  1. The number one guild? I guess that kinda summed it up when your first done your usually first to leave. IMHO if you are first in every catagory all that says to me is that they wanted to finish and hope that Bioware,EA, and LA would keep pace with them. Alot of people (includingmyself have not leveled a character to max not done hardly any of the flashpoints, Why because I want experience what the developers, programmers and all of the other people who put so much time. that is among one of the reasons. the rest are not discussed on this thread.
  2. It is a very sad state of affairs when there are not enough players in your zone to do heroics. Or just grouping up to take on the hard missions. as it stands now you have to get yourself 2 to 3 levels above norm just to do the things you might have grouped for.. This is not any good for the game itself. the drops you cannot get. so upgrades are hard and expensive to come by. plus if you wait til alot later to do them what is the use??!!
  3. Yes I have noticed a severe drop in the survivability rate of the commando. ION cell is a must. taking jorgan is almost a joke now. I am having a beast of a time with Justice I am level 35 and getting my head handed handed to me by the bot of all things!! what gives??
  4. If the population is growing how then there are fewer than 7 people on the alot of the planets the low and med levels? Flash points are dam near impossible to do because there are 20 peps at the space station. Don't get me wrong having a level 50 go through and pretty much mow over evrything is just not that fun!! Finding groups to do heroics is almost the same. All I have seen is a steady decrease in the last few weeks I hope this is not going to be short lived game.

  7. not really. How the squad was fitted would determine their survival rate. are we talking current codex or early editions?? just kiddin. Hell just sent in the Orcs first if there are any jedi left send in the Imperial guard they can mop up!! Could you imagine a trooper dressed in Power armor with power fist and a storm bolter or thunder hammer ?? kinda a scary thought....
  8. First who's world? Warhammer or Star Wars? The terminator marines are made for fighting those types of characters with power shields vibroblades, power fists, thunderhammers and assorted other things. a jedi would have a very long and tough fight on their hands. Against the captain or Librarian a jedi would have no chance. Against the basic ultrmarine would be kinda like going against the trooper. and would depend on the type!! One group of Marines would give the jedi and sith hell would be the Legion of the Damned.

  10. SWGEMU Alpha is slated for start in April. I still will play both just because the styles are extremely different.

  13. Okay lemme me ask you how you honestly make the statement you made. after your listing of the games you played? I see alot of games only played for 6months or less. MY list is not quite as extensive : AD&D 2 years EverQuest 4 years Eve 2 years SWG 8 years. WOW 1 year. SWG/NGE in alot of ways the testing grounds for alot of the play set up that is used in TOR. Look at from this point LA owns both propertys. You had your basic class then you were given a tree in which to use or select special abilities. Codex very similar to the collection list. Simplified, fluffed, and plenty of eye candy. I will agree with you about one thing SWG PRE NGE/CU and SWTOR or TOR are NOTHING alike. I personnally would love to see them bring more crafting and better space play.
  14. I too am a father of 2 been married for 30 years and work full time. that was one thing that I did enjoy about SWG I could log in do a few things and log out. But I was Primarly an artisan my combat toon was my second. I played pre/cu thru the end 8 years in all. Again the game choice boils down to which style of game play you choose.

  16. First lemme say you are right NO MMO is ever complete there is always content to be added. I think that there was more to the down fall to SWG like LA and say this project. SWG (NGE) shut down because there was an end. They didn't stay true to the story (the ability to become a jedi at will for one). You did run out of things to do. You could only be 1 type of character at a time there were no racial gifts for being a certain class. certain characters had no use. IMHO the most fun I had was in the end days taking on large random spawns of Imperial troopers or stampeeding monsters. Once you did everything and got all the the shiny's what was left? It happens. Allot of people have valid points for both sides. First world. A storyline driven Rpg has been the main stay for many years. Why not bring it to the online masses. that is what sells and alot of people enjoy it. People seem to be more content and satified when there is an end and a uniformity to things. AT time people like to have a limited number of choice of what to say and when to say it. the storline MMO allows the tieing of diffrent classes together. Second world. Open ended MMO (RPG) not being told what to do and how to do it has been around for a very long time. Back to the days of D&D. these games are still going why because they had no real end. I think alot of people enjoy this and still subscribe to that type of play. To most they would like a better balnce of the two worlds. But hey wouldn't that be a perfect world? (sideline note: SWG is not gone. several severs have launched. They are all PRE NGE and they seem to be doing well. the gamers have pitched in to correct the bugs and to create new content.) I play both because I like the change of pace.
  17. Until I started TOR I have always been intimidated by PVP. Coming from SWG. Yes the early entrys into the that world do have an advantage. But I have learned a thing or two by getting my *** kicked by other players. it shows me tactics that I would have never thought of or combo that work better for my style of play. To those players who do jump ship early should be penalized. taking Valor and barring that person from entry into the area for a certain period of time. It takes some pride to stand your ground even when you know your out gunned. when your done the combat ask what they were doing. everyone loves a tough fair fight.

  20. Would like to wait for 10 to 15 minutes to get exp? people would be like they were in the beginning of the game camping the bigger mobs and bosses for exp. A possible solution could be the higher level you become the longer it takes the mob to aggro. Kinda like the stleath mode. example time is flexible your 1 level higher than the mob it takes say 3 seconds before they aggro and so on. try running through the mobs yeah they may come after you for a bit but if you turn your companion on to follow you out run just about anything. when indoubt ,over matched, or just plain bored (RUN AWAY!!)
  21. Ithink the rapid respawn time is for the other players coming into the area. I have seen this way too many times where you have been fighting a mob only to have another toon jump through and start clearing out an area where you playing. Yeah it can be a trouble thing when your questing but remember would like to wait 30 to 40 minutes before the spawn you need comes back?? remember others are leveling too and need drops for cash plus exp.
  22. I want to throw this out there it seems like a trival thing but why are things like datacrons and matrix shards static?? The developers take alot of time developing landscapes and npcs that most people avoid unless they are part of a quest or something they really need for crafting. Why not move them around the planet?? make a challenge for everyone to find them by exploring the eviroment they are in. think about it most people go to the guides and get the locations and go and get the shards and datacrons from those locations and alot of times not even bothering to interact what is around them. good example I have seen people waiting until a large group goes through to clear out an area. just to get the object. I have been guilty of this practice myself. moving these items around make them appear in 4 or 5 different locations will promote exploration of the surroundings, grouping general conversation between players. not just rushing around just to be getting to the end game. we will get there eventually but just enjoy the time and the effort the devs. put into making the world around you awesome
  23. Every MMo has had their black sheep of crafting. What about the others? I synth weave is the only case, then RE isn't necissarlly broken. All I have been stating I don't think the current RE system is broken. I learned my ropes on one of the hardest crafting systems in all of the MMO's I have played. SWG was the biggest bear to craft items and this was in every crafting class. the higher you got the harder it became. the return for top end goods were scarce and when you found them they were very expensive. Finding the right and best resources took alot of time and luck. you had to spends hours scouring planets (9) and surveying for raw materials. you could not make the high end items by yourself you HAD to rely on others for top end components you needed. plus you had to have the money to pay for your extractors and materials you could not find. Once you got these items together you still had to experiment to get a good result and if you did you had to start over again each time wasting time and resources. it was a beast but the satisfaction came when you did get that one item. if you lucky and had the extra resources for it you made your schematic. others will testify to this. I spent 7 years doing this. So I do how frustrating this can be. be glad they did not bring in this system. they simplified it. MY time is very precious to me. I have a wife, 2 children one who is a special needs child I work one full and a part time. but learned to budget my time and remind myself it is a game and so what if I don't have the top end of everthing.
