  1. Because why not. Republic's all-inclusive, and the Empire will hire anyone who'll get the job done. I realize limiting it to one class per faction sucks- it would also work for Republic Smugglers but not Empire Operatives, narratively speaking. BONUS: No real need to hire another voice actor. Either way, I hope Bioware starts thinking outside the "crayola" humanoid box for new species (sorry for pejorative "crayola" bit, as I actually like the species currently offered).
  2. One thing that I would consider for this weapons wishlist, is much like the dyes are available for armors, would it be possible to add an 'effects' dye slot to the weapons? Could be out of programming range, but perhaps as suggested above, someone wanted the effect from the Ziost Guardian's Saber available on another. Could you just create an 'Electrify' "dye" mod for sabers? Or 'laser sight' for guns/rifles, etc.? Or 'concentrated beam' for the Death Star effect to the cannons? Just a thought. Would open up a world of customization for weapons.
  3. On the return of the Gree event for next time, will the cyan sphere still be available? Some of us haven’t had the time to get Champion standing with the Gree to get the mixed cost vendor cyan speeder, and I’d like to think that I would be able to get it eventually. I would really appreciate it if we could at least purchase it now while the cost is snow covered parcels and Grey Helixes, and bind it once our rep is high enough, but that may be too much to ask in too short a time.
  4. Please? Shouldn't be too hard. I know they're niche uses but I don't like having to backfarm just to get mats for them, the ones we have aren't really up to snuff. I like having them as an alternate source of damage/stun. So... please?
  5. I searched the forums and there's not a lot on this that I can tell, has anyone else purchased this set to try to sell it and it arrives bound? The tooltips from the mouseover say bind on equip, but like a lot of the other cartel items, it's arrived bound. EDIT: Yeah, I'm an idiot. Didn't see the countdown timer.
  6. OP, as a mostly PVE player, I appreciate your concern. Only a very small part of me agrees with you (though all of me appreciates your sentiment). From a PVE perspective, it would have been nice to 'earn' this stuff but as another poster said, this is a huge boost in revenue for them, which will in turn lead to overall further development of the game. With the exception of the Space Gear (Bioware, you've made somewhat ambiguous post regarding this- DO NOT EQUATE CARTEL MARKET EFFORT AS EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN PLAYING THE GAME- NO STAT GEAR PERIOD ON THE MARKET) the cartel market items are cosmetic, and I like the effects. Of the two nifty lightsabers with effects, one will be for pvp and one for pve. In short, I'm ok with this- but thank you for thinking of players across the board from you!
  7. Well, Cartel Market and recent updates are making sweeping oversights regarding crafting. While I've always enjoyed crafting, I wouldn't rely on it too heavily for a while, either for income or entertainment, until the cartel market comes into its own. My guess would be for the first expansion (Makeb?) before crafting gets a serious looking into.
  8. I was one of many who was not in the closed Beta, but from what I understand the central quest/flashpoint/operations hub used to be Coruscant. Without knowing the main reasons why this change was effected, is it possible that they could be reinstituted? Is this something being looked at for the future, or the Makeb expansion? Or even Makeb itself? (I know there are already other threads on this, I just feel it merits continued discussion) Myself and a friend were discussing the state of the game, and while I’m not a big RP’er I like to see people getting into it, and both the fleets feel too sterile. In particular, we were discussing the… debatable… holiday mount which he loves and I find exasperatingly humorous. Not my favorite thing ever, but great for RP’ers around this season! Thing is, there is nowhere on the fleet for folks like him to gather and strut their Life Day stuff. Coruscant has two wing plazas perfect for this. This applies through the rest of the year as well- there’s more space, it actually feels like a capitol, instead of a sanitary, cold, place- Dromund Kass actually feels more alive than Coruscant. Odd from an RP standpoint- DK is a city in a jungle, Coruscant is a planet-wide city; and DK feels more alive? In summary- would it be possible for both to be hubs, or perhaps the fleet become a 10-49 hub, and Coruscant (or Makeb) for level 50’s? Or vica-versa (in the case of Coruscant)?
  9. /signed. Enoax, I know we were both watching those forums- I submitted a bug report which was closed, and have now submitted a report under item/loot which is open and waiting resolution. I do not want to wait out the time and effort to get another 300 comms because of a hidden mechanic.
  10. Be sure to check out this thread, as I've been looking into this topic recently. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=562338&page=6 If you're looking at the proc relics, as another poster said it looks like this is probably accurate: Dread guard relic of elemental transcendance for consulars/inquisitors and warriors/knights Dread guard relic of dark radiance (internal) for smugglers/operatives. Troopers/BH not using ArP cell or equivalent) Dread guard relic of kinetic tempest for troopers/BH using armor peircing cell (or equivalent) Dread guard relic of cerulean nova (energy) for no one. You can read the thread for the reasoning behind these suggestions, but I am pretty sure they are right.
  11. No global skill exactly, sundering strike puts up a stacking debuff but it isn't direct armor piercing damage per se.
  12. Oh man, just read through this read and hope I'm understanding it correctly. For my dps guardian, I have the internal proc relic, and as I understand the conversation here, I should have the elemental instead. Am I reading this correctly, based on melee force/tech crit chances? As several of you have mentioned, I would hate to think I gimped myself on a 300 daily comm charge. :-/ EDIT: I think Enoax just posted the confirmation I was looking for. So.... eff. Guess I am going to send a ticket.
  13. Just curious- was he/she spamming for 100k, as in 100,000 credits for $29? Or 1,000,000? Either way, that's an incredibly stupid amount of real money for credit gain- which would give legitimacy to the above poster's note about testing their limits. But surely they should know that $29 of cartel coins spent in items to trade (i.e. armor sets) would rack even a miserly user far more than even a million in game credits. Then again, there's credit farmers for you.
  14. I had posted this in another thread as well, but I'll reiterate: One of my main reasons for wanting the shorter burn (9 or 6 seconds would be great) is that Plasma Brand procs Master Strike, which was not the case with talents at launch. The spec changed, but the 41 point skill did not- it needs to catch up. As it is, we lose 25% of PB's burn most of the time because of this. Some extra front loaded damage would be excellent... perhaps these two things would put us back into the 5% gap they say all classes are in.
  15. Ha, writing style aside (as mentioned above) you have articulated my own feelings and concerns. Thank you for the write up, and have a full endorsement from another player as this pretty much expresses my own thoughts about the recent patch and the future of this game. We want you to succeed! Go team!
  16. Seconded. With the notes from the Austin event also hoping for something awesome with the SSSP.
  17. Thank you for posting this! Love the tantalizing little bit about the SSSP.
  18. Just a hopeful bump for the devs, since 1.6 is up... Show Vigilance some love?
  19. I would like to express my appreciation for your work and your patience. While I have been affected by the 1.5 bugs, Customer Service fixed me up- not happy about the bugs but it's not a big deal. I have felt bad for all of you since 1.5 hit as it was clear you were understaffed. I told my CS agent how helpful he was and how much I appreciated his help. While getting upset about a game is a little ridiculous, it is how many of us relax after our jobs, so it does have value in that- but it's still a little absurd. That being said, you have been on the receiving end of a LOT of fire that neither you, the Community Team, or the Customer Service team, could help. Thank you for the updates. There are critiques I would also like to offer, but not today, I think you all have enough on your plate. So here's some positivity your way- thank you again!
  20. What? No. You even call them gambling bags in your title. Sorry, but they need to make money to keep the game going- when you gamble, you will sometimes win, and sometimes lose.
  21. Could this possibly be related to the cave in Terror from Beyond? http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=537732
  22. I'll start by saying that I know this thread is probably an exercise in futility, but here goes anyhow. To the EA Execs, on the off-chance that any of you check the pulse of your game(s), would you consider letting your Bioware branch just... do what it does best? While I recognize MMO's are still relatively new territory to you, you're firmly ensconced now. You have one of the best IP's and best developers, would you consider letting them just do their own thing for like, two weeks? A month? Just a little experiment, to see how it goes, what gets fixed, how the players respond? This includes things like: 1. Not setting arbitrary deadlines for your devs 2. Letting the devs make design decisions, both about gameplay and free to play 3. Not breathing down their necks if something doesn't have immediate results 4. Just leave them alone I got to thinking about this after this weekend's Free-to-Play launch, and some of my own reflections which I will keep out of this thread. Bioware has created some of my all-time favorite games, and I feel like given the kind of freedom they had when other games were made, they could perhaps do it again. I kind of don't even know why I'm bothering to post this- oh well. Part of my concern is from an thread someone posted around the free-to-play announcement that listed all the game franchises EA had taken over, and subsequently shut down. I just want this game to do well.
  23. Seconded, thank you again Dev team. Still loving it, you have a life-of-game subber here!
  24. /signed. I'm a huge supporter of this, and mentioned as much when free to play was first announced. How the free game is perceived is crucial to growth, and aside from the language itself, the implementation needs to feel inviting and not punitive. It's obviously too late to change it for release, but I hope that for the next few weeks the team will focus on adjusting the free to play model to be the best it can be. As a subscriber from day one, I am saying YES: PLEASE focus on making free to play enjoyable and INVITING, even if it comes at the expense of content. I realize this will rub a lot of people the wrong way, and others have already gotten up in arms about the "promise" of content every six weeks (please remember, they are going to try to be hitting at or as close to 6 weeks as they can for updates, but it may be late or early sometimes). For this game to succeed and continue to run, as I dearly hope, it needs to get this step right. Someone else mentioned in a different forum topic- you only get the chance to do this once. Initial release was smooth, all things considered, so remember your successes from that and apply them here. To ensure that the players drawn in from free to play remain, and HOPEFULLY SUB, their introduction needs to be INVITING and NOT PUNITIVE. (Sorry I went caps crazy on this post- just for emphasis.)
