There have been plenty of posts directed at Bioware describing the state of affairs of the SWTOR community. Some of which have been generally constructive and others fell a bit short. I am posting with the intent to briefly capture the missing elements that have led most subscribers to stray away from this game. They are as follows:
1- Server populations.
At first glance this seems to be an easy fix - Merge the servers. I agree that this is the best solution to the problem; however, my fear is that BW will approach this incorrectly. As a warning, I suggest that BW ought to perform forced transfers instead of the traditional volunteer approach. This strategy will ensure proper character/guild disbursement and server leveling. One way to successfully complete this task will be to number the servers according to their current population and pair the servers as follows: PvP Server 1 merges with PvP Server 16 (or whichever server is least populated) PVP Server 2 merges with PVP Server 15 and so on and so forth.... One objection, I suppose, will be those who are attached to their names and legacy names. I propose that this should be countered by giving those with higher legacy levels priority over those with lower legacy levels. I maintain that this seniority method is the most just. (Moreover, on a personal note, I would be willing to give up my names to someone who was more senior than myself.)
2- Eight man PvP queues
This is a big one. Many subscribers, to include myself, are quite disappointed that this was not a feature included from release and are becoming increasingly more agitated that it has not been addressed and added to the game. My guild, Inglourious Blasters - Davik's Estate, consists of 125 members and of those 50 are level 50. Our guild is a PvP guild. To be clear, all we do is PvP. Since 1.2 and the release of Diablo 3, we have lost 35+ members who unsubscribed from this game. They cited "We will return to SWTOR when group PvP comes". On average, my guild now has about 10 players online during prime hours and we represent, on average, 30% of the Imperial Fleet population and 60% of the players queuing for warzones. Additionally we spend 10-20 minutes waiting for a warzone queue to "pop". This is unacceptable and I cannot defend BW to the other 35 members of the guild when they decide to unsubscribe. Add 8 man group queuing to the game - problem solved!
In the interest of brevity, I will not go on any further because I believe that if these two problems are solved most will return to the game, profits will go up, and lastly BW can focus on more important interests for the betterment of SWTOR and its community. Finally, I would like to add that alot of us are rooting for you BW. We want this game to succeed into the MMO we all know it can be. Personally, I do not want to go back to World of Warcraft. Please do not "force" me to. Thanks for you time.
