  1. I PVP quite a bit and this happens more often than not. It is frustrating to say the least when you use Force Charge and the target just keeps going, specially when the animation lags on the landing and then they are out of range before you can move towards the target. The animation lag also happens when landing on an Intercede.
  2. It is human nature to seperate and classify things. This tendency has allowed us to advance in technology and learn at a faster rate. Unfortunately it also makes us classify other people. A good reason for this is for a sense of community ie people who look like me must think the same way as I do, but this is not always the truth. This classifying people is all around us look in movies, ads, commercials, magizines. You have to take the good with the bad and hope that as we educate our population we can get rid of these innate ignorant methods and solely use them for good and not evil. My father and grandfather are both racist bigots but that stops with me and I will teach my children to hate someone not because the color of his skin or sex or religion but hate them for being an idiotic dumba55. LOL
  3. LMFAO. Wow just wow. I know BMs of all DPS ACs that can utterly ruin BM healers. Those "thousands" you are talking about must be the thousands of baddies crying nerf on these forums. I am a Juggy (argueably the worst of all DPSers) and when I go DPS spec in DPS gear I can kill BM Healers in my Champ DPS gear. So I think you must be in denial.
  4. Don't worry about him, Ruuprect. The newbs mashing 1 or 2 buttons can be easily killed. Healing is easy but healing effectively and surviving in a PVP environment is another story. I know I am not very good at it that's why I play a tank because I am better at harrassing healers and protecting healers than actually healing.
  5. I am a full Champ gear PVP tank Juggy and in my experience a guarded healer is hard to kill, but an unguarded is alot easier. Don't call for nerfs to healers because he is running with a tank and using teamwork. I have a hard time going after healers in my tank spec but you don't see me yelling "Boost my Derps" or "Nerf Healers". Use teamwork people if you cannot solo a healer then mark him as a target and tell your team to focus fire him or if they have mulitple healers kill the squishiest one then work on his mate. If a healer is getting guarded then pull/push the tank or the healer away from him. The range on guard is 15m. Man, I came to SWToR hoping it would attract good players but these forums are full of whiney, entitiled, lazy children. Moral of the story L2Play or 5TFU and quit.
  6. Ours is just as broekn as yours. I think the main issue with resolve is the fact that slows and immobilize effects do not build resolve and are not blocked by a full resolve bar. Thus giving you the impression that your resolve bar is broken, when in fact you are immobilized not stunned.
  7. Soft cap is indeed at around 500 Expertise. Melee and Healers can keep stacking it but if your are ranged than you should stop at 500 and get Rakata gear/ Mods. Healers stack the expertise well for bonus healing. Melee can dance around in the AoE and take far less damage while in the Zerg taunting if you're a tank of course. Ranged classes get better main stat values from Rakata gear so it is more benficial to them to get 500 Expertise and then keep stacking main stat/ crit surge or power. Just my 2 credits.
  8. I think Qui-gon would have done a much better job teaching Anakin because Qui-gon was older, more experienced in the force, and a neutral. Anakin felt heart broken when he died and I think he looked to qui-gon as a kind of father figure but he did not feel the same respect with Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan was not ready to take on pupils when Qui-gon died and only did so out of respect for his former master. As a side note Anakin fullfilled the prophecy when he became vader and Palpatne excuted order 66. When it was over and done there were only 2 known Sith and 2 known Jedi. The Emperor and Vader, and Yoda and Obi-Wan. So Anakin did bring balance to the force by reducing the numbers of force sensivitve to even numbers and those 4 were mirrors of each other with similar powers and stature. He just didn't do it the way the Jedi or the Sith interprited it. All through the OT set there are only 2 Jedi and 2 Sith at any given time. Emp and Vader - Yoda and Obi-Wan Obi-wan dies as Luke realizes his potential Emp and Vader - Yoda and Luke Yoda dies and Luke finds out Lea is his sister thereby replcing Yoda with Lea Emp and Vader - Luke and Lea Vader dies and his prophecy is broken with his death Emp and Clones and new apprenctices blah blah - Luke Lea and many students
  9. Where have they "openly" stated this? Screenshot/URL or it didn't happen.
  10. In my experience as a PVP JuggyTank with Immortal spec I have found our DPS is fairly low as it should be we are tanks. I have done alot of research and found that if you go Immortal spec and use all Vindicator gear except the shield you will put out much better DPS. Right now I have all but 2 pieces in Champion War Leader gear and I can usually get like 100K if and only if I have a healer backing me up. I switched to all Centurion gear with 3 pieces of Champion DPS gear and my DPS was much better, I was much more reliably killing the healers I was harrassing before (It would really take me and another DPS to kill a good healer, but now I can kill them solo pretty regularly). Getting the gear for Champion will be exceedingly difficult now but even in full Cent gear you should be fine. I am finding that getting Valor in Ilum has been a challenge to say the least. I find myself leaping in, Hulk Smash, pop every CD I have and then intervene my butt to safety. Sucks for us Juggies with only having one ranged skill on a long timer but I have found ways to help. Getting on a gun when the Pubes are outside the base and facerolling them was alot of fun. Just jump on the gun after you pop CDs so you last a long time and watch the light blue numbers flood your screen while you tag everyone in their group for Valor points. Sorry got off topic there but I wanted to help in more ways than have already been stated. You have 75% of the hardest part of being a tank in PVP covered by having a pocket healer so be glad you are ahead of the curve in that respect. Some of our healers have switched to DPS for more medals and while I cannot blame them for it, it really makes my life that much harder. I do an AOE taunt and watch my health just tick tick tick away while I am saving my allies from damage no one is saving me. Get's really frustrating. TL:DR Get DPS gear and spec Immortal - Get a pocket healer - Mark and Kill their healers.
  11. My guild has tested this bug and we have reported how it is done to the proper channels. The response is that BW knows of this issue, they are working on a fix and they are recording anyone who does it for bans. I am not going to go into how to do this but suffice it to say it is reproducable very easily. My hope is this is fixed relatively soon.
  12. No one read this???? Cept one Troll??
  13. I enjoy the PVP World or WZ's when it's not bugged. Unfortunately it is really bugged and the overall PVP gameplay has been backshelved it seems.
  14. Just to preface my discussion, these are observations and topics I have seen since my Closed Beta time and up till now. I have an Immortal Spec'd Juggernaut that I leveled Vengeance spec but now at level 50 I am pure PVP tank. I have played Merc - healing, Trooper - Healing, Marauder - Annihilation, Operative - Stealth. I don't exactly know where I should start so I just going to start with the most glaring problems I have noticed and continue on from there. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. Please do not flame I want this to be discussed in an adult manner. I am not a baddy I usually score top awards in any Warzone I get into, I run with a premade of guildies and we work together as a team, the way it should be. Ability Lag First thing right off the bat is the ability lag. This coming from multiple areas. First is when my character blocks, parries, for deflects attacks I cannot queue a skill. Second is when I am running around trying to hit someone that is running from me it is difficult to have the animation start even though I am in range for the attack. Third is the interrupt this does not usually go off when the skill is pressed and as a tank I should be able to interrupt a caster precisely when I press the hotkey for it. I have noticed that the ability lag is significantly worse while involved in PVP anywhere in game not just the Warzones. I know that Bioware is working on this problem but to be honest a fix cannot come out soon enough. This is putting Melee classes at a severe disadvantage and I have noticed that people are not rolling melee classes specifically for this reason which is horrible. Melee classes are fun but when you are put behind the curveball from the start it makes it difficult to field teams of varying classes when all you can pull from are Ranged classes. From the information I have read about this issue is due to the fact most of the game is running client side in order to save bandwidth and this is why people are not actually where they appear to be on your screen and we see lag in our abilities. I also see people lagging out and rubber banding, they just appear to be standing in one spot spinning or turning back and forth when in reality they are moving around the area normally on their screen. PVP Gear Scaling Gear for PVP has come out way to fast in my opinion with a large difference in stats and expertise. To have 4 sets of gear for level 50's right at launch is way too many. The Expertise on the Battlemaster and even Champion gear has gotten out of control and this is the real reason we need level 50 brackets ASAP. The truth of the matter is that if the level 50 blues and Centurion were harder to get and there were no Champion or Battlemaster gear there would be no reason to need level 50 brackets. As it stands you can pretty much skip all of the blue level 50 PVP gear as well as the centurion gear. Furthermore the amount of expertise and stats on the Champion and Battlemaster gear is way too much to handle for anyone that does not have equivalent gear. Rift, for example, has done this and has broken the PVP advancement on a massive scale. They introduced too much gear with too high of stats and now anyone new to level cap has a serious uphill battle to try and catch up. The problem is while they are doing so they are getting one and two shot and not having fun. It is difficult for anyone new to level 50 in this game because now they will have to deal with people in such higher gear that they honestly won't stand a chance. You want people, new to PVP, to have a fun experience and I'm sorry but getting 2 or 3 shotted in a WZ is just not fun. It will also discourage people from trying PVP and giving it a really good go if upon reaching level 50 they get put into a bracket with people that they do not stand a chance against. For example I am Rank 45 PVP with all but my Lightsaber and Helm at Champion gear level, if I am fighting a Battlemaster my chances are very low I will even make a dent in them. If that is how it is at my gear level there is no way a new level 50, even in all PVP blues, is going to even stand a chance against them. This will discourage new people from trying out PVP and you will fall into the same trap that games like Rift have and that is always being behind the curve if you are a new player. Putting in brackets for level 50 is not going to solve the problem as new level 50's will be just as vulnerable as lower levels are in the current unbracketed Warzones. One solution to this could be to lower the stats, including Expertise, on all PVP gear then slowly ramping them back up as time progresses and more people are playing the PVP part of this game. Another solution would be to eliminate the Battlemaster gear all together, put the Champion gear in it's place and release it a month from now, make the Blue gear viable and easy to buy. You should be able to get some of this blue gear while leveling to 50 from 40 but most assuredly not be able to acquire all of it in this time, maybe 2 or 3 pieces and then farming the rest upon hitting 50. Then you get the Centurion gear, which would be the staple of most PVPers and have Champion at a level 60 Rank and add in Battlemaster gear following another 3 months later. When the Battlemaster gear comes out you move the centurion gear into the current blue slots or make the blue gear very easy to buy. For those of you with Battlemaster gear now you have to know that it is a joke going up against anyone in lower quality gear and that is not fun by any means. You will get bored as no one is a real challenge and the lower geared people will be QQing more and more as time goes on and rightfully so. All level 50's should stand a chance to play viably in Warzones. No one should be so geared they are unstoppable. The Devs have said that gear will not make more than a 10% difference and this has become untrue in the live game. I have no problem with all my Champion gear being downgraded to Centurion gear or blue gear for the betterment of the PVP. For example I was in a Huttball against a premade group of Quietus members who had 4 Battlemaster geared players and after scoring a single point they were able to stand on our side of mid field in a tight group passing the ball around their group to avoid the ball reset and there was absolutely no way to take the ball from them or kill anyone one of those Battlemasters. If we pulled the ball carrier out they just pulled him back down or up to the group and topped him off in a second or two. There is no way they are going to have any kind of competition in a Warzone and I think they will become bored with it and stop until the rest of us get to their level and it is theoretically even again. I can equate this to a professional Football team (premade group in BM gear) playing a high school (new 50's or anyone lower level) or college (better geared 50's without Battlemaster gear) team. It's just not fun for either side, there is no fear of losing for battlemaster nor is there a chance of winning for non battlemasters, no reason to play, frustration sets in and we lose our chance to bring in fresh people new to PVP. Gear Breakdown Level 50 Blues buy with Warzone Commendations Centurion Gear Buy with Mercenary COmmendations Champion Gear buy with Champion Commendations, which you recieve from Champion bags. They also have a chance to drop a token which can be turned in for any champion set peice. This bags can only be awarded for Warzone dialies. Battlemaster Gear buy with battlemaster Commendations, which you recieve from Battlemaster bags. These bags can only be awarded for OpenWorld PVP and you must have the equivilent Champion piece to turn in also. Expertise Breakdown Level 50 Blues 2.5% Expertise Max Centurion - 5% Expertise Max Champion - 7.5% Expertise Max Battlemaster - 10% Expertise Max The Expertise that is added can be a set bonus or a preset amount on each piece of gear such as 1.1% on each item for the battlemaster gear for example More PVP Warzones We need another 2 Warzones at bare minimum long before we need more PVE instances. PVP is by large the easiest and fastest way to get gear but with only three 8v8 areas to play in it gets very redundant and boring. Not to mention that most servers have a much larger Imperial population than Republic, so ipso facto we get tons of Huttball games. Don't get me wrong I love huttball as much as the next guy, it's probably my favorite game, but getting Huttball more than the other games is becoming a serious bummer. My suggestion would be to make one more cross/same Faction 8v8 and a cross/same faction 16v16. When the populations equal out and we can field consistent battles without having the majority of the Warzones same faction we should eliminate same faction PVP altogether. My personal choices for these would be to have another Alderaan type control point map for the 8v8 and to have an Ilum based Strategic map really closely matching the current Ilum, having vehicles which need to be destroyed and bases to siege. Using the rocket launcher at first to do all of this is fine and maybe later you can add player controlled vehicles to add some real immersion. This fight could closely resemble the Hoth battle in SW Episode 5 where each side has an offensive and a defensive round with objectives of taking out shield generators or something like this. For those of you old school WoW players something like the original Alterac Valley, there were no vehicles for players to use but still a good battle and alot of fun. The details can be worked out later in another post but the idea is sound and more maps are a must. The Plethora of Control Mechanics There is way too much CC, stuns, slows, pushes, pulls, and the resolve is not working 100% effectively. Seriously there is no need for a modern game to have this many ways for a player to lose control of their character. There have been times where I get pushed then stunned then pulled into the fire or poison and killed all within 3 to 4 seconds. I have also been stunned or rooted in place with a full white resolve bar, I know this happens because as a PVP tank I usually get the ball and I wait till my resolve bar goes completely white before using Unleash, my get out of stun skill, once I use that skill I should not be stunned or rooted in place again until my resolve bar resolves and goes back to a normal state where I should be able to be stunned again, but time after time I still get stunned or rooted and I cannot even throw the ball, pop a defensive CD or move. All of these CC mechanics are just getting ridiculous considering the fact resolve is not working properly. There also needs to be some kind of diminishing return on the snare abilities or after you click your get out of stun you should have some kind of limited immunity to being CC'd again, even if it is only 3 to 4 seconds. Warzone Premades We need to be able to queue more than 4 people into a Warzone. I have had times where I have to make my guildies sit out or start another group for Warzones queues because we have 5 to 8 people online if not more. We started a guild so we could play together, work as a team, and have fun. Right now it is horrible to have a good team of four guildies placed into a Warzone match with 4 PUGs that have no idea to pass the ball, hold defense, or fight at the door or the control point. You can tell people in chat a million times to do these things and I guarantee you will have people that don't listen and do whatever they want, disregarding playing as a team. Having all our members in UBER gear, Battlemaster gear, would make working with the PUGs irrelevant but that is just a byproduct of another serious issue. The goal here is to play with as many guildies as possible, I mean that's the main reason to be in a guild after all, so we can play together as a team. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to play, Huttball for example, with a group of PUGs that will not pass the ball or stay on defense at mid field. If we could field a whole team of guildies this would not be an issue at all. Ilum Changes We need more Republic players before we make any changes to Ilum. Right now as it stands I have only seen about 5 or 6 Republic players in Ilum at any given time. Compare this to the 20 to 30 Imperials there are on a regular basis. Changing Ilum this early, to a kill based daily/weekly is only going to make it harder on the Republic side and turn it into a Zergfest for the Empire side. My suggestion would be to leave it how it is, allow people to continue getting their weekly and daily done until we get more level 50's in the zone, maybe another month or two at the very least. I have a feeling what you are trying to do is force us into a Tarren Mill/South Shore type of battle. From my experience, being at the forefront of this in WoW during the vanilla days, it is better to just let this happen naturally. Blizzard did absolutely nothing to encourage this type of interaction besides creating a good map area with bases for each faction close enough together for us to evolve it into something as fun and spontaneous as it turned out to be. The main point being the players created this rivalry and as a result it spawned role-play and good memories for all players. Healing Awards Awards in Warzones need to be reassessed for healers. Currently healers get the short end of the stick in Warzone medals and as a result it is infinitely harder for them to get Warzone Comms which in turn makes it harder to get gear. As a tank I can say that I get a good portion of medals and it is hard if not impossible to do my job without a healer. My suggestion for this would be to have more incremental awards based on amounts healed over 75K, for example an award for every 50K in healing after the 75K award. Also an award for different people healed. A healers job is to heal many people and as such they should be awarded for doing so. Something to the effect of healing a single person for 10K and 25K in a single life or through the entire match. Tanks get an award for guarding people so healers should get an award for healing people as well. Warzones are won and lost by virtue of healing over any other single factor and what better way to say we appreciate our healers than to give them good compensation for doing their job. Right now there is a serious lack in healing for warzones and I cannot help but think this is due to the fact they get snubbed on awards. As a guild policy we try to help them by always voting MVP for our guild healer, this way they get a little bit more comms at the end of the match, but this is nowhere near the amount I can pull as a competent tank. I consistently pull between 800 to 1000 comms per match compared to a healer pulling in 30 to 50 per match. Breakdown of new healing medals 1. Award for healing Single person during one lifetime for 25K - Healing Award 2. Award for healing a player that is in combat from 25% to 85% - Life Saver 3. Award for healing 3 or more people for 15K each or for a combined total of 45K during a single lifetime - Healbot Award 4. Award for healing 75K and each additional 50K to 75K increment after that Lag in control point timers I have noticed that there are many times where I have finished the cast bar on placing a bomb or slicing a control only to have it not actually finish. If on a players screen the time has finished you should be completing the action not left scratching your head wondering what happened.
