Madness is a DOT spec. You need to be able to withstand damage while your DOTs eat away your opponent. IMO lightning barrier's 2 points are a must. I guess you could argue that lowering the cast time of Dark Infusion is an excellent tool to get you out of those "oh **** situations". Personally I would just save my instant whirlwind for a situation like this one and keep the 20% damage barrier boost. In the long run you will be using lightning barrier a hell of a lot more than dark infusion.

Im at lvl 48 and just got to Ilum. I was wondering if there is any pvp dailies in Ilum. If yes, do I have to quest and go through a bunch of horse crap to access them? If no, is there any pvp dailies at all in this game?

lightning is better for pve as it lacks mobility. madness is king for pvp thanks to all the cc's it provides and the fact that the only time you are not moving is when you channel force lightning. hybrid specs are complete and utter garbage. by not going deep into the talent tree you are missing out on the strongest abilities/spells. regardless of what you might read from clueless dodos in here stay away from them. /end

I meant crushing darkness. The 2 points on lingering nightmares are what I consider optional. and Im not a troll. Your spec is laughable. You are passing on the top talent from the madness tree. You are passing on instant whirlwind because you have no clue on how to use it. Now you are just trying to deflect attention from your laughable spec and ridicolous play style because I confused the name of an ability lol. I just read back my post and I do come accross as abrasive. I apologize for this. Bottom line is anyone can start a thread to share their build. My issue comes from calling it a "guide". I posted a link to what is the best build for madness at the moment(not my creation BTW, I lifted it from another thread, but the one I am ujsing ATM). When you post a train wreck of a spec, like OP did, and call it a guide you are spreading misinformation that can confuse new players.

OP hasnt figured out that lingering nightmares does NOT get cast until after force lightning (assuming of course you get the instant cast buff). the whole point of the madness tree is that you are ALWAYS on the move. you never stop unless you are channeling force lightning. a kiters dream and melees nightmare. but what do you expect of a person that neglects instant whirlwind because it breaks on damage. FYI genius.....whirlwind is an "oh ****" ability. it gets you out of those situations where you are being ganged up on by 2 players and/or allows you to put some distance between yourself and the opponent. I played a highly rated affliction warlock for many years. I quit just before the last patch of WOTLK. I know a thing or two when it comes to "affliction" type specs. The only reason I dont write a guide is because Im lazy and cant be bothered. Normally when I see some clueless dope post a spec like yours I read it, laugh and move on. The only reason Im posting here is because you are calling it a "guide". You are spreading misinformation that can confuse new players.
