  1. About half of the people I play with have experienced this bug. This is something that should be prioritized and worked on 24/7 until they find a solution. Its so bad it makes me not want to play the game. Why should I when there's a good chance I might end up just wasting my time anyway?
  2. How does Bioware find it acceptable that for the second night this week I am unable to finish my PVP daily because my wins are not counted toward my daily? Maybe they think it is fun to win warzones which *might* count toward my daily so I can claim a bag that *might* have gear in it. Maybe they think that including as much RNG as possible is fun. This should be a priority. It breaks the whole PVP daily system. It should be hotfixed. Will it be? Probably not. SWTOR Devs are too busy rolling in piles of money to care.
  3. Half of the problems you stated are due to a huge faction imbalance, at least on my server. As a Republic player Huttball is the least common Warzone, for Imps it is the most common because they have to pair you with other Imps because everyone wants to be on the "cool" or most popular faction. With regards to world pvp, it would be very difficult to balance. Very few Republic players go to Illum anymore because of how badly we are outnumbered. There is an army of Imps just waiting there to roll us. When we do go to Illum we switch to the phase that is least populated with Imps. There is very little that BW can do about these issues. Everyone gave in to the herd mentality and wanted to shoot lightning or be Darth Maul. I'm surprised that there wasn't a stronger resistance to that mentality, or more people that enjoyed playing the underdog instead of the heavy favorite (faction.) With regard to the gear grind aspect of the game, what can be said? That is typical of almost every MMO out there. Some MMOs like GW2 seem to be trying to break that up. We will see. In the meantime I would suggest you try rolling Republic on a PVP server if you can stomach it. Leveling will be much slower and much more difficult. The valor grind will be slower as well, since we are always heavily outnumbered on Illum. Good luck either way, I hope you find something you enjoy.
  4. What I want to know is why sooo many people want to be the heavy favorite. Does nobody enjoy being the underdog? The issues that the Devs have had to fix all favor the Empire. The overwhelmingly most populated faction is the Empire. Questing on a PVP server as Republic is genuinely difficult because of the population imbalance. I understand that some people will just want to be Darth Maul or shoot lightning. Especially on PVE servers. But when it comes to PVP isn't it fun, at least sometimes, to be the underdogs? Is it really enjoyable to be on Illum and be a massive army of unstoppable power that overwhelms the enemy with pure numbers and not skill? I can understand that there are a few reasons that make the bad guys the popular faction in almost all MMOs. What blows me away with this game is the huge disparity. Usually there is a counter-culture movement or a resistance to the herd mentality. But not with this game apparently.
  5. This skill is easy to counter. There are multiple ways to counter it. Both factions can do it. If a door has a vigilant defender who is paying attention, they will catch this. So what's the problem here? That you actually have to pay attention to counter it? Stay awake and defend your doors / cap points. This is PVP not PVE. There isn't always a giant flashing FIRE on the ground telling you where and how to move. Learn to pay attention and be ready for anything.
  6. Alright there is obviously a lot of differences between the classes and almost all of them favor the Imps. I don't understand why they don't acknowledge that there is a problem here, and then give us some input on it. Do you know about these problems yet? Are you working on them? Are you not sure, but you are looking into it?
  7. Play multiple classes on both factions and you will see it is true. Or watch youtube videos demonstrating some of these issues. Or just be a faction fan boy. I would like to see a Dev response to this thread. There are some legitimate issues that many people are talking about. Im interested what Bioware's position is on this issue, or if they have even looked into it or will be looking into it.
  8. An elitest can deride you for CCing a mob and not DPSing WITHOUT a meter. The point is that elitists and jerks will be elitists and jerks with or without the meters. Just because some people will use it dumbly is not a good excuse to exclude it for those of us who will use it intelligently. Never let the idiots ruin a good tool for the rest of us.
  9. Can we stop talking about schools, and sexual and religious preferences, and gun laws. There is no real analogy to be made. And the discussion can be had without those types of analogies.
  10. Comparing game information with social issues is terrible. There is no analogy to be made. And it is introducing those social and political issues into the discussion, which is NOT going to be beneficial. Recount meters HAVE made games more fun for me. I enjoy being informed. The absence of combat logs and meters only leaves us ignorant. I, for one, prefer to have a tool that can be used to improve my play and the play of my friends and guildies.
  11. If you don't want the game to be micromanaged than don't micromanage, and don't play with people who do. Many people enjoy the micromanaging aspect of this kind of game. Many people like to be as informed as possible. Just because you want information to be hidden and wish to remain ignorant does not mean that the rest of us do.
  12. But it did. WoW had one of the most competitive endgame PvE scenes Ive ever seen in an MMO. All the good guilds had meters and they knew how to use them. Unfortunately there are always people who link only DPS and complain when someone is doing 5% less DPS then them. This happens in all facets of life. People try to pervert information or statistics. This is a poor reason to argue for the removal of information gathering. Will a Recount meter be used by some to be idiots and jerks? Of course. Will it be used intelligently by intelligent people? Of course. We must not let let the idiots ruin a good tool for the intelligent. That would be terrible.
  13. Of course the community would change. An informed community is always changed for the better. Benefits of leaving ignorance behind and gaining a measure of knowledge about the game; 1. We would know who is dying repeatedly to some mechanic, and we could fix that. 2. We would know how our personal DPS compares to that of the best, mediocre, and worst of our class. 3. We would know stuff like who is interrupting consistently, who is avoiding damage, and who is not. 4. Many people feel like their class or some other class is overpowered or underpowered. Meters can help the community be more informed about these statements and make informed posts on forums asking devs for nerfs/buffs. I cannot see why having this information would be bad. Ignorance is not preferable, in my opinion.
  14. A good meter like Recount can present a ton of useful information. More than just DPS, though DPS is helpful as well. There is also damage done to, damage taken from, and deaths from. This type of information is very useful to anyone hoping to improve their play or the play of their friends/guildies/party members. There is no reason to fear information. Knowledge of our performance can only help to improve the community, contrary to what some have said here. Personally, I would not want to be part of a community, gaming or otherwise, who wished to remain ignorant about important information. An informed population is nothing to be afraid of, it can only serve to empower us as players.
  15. Im kind of pissed about stuff like this. All of us affected have questions. It would be nice if Bioware would get one Developer to take two or three minutes out of their time to explain stuff like this. But you know what? BIOWARE DOES NOT CARE.
  16. Still waiting on a patch to fix this. waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting Bioware is really never going to fix this are they?
  17. Dear Bioware, Are you still working on this bug? Will there ever be a fix for us JKs who have a broken Kira? Is this even anywhere on your radar? We have heard nothing about this bug in a while. I'm starting to worry it is not going to be fixed at all, that this issue is being swept under the rug. This is me hoping that next week's patch will have a fix. Or that a Dev deems us deserving of a little information about what's going on.
  18. First of all Dooku incapacitated both Jedi temporarily but chose to eliminate Obi Wan and deal with Anakin. Perhaps to eliminate the great long term threat? Also, Obi Wan was attacking from the front in that scene and Anakin was attacking from behind when both Jedi were thrown to the ground. Obi Wan was in the more dangerous position. Maybe the defensive master was trying to work in tandem with the more offensive minded jedi to eliminate the sith lord? Also, Anakin was obviously conflicted in the episode 3 battle with Obi Wan. Clearly, there was still good in him. He was definitely not fighting with a clear mind. Obi Wan was fighting with a single minded determination to end the destruction Anakin was causing. There is a huge different in the frames of mind between the two jedis at that point. So was Anakin overall a better fighter? Probably. Was Obi Wan the better Jedi overall? I would say so. In contests of skill does the better team/player/fighter always win? Of course not. Many factors play into who is victorious and who is defeated other than skill alone.
  19. Now that the holidays are over I'm hoping they can get to work fixing this. I seriously hope they don't leave it like this for those of us who are screwed.
  20. We have a legitimate complaint. One of the advertised features of this game is broken for us. Interactive companions with storylines of their own is something that makes this game stand out from other games. So why the silence? A Dev post once or twice a week about this issue would make me feel a lot more informed and a lot less ignored. A post that would take less than 5 minute of a Devs time. Are we not worth a couple minutes of one developers time, once or twice a week? Why are we being ignored?
  21. This is what they hope all Jedi Knights will do. They are incapable of fixing this and they don't want us to know. They refuse to give information about this issue. They are hoping we just give up and go away. By not communicating with us about this issue they are showing us that it is OUR problem and not something they care about. BIOWARE DOES NOT CARE.
  22. Another day without any kind of response or information about this issue. BIOWARE DOES NOT CARE. Until they start communicating with us about this issue I'm gonna keep saying it. It seems as if Bioware is taking the stance that this is OUR problem and we need to just deal with it and move on. They are not concerned about this issue. I personally think that they have no idea how to fix this issue for those of us who missed our chance with Kira. I bet it's gonna be a very long time before we see a fix, if ever at all. It really is a shame that such a cool aspect of my class is broken and there is no plans to fix it, from what I can tell.
  23. If they cared they would tell us that it is either something they hope to fix soon, or something that will be like this for a long time. People want to know if they should re-roll or hang tight. Personally I think it will take a very very long time before this is resolved. They have BHs who cant even complete their class quest. Do you think a romance side quest that has been broken since beta is going to be fixed anytime real soon? I don't. There are some of us that consider this bug a big deal. IF Bioware cared about us they would have a Dev posting every so often about this issue. Go to the BH boards and see how badly they are screwed. BTW; Have you seen the latest patch notes, lol. See all those fixes they got lined up! lol
  24. BIOWARE DOES NOT CARE. If they did they would be giving us some kind of idea about what is going on with this. But they have given us nothing. They are trying to sweep it under the rug. Mark my words... This is going to take a very long time for them to fix, if ever it is fixed at all.
  25. Ok so when we emote at our companion, say... /flirt, /hug, /slap... They should emote back to us or otherwise respond in some way! The response should correspond to our affection with them of course. RPers will love it and it will add a pretty funny and cool aspect to the game. And a ton of immersion as well. Im pretty sure it can be done relatively cheaply since only text and animations that are already present will be needed. Thoughts?
