  1. Hmmm so it seems everyone is having this issue. I wish I had a solution but I do not. Maybe bioware needs to spend more money on the hamsters?
  2. So 1.3 drops and character transfers went through. Things were fun again, I was actually able to play my toons on a non deserted server. It was not until this last week that the lag began to be unbearable. It was fine initially after 1.3, but now its not just ability delay, the whole game just runs crappy and choppy. All I do is PvP and dailies.... and it is so frustrating when something like throwing a huttball lags by a second or two. Is everyone else experiencing this also? My sub ends in August..... I might have stuck around but if this lag continues. . . . straw, back, ect ect
  3. Its because most people who have unsubbed are also not even bothering with the forums. All you are left with are bioware fanbois and people who are playing the game, but have nothing to do because their server is dead so they hang out in the forums. Just my opinion though.
  4. I stopped playing SWG before "death troopers" and fat storm troopers. I think I was around to see the first jedi's start popping up around the world. So my experience was up to that point, and I enjoyed that universe far more than SWTORs.
  5. These companies coming out with MMO's are trying to make the game as broad and appealing to as many people as possible, so they can get the most bang for their $$. The problem is, these games end up having a lot of elements of things people want...but none are perfected or done well. It ends up being an underwhelming game and then fails. I would have too look to Eve as being a model for being a game that has a special niche. Its not the most popular MMO, but its been around for long time and has viciously loyal fans. Its not a game for everyone, and it has no illusions of trying to be that game.
  6. So people are just expected to sit around fleet and do nothing all day on their dead servers until these transfers come through? What happens when your server is not picked for transfers or to transfer off? Are we expected to pay more money to be able to transfer? Yes, I do feel entitled. As should everyone paying a monthly subscription. Look at server pops. This game is dying, and it might be too late for transfers or mergers. I do care, and thats why I even bother posting about it. If bioware wont fix the problem, who will? Your statement makes no sense. Maybe the tooth fairy will fix it. .
  7. ^ This Cerion. You keep responding to my posts with abstract questions and providing nothing to support your argument. I could not have said it better than the poster above. SWG had the best Star Wars universe in my opinion, and KOTOR was even better ( although not an MMO ) than SWTOR . You mention the release of WoW. Yes, it had lots of problems, but at the time, the genre was in its infancy. What could you compare it too at the time? UO, SWG, EQ, maybe even Neverwinter Nights? Since then many MMO's have been developed. WoW was the first to pull so many subscribers because they delivered a quality product. They really set a standard for what MMO's should be in terms of level of service, performance, and fun. When a game like SWTOR comes around with all of its bugs, poor customer service, and lack of forsight. . . yes people are going to leave. A paying customer has every right to have high expectations, especially when you look at the players involved.
  8. The bar, meaning OTHER successful MMOs. WoW is running smooth and its a well oiled machine. Yes, it had many years to get things worked out, but thats it... a standard. It set the standard ( bar ) for what an MMO should shoot for. Sure it had 1.3 million subs, how many of those are currently playing or have already unsubbed? It had a great launch due to the Star Wars and Bioware name. That being said, yes, the game is financially successful. Im not sure why you are arguing that point with me... I think myself and many others would say that this is NOT the most impressive SW universe ever realized. I would say that is your opinion. My factual evidence of this game not delivering is the server selection screen. If I have to explain how the server populations are dropping at alarming rates then you are nothing but a fanboi. Hey, Im a Star Wars fanboi too. I grew up with the original movies and Id love to see this game succeed. But Im not gonna throw my money, time, and loyalty into a game that has failed to "deliver".
  9. This game has had so many bugs and problems, an engine that cant support itself, and implementations that have since been removed ( see illum ), yes... I say this game has been broken. If name changes are your biggest concern with server mergers.... well I dont know what else to tell you. I would gladly let my name be made by a 5 year old, or a random name generator if it meant I could play on a server with a healthy population that allowed me to, you know, play the game.
  10. Cerion, you are right. The game has not failed for the companies involved financially. They have made their returns. I think what people are referring to as "failure" is the expectation of the game. With the long development, the Star Wars brand name, and a respectable game company in Bioware, people thought this game was going to be the new sliced bread. Gamers today seem to have little tolerance for major errors and broken promises. The bar has been set with past games and in most peoples eyes SWTOR has not delivered. People are not willing to pay a monthly subscription to a game that has not met their expectations, and I cannot blame them.
  11. Nothing was broken? You're kidding right? I also stated that I will not pay to transfer my toon. Transfers are not the answer. MERGERS.... I repeat, this game needs mergers. There is entirely too many empty servers, transfers will just make more dead servers, and maybe a few more healthy ones. I have already unsubbed, but Im paid through August. Thats a long time for them to make some sweeping changes, and I refuse to pay money to transfer a toon. These issues should have been dealt with already. Making anyone pay to transfer at this point is just greedy. Its the agonal breath of a dying game trying to squeeze every last penny out of its loyal subscribers. Shame on them.
  12. I rerolled fatman the other day. I left 3 level 50's, a lot of legacy, and multiple level 30 and 40 toons behind. I WILL NOT give greedy bioware anymore of my money to transfer a toon because they broke their own game. They should have merged servers weeks ago. There are too many other games out there for them to be so narrow minded to think that they have the best product. They should have learned from previous mistakes of other MMOs.
  13. Thanks for the tips... I figured it was a matter of not having all of its abilities. Its just funny how some classes seem to be able to do real well at lower levels. Im not looking for god mode. If I wanted that, I would have stayed on my Jedi night in full War Hero, unfortunately I'd be sitting around fleet all day waiting for a Q to pop....
