  2. While not unique to commandos we do get stealth scan, but we also get field aid which should in my eyes be usable while stunned and against force cc on self only while stunned. I always think of the trooper in the promo video that continued to bear down on the sith even while being force lightninged and thought we'd have some awesome cc resistance... *bubble bursting*. If nothing else I think the 31 point skill in assualt and gunnery should provide an interrupt along with the damage, I know that is deep in the tree, but that would be a significant skill to be coupled in the regular rotation. I also think if that mortar volley is going to keep the radius it does have, it should only knock down and not back and knock down players as well. Inquiring minds want to know Bioware - what gives us our unique advantage? I missed that blerb on my cancel interview, thanks for bringing it up OP.
  3. Okay then in WZ we should be able to 'one shot' all the force users from behind. Nope still can't do that. Lore doesn't work in this game. As I'm pretty sure you have caught on there... @Playing sub 50 arguement: OP I'm pretty sure was taking the 50 angle and applying it to end game where commandos are soft targets/easy kills. OP I like the angle you are taking with this and I'm curious how the dev team believes they can honestly answer this without being completely biases. Because I'd like a few of the Mara on my server to show them what is possible. footnote - if you see a mara getting low in health throw up a stealth scan before your next shot, it'll last through them trying to get away if timed properly and really piss them off
  4. My favorite time that has happened recently was the day of 1.2 and getting told that we must all like dieing and getting our rears handed to us because we didn't switch out for recruit gear. At the end of the match they were ranked lowest on almost everything and several us horribly geared players had upwards of 15 medals plus were near top of the bracket in the rest of it. Really it doesn't do any good to trash talk your teammates and just because they are in BM gear doesn't mean they know a WZ. I'm still pretty sure people don't realize that you don't have to stand on top of the computer in the new WZ, man that drives me nuts for people to block it from using it from well outside the building. I have to admit though it is rather annoying to see people still fighting on the wrong side of the bridge on voidstar while the attacking team is already through the next bulkhead, so something was said...
  5. I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but I think Mortar Volley and by default death from above, is now ripe for some sort of CC tagged on to the skill. It is more useful than before in that it spits out damage much faster, but being that we lack almost any other cc I think this skill could get modded again to provide an aoe cc effect. Here are a few ideas: AoE knockdown that is instant and lasts for ~3 secs after channel is complete. I know it gets a knockdown now, but it needs to have an effect in PVP and bosses that don't have movement impairing immunity. AoE debuff that causes 50% misses for 8 secs (think ringing in the ears like at the beginning of Saving Private Ryan or any other number of films/games that have included that visual) AoE Snare until next heal/cleanse/death 15secs (each hit targets take increases snare by 20% max3 hits 60% slowed) AoE interrupt in addition to one of the above Please feel free suggest more and discuss.
  6. I can appreciate the changes they made to how armor is acquired, but not including a way to utilize gained tokens in a more direct way is not very forward thinking of them. I don't craft armor or crystals and don't need money so all that stuff is useless to me. Remind me again what good trading them in before hand would have done for me? Oh, gear that is crappier than what you can buy for cash or at best marginally the same? Sounds like a great use for comms... I've already outfitted every one of my companions in cent pvp or better, fyi. As far as being lazy, I have to laugh at that statement. They gave us what ~48hrs heads up for the 1.2 update? Yep everyone is always online and never goes to work or on vacation or has some other emergency that bars them from getting on to trade their comms for crappier gear.
  7. While several people are saying that GR was nerfed harder 10% I wonder if they are also considering the stat changes to armor, specifically pvp stats.
  8. Have to echo Raytal on this one. They give the option for merc comms, but no way champ and cent comms, much less BM comms? Come on BW, please put in and exchange system for these comms that give WZ comms perhaps even ranked comms for the BM comms for those that have those.
  9. My impressions last night was that very little had changed. My rotation hasn't changed at all, because I wasn't a GR spammer to begin with. Yes I noticed that GR didn't hit as hard, but with the gv at 5 DR hits hard, really hard. If you are going against a good premade you are going to get owned, doesn't matter what class you are. I soloed qued last night and about 50% the time repub won. Which honestly is way better than before for my server... (sith worm). There was only 1 time that I didn't make my 3 medals and that was against 2 premades and on the flip side highest medals I got was 17 in civil war. Also like to note I am not BM and only rank 53 with mostly old champ gear and feel very little has changed overall. My survivablity still sucks and hope for some sort of buff to that end, but we aren't meant to solo or go 1v2+. Honestly I would be pretty happy with 1 or 2 more cleanse type skills to use for getting out of stunned, getting chain stunned even with the cc bar full and is getting old.
  10. Stat change on the eliminator armor from Champ to recruit - 48 armor, -18 aim, -24 end, +23 expertise, -6 accuracy, -8 power.
  11. I had never seen it in the notes until today either and think that is awesome that they added it. Will just have to see what kind of activation time it has since this is first some of us have seen it. Thanks BW for this buff!
  12. While I completely understand your sentiment and agree that we lack in the 'finishing' department. Soloing just isn't our game. Yes, from time to time I'll get that rare assassin notice, but as you stated good players know when to cut and run. We are a turret that deals heavy damage and I think the best point defender around. I think our best skill is concussion charge and isn't utilized enough by other commandos. If you know how to use it, timing and angles, you can have a lot of fun at the other groups expense. We are grouping class overall. I wouldn't turn down talented HiB or Explosive Round that slowed/snared/knocked down though.

  14. First off - I don't get great fps on Ilum and occasionally not on fleet. That said, I'm curious for those of you that are comparing single player environments like Skyrim how you think that is really comparable to the data transfer that goes on when rendering in a 10 v 10 Ilum battle? I do think there could be optimization in the engine - yes, but at the same time you have to compare apples to apples. Since I also haven't played BF3 I would say comparing to another MMO I have played would be Rift in large open pvp fights. My rig ran a little better, but not by much and rift also suffered from similar fps issues as I recall. Could part of it be just the flat out the nature of the pvp open environment?
  15. This wasn't an easy fight at all I recall. But, I did do the typical CC on the boss and burn the adds. The extra guys that jump in for me got sacrificed by LL quickly for a health boost. Also if you haven't already, turn off Elora's damaging abilities and only keep the healing ones and carbon stream and you can alternate your cryo with her carbon stream. Rather than dps during either of those abilities if you are low on health heal yourself. Use charged barrier liberally and time it with curtain of fire up so while he is running back in, hit full auto on him for the full effect. If you get low and he is lowish, CC him again and heal up fast and restart the fight. Also, you can use your cleanse on Elora if he mez's her which a lot of elites like to do at 50. If you haven't done it yet, upgrade your gun barrel to the daily one at least. Also the 2man+ herioc nets you 3 comms plus an enhancement that is most likely an upgrade.
  16. Nice post, thought is was going to be another complaint thread. If and when they put in combat logs people will stop complaining about the apparent spam and realize they are getting tagged by multiple skills that just happen to proc at nearly the same time. Then they'll just complain about numbers...

This is somewhat in game already, at least in regard to meeting people, datacron history's, world bosses etc... all in the codex, the real trouble is figuring out which you have or haven't done and where they may be located. I'll use Rift as an example because I'm of the minority that have never played wow. They do much of what the OP is asking for in titles which would greatly give more variation in that lacking department. They aren't as transparent as showing you how much postage you've used, but the achievements do show a lot and are specific per region(planet). In addition, it would be nice if through the legacy system you also could complete achievements that would cover your account or at least that world. So say I've explored all of Taris on one character, that map would show for every character and speeder hubs and quick travel would already be discovered.

Not really too difficult to test Cryo/DoT/knockdown, HiB yield base numbers Stack of 5 GR + 5 Charged Barrel buffs + HiB Yield full potential numbers Stack of 5 GR + yield base number plus increase from armor debuff (arguably difficult to do alone and not necessarily relevant. Choosing a specific strong or elite mob in a zone for reps would yield what the OP is stating he has experienced. Thanks for noticing and posting OP, I'll keep my eye on the numbers too.

I've RE'd lvl 47 Reflex barrel and skill barrel for the blue version, both within 10 total of the two types (I make them in sets of 10 and start REing when they are produced and switch recipes when I get the blue). I've RE'd lvl 47 reflex armor mod for the blue version. All three I did on Wed the 8th in the evening. I don't bother for the purples because for one I know the RE rate is horrid right now. And, It is sub 50 which I won't be using long enough to worry about to get the purple.
  20. So have you ever been in a group and a rare crafting mat drops and no one can use it, but if only you had taken one of your alts they could use it? While I can understand that it is to encourage many alts etc or interaction on the market, currently not many people have a variety of crew skills and are dropping them for the more lucrative or useful skills that may or may not utilize these rare mats. I'd like these rare mats to be switched to bind on account, that way if you have alts or mules, if that is the game you play, they can utilize the mats rather than vendoring stuff they can't use. This may make everyone roll need on them (if they don't already), but why not if everyone can use them on an alt. But, that is a subject for a vastly different thread.

I know this doesn't help now, but I believe either upcoming or possibly even now there are the rare schems in ops and hm fp that drop, but I'm unclear on the viability of selling them beyond gearing companions as the mats also come from those instances. So, dropping either may be a good short term solution, but then you may kick yourself later for not already having the skill up when it drops in an instance. As far as RE barrels I just got the blues from the level 47 reflex and skill last Wed night and have most of them below that, not going to bother with RE for purples till after the fix is in for REing and as far as I can tell it still isn't on live yet.

I would check here http://www.republictrooper.com/matrix-cubes-relic-items/ I can't comment on user crafted relics as there seem to be a lot of variation and I've just been stacking the end one for the level and not really paying attention to the clicky portion for leveling. Just know that two of the same relic share a cool-down, they may both share it, but I've never bothered having to different ones to verify.
  23. Typically it will be the end bosses in HM+ FP or Ops bosses as far as I've read on these db sites, they also drop the mats needed to make these mods. My question is it worth it compared to what is in the armor sets? I'm not 50 yet and haven't thoroughly examined the differences, but was hoping someone could comment on the viability to supplying these to the market or just for companions.
  24. I don't recall, but can she wear medium armor? If so you might try looking at some of the moddable medium armor for her as much of it is open-faced. I realize you'll lose some armor rating doing this for her, but the rest of the stats don't change. Besides she shouldn't be getting hit anyway
  25. Personally, I've liked the launch iteration of the cool-down the most out all of them. A simple graying out of the skill on cool-down much like if the target was out of range or a bad target. The previous to this patch iteration of the GCD worked fine as well for me. I'm not sure a timer of sorts would be appropriate as an overlay for the skill on cool-down. I think it would be very annoying, cluttered, and for some may be unreadable. A quick mouse-over gives you the skill pop-up with time left on cool-down. Another option is to create a cool-down bar that is similar to the cast bar that players can load with skills they feel are necessary that would have a variety of displays such as cool-down time left. This bar can be toggled on and off in the UI tab and you just have to pull a skill into one of the slots and it throws a display up beside it with the cool-down, much like an ops pane with portraits and health.
