  1. Sigh, the dreaded engine discussion. The single greatest failure of swtor. One of the worst graphics engines in modern mmo's. What does FF14 do so much better than this game? Nothing really, except the engine isn't a complete disaster. The world "feels" lifeless because the engine has terrible textures, pop in and over all its a world that feels created, not lived in. It doesn't have that touch of character that games like wow, ff14 and gw2 have. I lay blame squarely on the engine. Also, bio ware can't implement systems like dynamic events, large scale open world pvp because of its limitations. It's such a shame too, and a puzzling choice of engines to say the least.
  2. Even if you don't "like" the pvp aspect of GSF, it lays a solid foundation for expansion into space later. If it's successful , they could bring out an open world pvp/pve zone with space quests and gathering that isn't limited by the ground game engine. It's a good start I think to something bigger and better.
  3. Negativity on these forums is new, fresh, and exciting : /
  4. Agree, I think it's insanely fun. And who knows, if people like it, it lays the ground work for open space pve/pvp zones without the constraint of the ground game engine. I think it's a HUGE step in the right direction! and gives the game something to differentiate itself from a very overcrowded genre. GG bioware.
  5. 0/10 troll... GG though. I'm sure the attempt made your night.
  6. Best tank healers in the game, but I agree shell should go back to no heat cost.
  7. The only thing I want, is a disengage!!! When I first started beta testing ToR, I just knew Mercs would have a disengage. It makes since lore wise, it would be cool looking, and it would be extremely useful in pvp. Pve wise, I'm fine with Merc. I like being a niche tank healer, and good heat management just takes time to perfect, but disengage is just a no-brainer. That and maybe some additional tools added on for anti stealth. But plese give us a disengage.
  8. I agree with you about the animation. I guess we were alone in liking it though. As far as tracer goes, it's not the spam tracer heat seeker play style anymore. You only use tracer to get the debuff up, and to get an unload proc if you need it. It's not the tracer spam play style anymore. I've noticed that rocket punches damage has gone up too. Rocket punch is now one of my biggest hitters. I haven't been back long, but I've pretty much figured out that tracer isn't spammed anymore. Still getting my rotation down though. The damage is good though. And bodyguard is still fantastic.
  9. This. ^^^ Mercs are in a really good place right now , and the funny things is we are underplayed. Take your bodyguard healer into an 8 man and show em how it's done. The stigma is wrong, and don't let anyone tell you any different. Merc healing is awesome . Once you get the hang of your rotation, and when to supercharge , the lass really comes into it's own. And on top of it, dps is really good right now too. And you don't see a thousand of us like ops, and sorcs
  10. First off, bioware made the game. Bioware made the decision to use the hero engine, bioware was the one that spent to much time on voice overs, and not enough time on the basics of a modern mmo. I know it's cool for the kids on the Internet to bash EA, but you wouldn't be enjoying the game without EA. but the game continues to improve, like most mmos do.
  11. Wow, tons of complaints about a class with ZERO facts or even mechanic experience to back it up. You don't even know why "merc sux" beyond getting owned in a low level WZ. You're bad...sounds like a l2p issue. Your opinions are literally worthless.
  12. You have a level 30? Are you serious man? Why are you here...it appears you love complaining. Go to a class forum where you actually have some experience at the class at max level and cry over there. I swear complaining is literally a meta game to some of you people. It's so weird. 2.0 was just released, and people are just getting into the flow. Are you angry because you can't turret TM spam at sub 50 WZ's?. I don't get how you can have issues with a class you haven't even played at 50.
  13. What about the talent to leave the pods behind after a missile? Has anybody tried this talent yet? I wasn't sure about it given the fact that when I usually used missle, it was in an aoe situation when people are having to move around. I haven't had a chance to play and test the range on the pods. Have to go out of town and won't get to play until Monday. Was wondering if it was worth the talent point.
  14. First off, love the game...playing since launch, but I have a suggestion for story content. I think in future content, the devs should consider cutting down the amount of cutscenes, and leaving them for class story, and planet arc only. It takes away from the special feeling you get when encountering a vo, if every collect 5 womp rat tails quest have vo. I I would also think it speeds up story development time, and in turn gives us more of what most tor fans want, story content. It's the strength of the game, and I think it keeps that special feeling when you find one. You can put a special icon for VO quests as well . Also, a friend of mine that quit the game said one of his biggest gripes with the game was that the huge amount of vo actually made him feel disconnected from the game world because he was constantly warped into a cutscene for every single quest he encountered, and I have to agree with him. It's over kill. Sometimes quest text isn't always a bad thing. Just a suggestion...but one I think will vastly improve the game.
  15. The crafting system Bioware implemented in this game SCREAMS for an app. I think its something that Bioware really needs to consider. Make it 2 or 3 dollars extra a month....thats like logging in to the game anyway, I would pay for it. Heck, I wish they could figure a way to implement the space game in a mobile game. Mobile is the future, Bioware needs to jump on that train. Their game really sets up perfectly for it.
  16. Could you just go play wow then bro.....I dont understand why people hang around just to complain. This community is become so awful because of people like you. We get it, you dont like the game. Go away already.
  17. Upgrade your comp, or turn your settings down. Esp any setting that is heavy on CPU. Your ram is low, and depending on what you have running in the background while you play, that can have a huge effect on mmo's especially. I run into to ppl at work and their computers are an absolute joke of a mess. How many weather widgets can one person have on their desktop? But I digress, its an upgrade/settings problem. I'd rename that computer ground hog instead of beast.
  18. I guess ppl don't have a lot of experience with lfg, but if your dps....it might take a long time to get a geo. It's like that in every game with an lfg. 75% of the players on any server are dps. To the contrary, I'm a healer...and can literally get 5 to 6 hardmode runs a night....and the ques are instant. It isn't a bug....your just competing for spots with most of the server.
  19. He's talking about pvp, the complaints are always about pvp. As far as merc pvp goes....the damage has been nerfed, heatseeker especially. Since bioware see's merc as a hybrid ac with a healing tree, they need to give mercs a way to self heal on proc, ala shaman, or druid in wow. You are a turret as arsenal...but mercs can still be very effective as long as you play a little more defensive. Pick and choose your spots to do damage and hide in the back, but why switch AC'S, so what if you have to work a little harder. That's the fun to me, I don't want to tracer spam faceroll. As far as pve damage, merc is fine. Just get your expertise up.
  20. I dont want to be "that" guy....but I dont think there is a developer in the world that can give some of you people "enough" to do. Honestly, you need to accept you're in the 2%....and find something else to do until new content.
  21. Coming from a 15 yr mmo vet, I love Swtor too buddy. I've never been compelled to play an mmo as much as I have tor in the first 6 months. I just play the content they have out now, and relish in what's to come.
  22. This is nothing but chicken littles running around screaming "the sky is falling". Know this, with an IP as strong as star wars, and a company with the reputation like bioware...Swtor will never get low enough in subs to come close to looking at f2p. There was a mention of lotro in this post, well I played lotro from beta to the point of f2p off and on, that game had probably reached below 100k subs. There were a couple of reasons for this but mainly it was wow at its popularity peak...if you played mmos at that point, it was wow. Swtor will never hit that low of a number. F2p is being pushed around a lot right now bc the media has latched onto this gw2 thing being the next BIG thing in mmo's...well I played it....and it won't be. Hell star wars galaxies never went the way of f2p...because it never got as low on subs as lotro. Why, because star wars us a stronger IP than lotr. And f2p destroyed lotro in one important area, community. Did it bring more ppl? Yes. Was it good for the community...no. when the entry point for your game is just dl'ing the game and creating an account, it brings in a ton of undesireables. I wouldn't worry about anything but finding a hard mode run, bc bioware is aware they opened to many servers...but they had to...bc if they didn't this mostly joke of a community theyre cursed with would have burned them at the stake for the Que times. Sorry but posts like this are pretty idiotic at this point. What are you ppl so afraid of? Why do mmo gamers HAVE to feel like everyone plays the same game they do? Wow was lightning in a bottle, it was a game genre coming into the mainstream, well that day is over...cats out of the bag. Wows community will splinter and go to different games. Just play what you want and don't sweat it.
  23. No offense but I don't look back on running around for 3 hours looking for my corpse, or taking a 5 min break in between fights to refresh health to fondly. I think if bioware keeps the occasional "hey this wave of mobs is attacking voss" events in the game will be plenty of "dynamic" gaming for me.
  24. I'm getting exhausted by all the "dynamic world" BS I see all the time now. While I respect that you want to play in a "living dynamic " world...my wife and boss are dynamic enough. Games like gw2 and rift just don't appeal to me. I'm glad TOR and wow are theme park games, and I enjoy world events....but having a turd storm fall in my lap while I'm trying to level or turn stuff in is not my idea of a good time. Rift did that. I got to the point of kicking puppies when invasions would happen, and I just want to level. It's all good in theory, but my life is dynamic enough, I think sometimes ppl want more out of a game than it should provide. Not saying your wrong for wanting it. Just not my thing.
