  1. So are we happy that BioWare listened and is going to fix most if not all these issues in patch 1.2? Are we all going to be able to play and not have all the QQ? I sincerely hope this patch will address the majority of the issues Pubs have been having cause WZ would be more fun with less HuttBall.
  2. Best thing I've read in this thread so far.
  3. A bit harsh near the end but it the above quote covers this rather adequately. With out Expertise then everyone would have to RAID for the Best In Slot. If they took away RAID gear then Raiders would quit because they would have no carrot to chase at the end of that stick. When will people from both factions just stop with the QQ, and Nerf Cries, and simply learn to play these classes.
  4. Love the League idea. I even like several of the ideas that the OP has. However HuttBall is PvP and should remain there. The only reason why it ques so often is because Republic is not the current fan fave and w/o HuttBall we would be in que for ridiculous amounts of time waiting for something to pop. Lastly, and this is directed to the OP, what the heck exactly do you think PvP is if not Team Play and Teamwork. I've seen countless groups of well geared players get totally Frag'ed simply because the team they faced actually worked together to achieve the objectives of the War Zone. You could have the most DPS or Heals in a Match but in the end if your team failed it's objective then you failed as well. One person doesn't win a War Zone.
  5. About Grav Round... I don't know about any "Bonk" sound.. I just know I see you cast it... I get hit... damage ticks. I can't Fraps it cause I don't have the program to do it. I can say that I've seen others that frap and the ability seems to dmg while animating not at the end. We agree to disagree. I used to play an Arsenal Spec'ed BH, but dumped it cause I hated how static it felt to me. Tracer is the bread and butter of that build because in order to hit with any real punch you need 5 Heat (ups damage of Heat Seeker) and or 4 Tracer Locks (ups damage of Rail Shot). This was over three weeks ago since I switched to my current build but while I was Arsenal Spec I had to stay for the full cast time to get the damage from Tracer. If I moved before the channel was done it stopped and I would have to recast. MV vs DFA we have to agree to disagree. My Missiles do not normally tick damage until I'm airborn. as I've stated before I've noticed a glitch (recently) that kept me grounded while the Salvos fired, but even then there was a brief pause before the first Salvo.
  6. Having been the victim of many a Grav Round and even several well placed Mortar Volleys I can say you are wrong here. I have taken damage from Commando's during the Grav Round animation. From the start to the end. I've even caught Commando's doing exactly what he suggest about moving on to the next ability before it finishes and I still got hit. Maybe my experience is the rarity; I'll start watching this more closely now since but your experience is not consistent with mine. I don't know what Miss-information there is about DFA. There is a pause between my activating the button and salvo's firing down range. That is the whole reason why I never fire of DFA unless the Pubs are being silly and clustering or I've stopped them with a Freeze Grenade, or my favorite when I run with a PowerTech and he AoE Carbon Freezes them then we each DFA the grp before they break CC. Now what I have noticed lately is that instead of being pushed up into the air like I should be so all can see and target me (if you're smart) my toon has been staying on the ground. I don't have a FRAPS program and I've never used one but would be nice if someone could catch this on vid and report it. I've sent in bug reports because it makes it harder for people to target me yet I get the full DFA Salvo off. There is still a pause before my first Salvo goes down range but instead of going air-born I stay on the ground.
  7. I use the Belkin N52te. It takes awhile to get used to but once you do it's amazing. Ruffly 20 buttons all where you can reach them and if you have ever used a Adding Machine you'll take to is easily. Been using mine for 2 yrs and the thumb stick is finally starting to wear out. I'll be replacing it soon since I've been losing fights while my BH just spins from time to time cause of the thumb stick going bad. Combine that with a multi-button gaming mouse and you will never need your keyboard (unless you need to rp. =P).
  8. Apparently BioWare has commented finally on some of these issues. On Monday's Issue of GameBreakerTV.com they discussed it and had some quotes for Goeger (spelling?) that he gave at an interview for some other fan site. Sorry but the Game Breaker site won't display for me at the moment and I don't remember the source they sighted in the PodCast.
  9. Check out the GameBreakerTV show specifically the section where Taugrim talks about ability delays and how they seem to work in SW:ToR. The way this game works its not necessary for you to actually wait for your channel to complete before all it's damage is assessed. If you pay attention to your class (Empire and Republic) you'll notice that most classes with channel abilities have this same possible glitch. I'm not a programmer so I don't know if this is ment to work this way due to the no auto attack function or not. I just know that I don't have to sit through all of my Channeled abilities on any of my classes for all of the damage ticks to count. http://www.gamebreaker.tv/brazilian-wookiee-star-wars-the-old-republic-show/ The section of this vid where they address this issue is around 43 minutes into it. Taugrim himself has a very good site at: http://taugrim.com/ I follow it quite a bit and find his input very useful in helping me become a better player in both PvP and PvE. He even has some post where he talks about these very same issues. I hope BioWare is reading. They really do need to look into this stuff.
  10. You are fail at PR. Leave all your personal stuff out of your post and just stick to Facts. Learn from this poster: http://taugrim.com/2011/12/14/population-skewing-heavily-towards-empire-on-pvp-servers/ He presents many of not all of the same arguments you do in a professional, reasonable, manner with nice justifications for his beliefs. Hopefully several of these issues were fixed with Patch 1.01B, and hopefully more get addressed. Those that can present rational proof with out insulting others for having a different opinion should continue posting so that BioWare knows they have to stay on top of this. As for the OP; stick with the facts. Stop assuming things about your audience. You created this thread for the doubters like me. If all you want to do is list BW's failures and list complaints fine. Don't expect me to listen. I just want to know the facts about these issues and what BW is planing on doing to fix them. I'm still annoyed that not one Dev has posted on this thread...
  11. Ok... this should make most of you folks happy. It looks like BioWare is finally responding to this thread, just not in the thread. I don't know why. Watch this link. Yes it's long but you only really need to watch from 43.30 if you only want to know their feelings on the many issues you are bringing up. Gary the shows moderator even list the site that George whatever his name is (BioWare Rep) commented on. http://www.gamebreaker.tv/brazilian-wookiee-star-wars-the-old-republic-show/ Personally I fully agree with Taugrim's views on this issue, and it he sums up my opinion rather well. I think watching this episode of GameBreakerTV and following up with the site referenced by the GameBreakerTV will help give some prospective on this.
  12. I don't have to prove a thing. I currently don't believe that there is substance to your hypothesis but I have no interest in disproving it either. The burden is with you and those that believe as you to convince me. Not the other way around. I'll ignore the fact that none of us have data to support any claim as to why people are not rolling Republic. In the case of me I can honestly say that it's because I like the Bounty Hunter. I wish it was a neutral faction so I could work both sides but it's not so I'm stuck on Empire side. As for most of my guild it was a simple belief that they shared that Force Lightening simply looked better than throwing Pebbles. I'm sure the fact that you gain Dark Side points as a Jedi simply for looking at a romantic interest didn't help either. There are any number of reasons why people in general are not rolling Republic but to simply jump to any one conclusion is short sighted. Do we even have any polls that could actually give a true indication? I'll simply remind you of a vary fitting adage that surmises this mistake of yours quite soundly: "When you assume something you simply make an ***** out of U and Me." In case you don't get it I do play several classes on both sides. No I do not have a level 50 Republic toon yet, but that is mostly because I'm waiting to find out what server my guild plans to level our Republic Alts on. Also while I love Bounty Hunters and dislike "GlowSticks" it's StarWars and who wouldn't want to at least toy with a Force User for a little bit. Until a Dev comes out and says so this is still conjecture. Most likely correct but unknown. Only the Developers / Official game testers know this for sure. Note I did say that you are most likely correct. It still stands that a Dev coming on here and specifically stating that Project = Shock and explaining how they are mirrored would be nice. Better yet maybe the Dev could clarify why the apparent differences between them if they are supposed to be mirrors. I'm not denying anything. I'm only stating that showing a vid of a low level Sorc casting shock and comparing it to a higher level Consular casting project does not help your case. It causes confusion. On the vid I saw the Consular do more damage than the Sorc. I was not able to see that there was a level difference and did not know as such until someone mentioned it. If you want to prove your point you need to compare apples to apples so to speak. Both toons have to be in same / comparable gear and level for the test to accurately show what if any differences exist. I brought up the whole AION debacle because in AION the Asmodians were able to clearly show with combat logs, and the kind of graphs that only Min-Maxing number crunchers seem to be able to make to show how X ability for an Asmo did significantly less damage than X ability for Elyos. So far the above mentioned vid is the best I've seen, and not a true smoking gun. Another example is that in the current up to date Civil War War Zones I've played I've not seen the extra 10pts of damage the Imperial Turrets are supposed to do. Maybe they've fixed it, Maybe I just didn't notice it, Maybe it just hasn't happened in the instances I've been in. Several of you have voiced some good concerns, its just the manner to prove these concerns to the average person has not been done yet. Comments like these are not only non constructive, but they are just completely counter productive to your case. You want me to believe that you are a reasonable person and not some crackpot conspiracy theorist then don't insult me for asking you to provide actual proof. This comment places you in the category of being either very frustrated, an *****, or simply a frustrated *****. No matter which you are you lose my interest and the interest of others that don't quite see things your way. Please calm yourself and refrain from it. Hell the no Space Combat Rail people have had far better composure and their plight is far longer than yours.
  13. As I have stated before. I've PvPed a lot in this game. Currently Rank 52. Maybe I've just not been able to fight many Pubs since until recently most of my WZs have revolved around Hutt Ball and fighting other Imps, but in the few battles I've participated in versus Republic players I've not observed any truly significant disadvantage. I've been beaten by Pubs that played their characters better than I played mine. I've beaten Pubs that played worse than me. I've not observed a single class that I seem capable of routinely defeating in combat despite any of the above mentioned issues. Because of this fact I have a hard time believing that the core issue here is animation or a conspiracy by BW Devs. If or when I notice that I can consistently defeat players of a certain class despite their obvious superiority in either skill or equipment then I will be more apt to believe these claims. Until such time I simply believe that many of you are having the same issues that many Imp players have / continue to have with adjusting to not being able to Macro "I Win" buttons, not having an Auto-Attack, and not being able to adjust to the fact that while the classes here fit the same function as classes from previous games they are not exact duplicates of those other games classes. In AION there was an obvious bias towards the Elyos. This was obvious because players were able to post combat log data showing that equally geared, level, class toons would have significant differences in damage dealt, and received. The Elyos had access to several additional World Bosses that the Asmodians did not. Experience, Coin, Reputation, gained from quest were significantly greater for Elyos vs the Asmodians. Finally the Loot tables themselves were slanted to allow for Elyos Players to have a significant advantage in Loot drops from World Bosses; heck there were even several quest that rewarded Elyos with Blues and Asmodians with Greens if not Vendor trash. Non of the above issues seems to be happening here. I've not seen any tables or charts or anything else that can clearly show where the Imperials are being given such a significant advantage versus the Republic Characters. I do however see some very well thought out points. I may not agree with the final assumption but I do see where there should be some concern. BioWare Devs should be giving us some feedback on this issue and if the assumptions / allegations being made here prove to be true then steps must be taken to correct them as soon as possible. Since videos submitted rarely seem to be direct comparisons of equal leveled and geared toons, and since none of us can produce Combat Logs to prove concisely when and how much damage is being applied all we can do is guess. I do not want this game being run on guessing. Again... as I continue to PvP in WarZones that include Republic Players, as I continue to fight on Ilum (when that actually happens) I will watch to see if the foe I defeated was beaten by my use of skill, gear, positioning, dumb luck, superior numbers, or an unfair advantage given by cheap game mechanics. I don't wish to discourage any of you from posting. I hope that someone will find a true smoking gun that can prove with out a doubt that something is wrong. Failing that I will continue to believe that the Devs paid to create this game have the knowledge and ethics to not purposefully **** this game up.
  14. About your Signature... is that actually what Padami (spelling?) says during a vote on the Republic senate floor in episode 3? Just say'en why you take credit for someone else's (even fictional) quote?
  15. Hopefully these issues get addressed in some way. Not saying I fully agree with all the points being raised but as an Empire Player I look forward to a challenging and populated Republic side. After all w/o you guys the Empire wouldn't need me. I didn't buy this just to play a Single Player RPG.
