Not really. It takes more effort and sometimes more skill to win in a chaotic environment without a preselected team with perfect class/gear balances and vent.

I found him! Its on the south end of the terrace with the stars leading into the temple. He is standing there writhing around with dark side energy and some master are around in a circle with light sabers out and a couple others are casting something at him.

Best solution is to just let him equip rifles and make him a ranged tank again.

And he came back more powerful when he resurrected. That was real DBZ crap there. Palp was a super sayan I guess? Why didn't he throw himself down the shaft over and over again. Why was he old if he knew he could be more powerful from resurrecting?

Who wins? Durge seems like he is unkillable by conventional methods available to Jango. Gen'dai in general seem like a super race that should have taken over the galaxy.

Obi-Wan won because of Soresu not the environment. Soresu is meant to stretch the fight out until an opening becomes vulnerable which it did and Vader lost. It doesn't matter if he was being pushed back if you can't pierce Soresu's defense then you lose. Vader was hammered by Luke who never had time to learn saber techniques to mastery. Galen Marek tears Vader to pieces in the first game in their duel. Vader resorts to trickery and underhanded tactics compared to openly facing Starkiller in the second. Had Marek been a real apprentice he would have killed Vader and claimed the title of Master in record speed for a rule of two sith.

Games can only be pulled into so many directions. This game is already being pulled in the directions of a characterful starwars game and being an MMO. Then there is the fact that this game is based on war between the empire and republic so warzones should be battlefields and world pvp should be the focus. Adding arena will pull the game into yet another direction and a long with huttball doesn't really fit in with the character of the game. If you want sterile environments where no one can interfere there are duels.

The same could be said for striking a key.

And it still doesn't require a 1/4 of the amount of brainpower or "skill" that a game of chess does. If you are truly interested in just out-thinking someone or skill why not just play online chess at a high level? Don't tell me you need flashy graphics or sound effects to make it worth it.

Do you think before you type? QQ doesn't even make any sense outside the mind of someone that is preteen. If arena attracts people like you then the benefits to the community a lone will be worth not having it.

"Scurbs" "Baddies" "LP2" all those were made up by children and now you are running around using slang created by a child. Arena makes no sense in games that are about two factions at war. Arena came out during WoW's expansion where the two factions decided to hold hands and love eachother. Actually since you like child slang here is one for you " carebear". Arena's are for carebears who can't function in a non sterile environment without all their cooldowns and the comp of the month.

A lot of it was when people saw the lvl 50 pvp armor and that the Jedi Knight set is the worst armor ever in mmo history. The Jedi armor looks great and is in character until you hit 50 and get the spandex space samurai armor.

The imperium has been fighting off chaos, rebels, and an entire galaxy of aliens for over 10,000 years. If it could focus all its man power and navy on a single enemy it would utterly destroy them.

Really good point. A single boarding torpedo of marines would capture or destroy a ship crewed by mostly men.

I still give the edge to marines in close combat. The marine only needs to land a punch or kick to cripple a jedi. Marines also have redundant organs, heal quickly, and the armor has pain balms, stims, and helps stem bleeding(not needed since lightsabers cauterize wounds). Power weapons generate an energy field so would more than likely be able to block a lightsaber. So like power weapons in 40k a lightsaber would cut through normal armor but has a chance of being stopped by things with an energy field (terminator armor, iron halos, storm shield) The eldar are comparable to jedi and they rightly fear the adeptus astartes. This is without taking into account Primarchs and the God Emporer of mankind.

I agree but right now looking like a robot with everyone else is much better than being part of the spandex samurai club.

I started off republic then saw the Knight 50 pvp gear and instantly rerolled my pre-release character. Until they either change that horrid space samurai armor or allow us to pull out the armoring mod I won't be playing republic.

Is it in this game or the other old republic games? Please expand on this.
