  1. Thanks that worked except it was the level 65 planet I had to visit that allowed me to reset my mission.
  2. I'm having the same issue but unfortunately the reset button is dimmed for me for my Chapter 5 mission. I filed a support ticket 3 days ago and haven't heard anything from customer support yet.
  3. Your argument is akin to telling everyone they should stay home and not drive at night because a drunk driver might hit and kill them. Yeah, there are jerks in the game but for the most part, dps meters serve everyone a valuable purpose. The game shouldn't be designed because of the rare jerk. Now, if you happen to be bad at your toon, then I can see how you might view EVERYONE in the game as jerk out to get you.
  4. If it's not needed and it probably won't help then how is this a step in the right direction?
  5. So if a raid leader asks the newb in questing blues what his dps is and he says his is higher than everyone else, were supposed to just believe him right? Fail.
  6. I love it when I finish a fight with Theran and he says "Hey Holiday! Did you see that?!" It's rich on so many levels.
  7. Actually, if you see my post on page 2, you will see that Steam says 31% of users have a DX11 capable system.
  8. Here's some interesting stats from the Steam Hardware survey. 43% of all users have a DX10 capable system (i.e. OS is Vista or greater and DX10 card present) 31% of all users have a DX11 capable system (i.e. OS is Vista or greater and DX11 card present) 26% of all users have a DX9 capable system (i.e. OS is XP or video card is DX9). So adding DX11 support would benefit about a third of the user base and eliminating DX9 support would alienate a quarter of the user base.
  9. I've leveled a Jedi Consular (my main), a Smuggler, and a Sith Inquistor through their respective starting worlds and Tython was by far the longest to level through. I think the Smuggler starting world is in line with Korriban. So instead of saying starting zones favor sith, I would say Jedi world takes much longer than anyone else.
  10. I rarely did Elite quests in WoW so I'm not sure what's different here.
  11. I've played several MMO's (Wow, LOTRO, AoC, Aion) and this is the first MMO that I will (eventually) level an alt from 1 to max level. I will definitely play until I reach 50 on my alt. However, I don't have much time available for end game so I'm not sure what I will do after that.
  12. I’m amazed at the people who are scoffing at the notion that fully functional LFG tool can actually help people save time. I remember when I dinged 50 in Rift I was able to run dungeons with ease anytime I wanted to. That has not been the case in SWTOR. If it’s hard to get groups for lvl 50 flashpoints, people are going to stop playing the game. Its as simple as that. Yes, I’m sure there are some alpha dogs out there who will spend 15 minutes pinging random people in the fleet and spamming General to get people. But most people will prefer the simplicity of a LFG tool. Also, one advantage a real LFG tool has over all the methods described above (including the crappy LFG tag in the who tool), is that a real LFG tool could group people from different planets.
  13. About as often as you as you make a respectful post.
  14. This why I think the lack of video conferencing makes this summit a bad idea. You are essentially asking people who play this game for fun (even if in a leadership role) to pay 1000’s of dollars for airfare, lodging, food, and time away from work/school. Why would anyone want to spend 1000’s of dollars to help a company improve a service they are paying a monthly fee for? If my cell phone provider told me I could attend a summit to give my thoughts on how they could improve their service I would say heck no…go figure it out yourself or I’ll take my money elsewhere. I really like the idea that Bioware wants to reach out to the community but they have to eliminate the cost factor by offering video conferencing.
  15. I think it’s imperative that Bioware add a virtual portion to the conference so that guild leaders do not have to travel to Austin for the event. They are going to get a lot more participation if people don’t have to fork over 1000’s of dollars in travel fees just to participate in a user feedback session. They don’t have to open it up to everyone on the internet. They can still limit the virtual participation to pre-selected guild leaders. Just allow the guild leaders to participate virtually via streaming and webcams.
  16. MMO's are complex games. This is not the first MMO where I've seen a bug fix causes other bugs to happen. Did you even read the blog?
  17. Pop quiz time! How many of the 13 paragraphs in this blog addressed bug fixes? If you guess 12 then you are correct!
  18. Did you even read the blog? The entire blog except for the last paragraph was about fixing bugs.
  19. Yes, you can't buy fleet passes. Also, fleet passes have an 18 hour cooldown! That means you only use a realistically once a day. If they are wanting a quick fix planet travel times, they should cut the cooldown on fleet passes to 1 or 2 hours.
  20. I agree that the planet travel is an unnecessary chore. Yes, I understand that BW wants to make the game feel big so they don’t want people to be able to click a button and instantly appear on another planet. However, I just think all the work that’s involved with the actual travel from fleet to planet is a bit much. For example, if I want to travel from the fleet to Ilum, I have to. Click on my hanger door in fleet Ride speeder into ship and click on ship Walk through my ship to the command deck so that I can click on galaxy map. Click three times to select the planet I ultimately want to travel to Wait for 1-2 minute load screen Walk through my hanger on orbital station and click on elevator Walk through orbital station to transport and click on transport Finally arrive taxi on planet. Now, the above is a lot of work compared to clicking on a gryphon from stormwind and selecting some faraway destination and just walking away for 5 minutes for a personal bio break. I get that there has to be some time passing to give the illusion of travel but there’s just too much work involved at the moment.
  21. Thanks for posting. I'm a software developer so I'm familiar with a lot of what was mentioned here. Maybe that's why despite all the bugs I've experienced I haven't been rage posting/quitting like so many on here.
  22. How about this as a simple requirement for the new guild: You must have seen at least episode 4,5 or 6 in the theaters. I saw episode 4 at the theaters on a field trip in my kindergarten class! I doubt anything like that would happen today.
  23. I’m a 39 yo database programmer that works for a PC company that everyone has heard of. I’m a married man with two kids (5 yo boy and 1.5 yo girl). It’s great to have threads like this because I always imagine other players as being college aged guys playing from their dorm rooms. So it’s great to see that there are other working professionals who play as well. My 5 yo son learned about Star Wars for the first time because of this game. He’s now hooked on Clone Wars and will be watching Episode I at the theaters when it is re-released next month in 3D. He’s only seen episodes I and II (the others are too intense for him) so to him Anakin is a completely different person than Darth Vadar. It will be interesting to see what happens when he’s old enough to see episode 5.
  24. No, but having all the hate posters leave will definitely make the forums more tolerable.
