  1. Its funny...I usually hate PvP and have gone to great lengths to grief PvPers in other games (honesty is a key policy with me), but I've had quite a lot of fun doing the Warzones in this game.
  2. I'm holding out. I currently like the direction the legacy system is taking the game, but disagree with how it is being done. I do not understand why such a system would be supported through credits instead of its own specific currency (like PvP or Fleet missions). If you're interested, I touch on this more here. If 1.2 launches and the legacy system still uses credits, I'm cancelling the sub.
  3. *Looks at the OP's avatar.* Yeah, makes sense to me. /signed
  4. This is a real simple idea in nature. Whenever you take any of the customization items out of a piece of gear, it binds the gear to you. This is regardless of whether or not you've ever equipped the gear or you meet the requirements to even wear the gear! Solution: Whenever someone goes to remove a mod, hilt, etc. from a piece of gear that is not currently bound to the character, a warning message should appear stating that altering the gear will bind it to the character.
  5. I...okay, this has been bugging the crap out of me for awhile now. Jedi Code: There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force. Love seems to be frowned upon in a Jedi's existence - giving any one person greater attention - especially more attention, than the Jedi Order or the force itself. So...how exactly does a Jedi have a child at any point in their life, remain on the Lightside, and remain respected by the Jedi Order? Why would the Jedi Order respect a child that was born out of 'giving into the darkside' ? Is a Jedi supposed to be ashamed that they have a kid?
  6. I recently read through an article for the 1.2 update. The article can be found here: http://mmo-mechanics.com/news.php?article=1-2-legacy-system-preview Everything looks great. All the ideas I think are wonderful additions, and great start to a system with amazing potential. My one complaint, the biggest flaw, is using credits as an alternative instead of Legacy-system specific points. The current list: Crew missions cost creds Crafting costs creds Gear costs creds Companion gear costs creds Removing item mods costs creds Repairing gear costs creds Traveling costs creds Taxis cost creds Class abilities cost creds Ship upgrades cost creds Social items you've earned the correct social level for cost creds From what I've seen from the official 1.2 teaser videos, they're going to be adding even more to the game: Gear customization More color options More gear in general Vanity pets There's probably much more in the way of obtainable items. A lot of these things will probably cost credits as well. I do not understand how NOT having Legacy Points (much like Warzone Commendations or Fleet Commendations) is a good idea. With so much already in the game and the boast of adding more, how is it a good idea to spread credits so thin over so many things for current players? Even better question ~ how is this a good idea for new players?
  7. I dunno...after playing Champions Online (CO) or Star Trek Online (STO), the entire naming system this game uses (along with with numerous other MMOs) just seems inefficient. CO and STO use social handles that appear after character names. Example: Your handle is "Bob". Your character's name is "Coconut". So you would be "Coconut@Bob". Legacy? Say it is "Mixer". You suddenly become "Coconut Mixer@Bob". The name "Coconut" is available to everyone because the only name that has been truly "used" at this point is "Coconut@Bob". In-game, only the character's name appears above their head when scrolling over. The "@handle" thing only appears in chat. You can, of course, edit social options so that the "@handle" doesn't appear so as not to break any immersion (if it bothers ya).
  8. I only have one central complaint in the entire scheme of things, just one. Everything is unlocked HOW? Recently saw that they're making it so the race/class restrictions can be lifted: Good idea. My Twi'lek trooper idea was suddenly a possibility. I'll admit that I saw the pts forums and saw that there was a level 50 prerequisite to unlock a race. I rolled a Twi'lek knight, jumped in. Now its a little hard to stay attentive when you know you're pushing a character to 50 so you can make the character you really want to make. I figured there might be another way to make a twi'lek trooper ~ after some reading, there apparently is...credits. Dat rite der guna bez uh probe-lem. Standard things that cost creds: Crew missions cost creds, crafting costs creds, gear costs creds, removing item mods costs creds, repairing gear costs creds, traveling costs creds, taxis cost creds, class abilities cost creds, ship upgrades cost creds, social items you've earned the correct social level for cost creds, PvP gear costs PvP currency...wait...I think I messed up...one of these things is not like the other. PvP gear costs PvP currency. Why...THAT MAKES SENSE! I PvP: I earn creds, sure, yet I earn a special PvP currency (warzone commendations) that gets spent on PvP-beneficial stuff! The comparison: So when I earn legacy experience (valor points) and legacy levels (valor ranks), I also earn credits (credits) and a special currency called "credits" (warzone commendations) that get spent on legacy-specific stuff. "Legacy Points" need to be a special currency which get spent on legacy-specific stuff, earned by gaining legacy experience and/or levels. Legacy points, not credits.
  9. Magical. Simply magical. It always bothers me when something doesn't work like I want it to (this isn't even a square-peg-in-round-hole-sorta-problem) but you made it work! Thank you sir!
  10. I'm not completely against cash shops. Vanity Pets Additional Companion Customizations (looks, not armor) Character customization (more hair, skin colors, eye colors, tattoos, etc.) Name Change I'm not against the idea, but we currently lack a post-character-creation way to change the look of our characters, so I feel it is far too soon to introduce this sort of thing. That, and I feel the stuff offered through micro-transactions needs to be mostly obtainable in-game and not have ANY stat related impact on the game. I am completely against the pay-to-win model. You want to pay-to-win? You can do that. With in-game currency. Which should not be purchasable via micro-transactions.
  11. Yet every Jedi Consular gets the title Barsen'Thor (or maybe the option? I didn't go Darkside).
  12. There are a few race/class restrictions (within their respective faction) that do not make sense to me. Twi'lek Trooper: I've seen plenty of Twi'lek NPCs in heavy armor. It is the military. I do not understand the restriction. Twi'lek Bounty Hunter: Please explain race restrictions on collecting a bounty lol Twi'lek Imperial Agent: Once again, military. That, and spies. No one suspects that the new twi'lek 'slave' knows how to assemble a sniper rifle in a minute. Sith Bounty Hunter / Imperial Agent: While the Sith are force-sensitive by definition, saying that one can't possess individuality and thus want to not have a lightsaber is uh...not realistic? (Please don't come back with the rebuttal "Realistic? Lightsabers? Force powers? Cool story bro." A lack of individualism is not realistic.) Chiss Warrior / Inquisitor: So there's this bit where the force is supposed to be this power in all things and creatures, hence the entire Flesh Raider mission on Tython. If the Chiss are allies with the Empire, I don't see why a force-sensitive Chiss can't be trained. It'd be great for relations. (That entire slave bit for Inquisitors might be hard to explain..."But we train ALL inquisitors this way D:")
  13. I have to agree with this. But then I saw... I started to agree with this, but I had some gut reaction not to. Logged in, ran to a a Lightside or Darkside vendor, and knew EXACTLY why. There is moddable, empty, orange gear available from both vendors. They don't boost powers, they're just a moddable fashion statement. So with Shingara's logic, your Darkside or Lightside points aside (sorta like your Fleet Commendations aside), you should need social points to use em... Yeah...no. As for the entire social point system, I sorta like it. Does it need work? Hell yeah it does. But it does encourage group play and uh...it is a MMO. In the heart of it all, I don't look at content in that it MUST require a team, I look at content and say, "This would be fun if I had a team." As the social point numbers are currently set up, I can see it start to not be fun trying to grind to the high level social levels. "It is a MMO" becomes sour when you need a constant group, since like...level 1, to achieve high social levels. That's an idea. I like it. Teaming in itself is social interaction and thus should be awarded as such. Anyway, there's my two cents.
  14. Tython - Flesh Raider I think the rough explanation is that the force is in everything and everyone and thus anyone can be force sensitive. The Sith being species-ist (like racist but uh...species) could be an explanation. But even that is a bad reason to me. If communication between a species, say the Chiss, exists with the Empire, then there's the chance of a Chiss being recognized as force sensitive and thus trained.
  15. While I definitely agree here, they'd need to probably make the loot roll timer a bit longer.
