves to the community. Throw in some popcorn and you got SWTORs favourite sport on steroids. It would also help people who aren't pros in the game yet to turn into regular Monday morning quarterbacks... Some technicalities: - The cantina vendor could be transferred into a arena snack vendor and the VIPs (collectors etc) could have their VIP room. Problems: - Some ppl might feel shy to play in front of an audience - People in the adience might help one team via /w or 3rd party software of the opposite team's moves
  4. I didn't propose dual or multi spec. I proposed: - to either have a level-adjusted flat fee for each spec change or - a timer that resets once per week with global reset. I think both ideas are easily implementable and don't cause any unforeseen adverse effects. If one of the 2 proposals were implemented I for one wouldn't even need dual spec. SWTOR isn't WOW or any other game and it would be great if things weren't done in a particular way just because that's how they are done elsewhere.
  5. As I pointed out in the OP, the mechanic right now is that the timer starts each time you respec and ticks down for a week from that moment. Tuesday resets don't currently matter.
  6. I explained why the game mechanics (and mix of ops) make it more necessary for certain classes to respec frequently. I also didn't ask for triple or even dual spec but merely for a more manageable respec cost system. I proposed to either have a flat fee based on level or a timer that resets once a week with weekly reset. I still haven't heard any reasons against doing it that way. What I have heard is ways to work around it. Yet I would prefer a solution that makes work-arounds unnecessary. I also pointed out that some classes won't feel the pain of this issue because their classes / specs are more universally usable while others aren't. As for Ratajack, I suggest you read more attentively and you won't miss the point so easily.
  7. Dual spec would alleviate the problem but imo not solve it, at least for tanks. Since most Ops require only 1/8 tanks but denova and FPs need 1/4 tanks, tanks respec a lot between tank and dps. So I would actually need triple spec: PVE DPS, PVE tank and PVP tank. So far nobody has explained to me why BW has in interest in reducing the number of times people respec. Why have a mechanic that boxes you into a spec instead of enabling you to explore what the game has to offer?
  8. I think the mechanic surrounding respec is not helpful to fun and fluid gameplay and should be changed. Situation today: Currently the timer restarts every time you respec and lasts 1 week from the moment you click (i.e. it doesnt reset with weekly reset). So if you respec once a week it will never reset. Also, the cost of respec grows exponentially until it maxes out (I think around 125k) and you arent allowed to respec at all for a week. The problem: Most classes have very different specs for PVP and PVE. Assuming you play at least 1 ops per week but you also like to PVP you can either be inefficient in PVP or in PVE. Because of the timer mechanic if you respec once or twice a week u will eventually hit the maximum (plus it gets really expensive). The problem is more evident for some classes. As a PT tank it is impossible to tank anything serious in PVP spec, my Sorc DPS doesnt care much... So in addition to being unfair for some classes that rely on respec it means people cannot enjoy pvp and pve as they should. It also places an undue burden of micromanaging since you have to remember the last time you respecced. The solution: I can see no real reason other than withdrawing money from the game economy why respeccing should have any cost at all. I think people should experiment with different specs. More importantly, in the absence of dual spec options people in certain classes get punished for being into the full gaming content offered, i.e. pve and pvp. I think respec should either have a flat, relatively low cost depending on level or the timer should reset together with the weekly reset.
