  1. KTD, FTW, MOB (repub) and Carebear Tickle Party (imp) are still playing on Warriors of the Shadow. We are going to transfer to a more populated server though after 1.3 hits.
  2. I actually agree with the OP. BioWare can always add new content without raising level cap. They just copy WoW blindly. Can they add new species without raising level cap? YES Can they add new gear and raids without raising level cap? YES Is any content in the game unavoidably connected to a level raise? NO The whole inflation of gear and the same grind all over again is what made me stop playing WoW. It was all the same thing again and again. I don't have 5-6 hours a day to play MMO. As soon as I am completely geared and feel competitive in PvP new level cap, or new tier of gear will come out, and I have to start all over again. The teenagers will gather all gear faster than me and start owning me in battle again. And when I just reach that best gear ... it starts all over again. Raising level is the cheapest way for companies to keep their player base busy in game. Whoever wants to experience the new content just can go and do it. And the others who achieved something wont feel like their time was wasted and they have to start all over again. Adding new content - YES Raising levels - NO That will make all happy. I don't think that someone will start complaining that he has no new levels to grind. As I pointed above all new content can be added without level cap raise. And BTW my healer/scoundrel toolbars are already full with abilities. Adding new abilities on top of those? I don't know where to put them.
  3. Can someone (may be BioWare dev) explain me, what is the point of this new feature in 1.3 if the server you are in has less than 30 population in the fleet during peak times? I'm sure that all those on Fatman and the two other decently populated servers will be happy about this feature in 1.3. But for all of us poor jars in all those empty servers this feature hardly addresses the most pressing issue - and it is low server population. Any suggestions why they do this? And the way BW sets priorities?
  4. First of all - that is the point of a game - people to like it. It is not a bad thing to wish that. Second, are you suggesting that when something is wrong with the game, we just shut up and not point to the problems? Do you think that will help to improve the game? PvErs have FPs, HM FPs and Ops PvPrs have WZ, no ranked WZ, and no Open World PvP You can see the comparison yourself. Force all the PvE folks to play only 4 flashpoints in Story Mode, remove Hardmodes and make Ops not available. Then you'll see an outcry. Why PvPers shouldn't complain?
  5. I bet there will be even more posts from this kind from the PvP community after this patch. And I'm not happy about my own statement. I wish the game lived up to its potential.
  6. I'm completely signing this. Theme park game is ok while you level. But for end-game, theme park drops the ball completely. Doing dailies, repeatable content, grinding gear!!! is completely against the philosophy of this game. At least according to what devs used to say. They didn't want us to grind, but have fun. Guess what. This is the end-game for me - complete grind. I have 2 Battlemasters myself and many other alts. I wished this game had 2-3 end-game planets, with no exhaustion zones. Few not-protected starports. Areas to place buildings, housing, bases, labs ... or whatever. Something that gives us the feeling that it is worth defending and fighting for. I want to GEAR UP to PvP, and not PvP in order to GEAR UP (and fight in small WZ areas with 8v8). Open World PvP seems even more distant now. And I'm starting to think that I should cancel my 3 accounts, and move on to GW2 or something with better PvP in it. I was waiting for this game for 3 years. I didn't want to be disappointed. But I can't fool myself anymore.
  7. I would like to see a dev post here and explain what was the logic behind that decision. The math is simple - you invested time in farming something which is being immediately inflated. On the argument - no one forced you to buy merc comms - yes, no one did. But everyone knows that after reaching the cap of 1000 wz comms, you don't get more. So the only way to make use of those was to store them in merc comms, so you can get more wz comms. And like a bad banker, BioWare comes and tells you - you know what your savings are not 1/3 worth. Thank you for playing! I find that not fair and unnecessary punishment of players, for playing the game as it was designed before. And for playing fair, you get unfair treatment. It's simple. Devs please explain that.
  8. Yeah, why BioWare? This is clearly a robbery. I have 890 merc commendations on one of my characters, which I bought with 2670 WZ commendations. Now I'll get only 890 WZ commas back. Why BioWare? What prompted that? Did some working group sat together and start wondering: "How can we screw our paying customers?" Because I don't see any other logical reasoning for doing that. Someone there must have known that this will make people being cheated. Again: Why?
  9. I think I have a legitimate question (and I'm not trolling): Where is the open world PvP? I don't see it on Ilum (which is basically a forced grind). And warzones are definitely not open world PvP. In order to be constructive - I have a real proposal for better incentivized PvP: Territory Control - New planet with areas to controll. Guilds can build buildings and defend them in certain time brackets. The longer a guild hold an area the better fortified it is, and so on. I think this will be more fun, than just gring valor.
  10. I thought there was NO GRIND in this game, then why are we PVPing for GEAR, and not just GEAR up for PVP?
  11. I don't understand the whole problem with complaints about PvP gear. Having PvP gear with much higher stats its not a progression (because this is not PvE). The only consequence will be that you will cream new lvl 50-ies, no matter how much time they spent in warzones before hitting max level. Not to talk about the whole scaling process later (look WoW for that). Better stats are not needed to be better in PvP (unless you want to cream newcomers). Rewards for good PvPers - vehicles, orange gear sets (on which you can put crafted PvP mods), titles, pets, special color crystals, ranking .... Aren't those enough to recognize how good someone is in PvP? Wishing for gear with higher stats can not have other reason, but to humiliate those who doesn't have that gear. That principle can be even applied to PvE. Players can unlock content consequentially, receiving titles, pets, crystals, new gear (orange schematics with no stats). Isn't that a reward enough?
  12. ORANGE GEAR is the perfect solution at hand. Why new gear sets have to be with higher stats? - In that way you make old gear useless. - Players start wearing one gear set (the best one) at some point. - The diversity is lost, and players with little time to play are frustrated with the constant race for gear. Why not just introduce new orange gear? - People get new shiny stuff - Stats can be transfered from old gear to the new (crafters get useful) - People still strive for new sets, and if you don't like the look of the new.
  13. Meanwhile UNTRACK - TRACK the PvP daily after entering the warzone helps.
  14. You should know that I'm immune to trolls. But if you really think that that's how end game in MMOs should be like, then you must have been playing all the boring ones.
  15. Before launch there was little information about the end game. I thought there is a reason for it. There will be some cool story context. Factions will engage in fights to control territories, resources, interesting story objectives (capture some ambassador) and so on. It turns out there was the reason for the whole silence about end game. It is all the same grind fest from WoW (which I was trying to run from). Everything in end game PvP revolves around getting the best gear f or PvP. And that's it. Nothing more. We don't assault other planets (Voss, Corellia, Belsavis and more). It's dailies in Ilum and nothing else (don't tell me there are warzones - I know, they are boring already, because they are part of the gear grind too). I would like to see some dev coming here and tell us - is that it? And no - new warzone is not an answer (at least for me). With all the talking about story, choices matter, no grind!!!, engaging combat and so on. Is it because you knew end game is pure grind, rerolling different class is good end game solution? Please answer! Many will like to know what is going on! Thank you! P.S. The class stories lvl 1 to 49 was fun. I'm not complaining about something that is well made. Good job there. Now show us something for 50.
  16. LOL Now it is your turn BioWare. Like the idea?
  17. Yes to territory control Yes to base defense Yes to real Open World PvP - everywhere No to grinding valor for gear (all gear should be crafted) No to rewards for PvP - PvP is it's own reward No to limited PvP Scrap Ilum, do something like the OP suggests Aaaand - take a stance, show us that you care about our complaints. Tell us what are you going to do. Do not add new content, before you fix the one you have now. New warzone is not the answer. Thank you!
  18. The biggest flaw in the PvP system is: GEAR FOR VALOR Players aren't going to Ilum because they care about those 5 points there. Their primary objective is acquiring the best PvP gear. That makes the gear the objective in this "objective oriented open world PvP". Let the crafters craft the gear (so they can be useful in end game). Most of the players hate to gring in PvP for gear. Gear should not be the objective. It is a corruption of the whole idea, but created by the devs themselves. Territory control, base defense - those are much better goals for PvP ... and not just gear. BioWare!!! Don't respond with a new warzone. Respond to our concerns about the lack of real open world PvP. Thank you!
  19. Alchemy and astrology are not science. Just sayin' ...
  20. There is a simple explanation. It should be objective oriented PvP. The objective should be controlling Ilum (because Sith/Jedi need the crystals there). This is what the devs hoped to be. But there is a big flaw in the whole system that Gabe's team overlooked. It is revealed in the next line: REACH 50 > GO TO ILUM/WZ > GRIND VALOR > BUY GEAR The real objective for going to Ilum is to ultimatively get the PvP gear. Meanwhile crafters sit around feeling useless. How to fix that grind with a simple step? REACH 50 > BUY PVP GEAR FROM CRAFTERS > GO OUT TO PVP FOR FUN This is how I see the whole Ilum problem.
  21. May be a more worthy objective in PvP (for future content) is territory control. BW can add a planet with many small zones which can be conquered by guilds and this can make perfect competition between factions. Imp and Reps can help each other to defend their territory when it is attackable. I think this will be more fun, than just barren valor grind.
  22. It is not Ilum per se, but the ultimate goal of this kind of PvP, that BioWare created - obtaining gear through PvP. People are not going to Ilum because they care who controls it, but because they want the gear. This makes - obtaining gear - the real objective in the PvP, not some story driven reasons, why to control Ilum. It is barely hidden grind. BW should give PvP gear or mods to the crafters.
  23. TL;DR version: Problem - The real objective of Ilum PvP is grinding valor for the gear. Solution - Give craftable PvP gear or mods to the crafters. We shouldn't be PvPing for gear, but for fun and competition.
  24. Ilum should be about objective oriented PvP, right? But I don't think that the real objective on Ilum is holding those five points. The real objective is frankly to get that PvP gear. I know that this is not what the devs intended with Ilum (we hear those words from them lately). But I'm pretty sure that 99% of the people go to Ilum because of the valor which ultimatively leads to that coveted Battlemaster title and gear. Which makes the PvP in Ilum another grind. I'm not whining about that. I'm just trying to bring another angle into the discussion. The solution - Give the crafters PvP mods for the orange gear. People who still want to get the PvP gear with valor can still get it as it is now. But add the crafters to the equasion. Let those outnumbered players have alternatives to get that gear. Because ultimatively the best PvP is not about valor points, rewards, titles and gear, but about the pure satisfaction of competing with other players and be able to beat them. How could the PvP mods look like: Armoring, barrels and hilts - stats and the level/rating (pls same rating as on the vendor) Mods - besides bringing stats, those can assign the set bonus to the orange item. Enhancements - stats and the expertise. My two cents.
