  1. Day one the site went live to save names.... also, 13 plus build one of the lucky first beta testers a LONG time ago.. pink boots and all. Yeah the game has shifted and yes, seeing almost everyone from the beta over a year and a half gone now sucks. I have pretty much given up hope... maybe F2P will be better who knows... this last event was bad... real bad. NOT like the Rak event. Sadly without the content and so on... standing in fleet is boring so I canceled. Very sad I did it... friends all left the game... people leaving in droves that I know... one big bummer for sure.
  2. Oh and they need to bring back Nar Shadda as a hangout lol... Man that was fun seeing other factions there and the GTN and all the vendors like fleet has. We need that back...!!! gah....
  3. This was not pre-order this was -- for some of us that knew someone or actually signed up in the first hour of the site in it's pre-design days and start of the game, in a working model. Not the last month prior to launch.. I am talking a whole year prior to that. I would say there was about- 500-1000 of us tops back then. Two servers, actually then 4 if I recall two elsewhere and two here... THEN they merged us somehow, or actually deleted our servers... then made two new ones -- pvp and pve , HK47 was mine. In the end the regret should be on us few then and the dev team then maybe.. managment that is now gone not sure. It is not a matter of "BLAME", if anything it was a matter of maybe we should have all talked more. Our feedback sucked.. I look back and wish now we did a better job. We should have stood up and posted like 10 times.. END GAME NEEDS HELP... not just one thread with some of us saying "Yes it does!"... I think all the people involved back then were doing a good job, make no mistake but input was key and really.. some of that could have been on us.. them etc.. Dak you are the man too man... As for the few of us year plus testers left... We may have not helped, not taking blame or anything but man.. I sure do regret not voicing more of what we thought could have happened. As for the few that did yell about end game and keeping certain things... I myself am sorry for not paying closer attention for sure. From the way we used to be able to mod our clothes and items, to summoning, to end game content being weak at best. --Lesson learned for sure.
  4. Yep that is the point... but as I said above... people are shocked to hear we actually had a group summoning tool. Sure it was buggy but everything was buggy. YES -- the old gear customing system was wild... everything was covered. Augments now... is kinda funny because we had all of this already. (for the most part). But just being able to warp or go right to where your friends are (not like fleet pass) or whatever... this was not that. And END GAME... I agree with some of the few testers left here... we messed up and did NOT push this issue enough. Looking back we really did. I think they should tell everyone how many color crystals are really in the game... not what there is avl..... I remember that list being silly. All in all, seeing how the game has changed I cannot say it has all gone well. Sad but true. I think a lot of people would have liked beta version over what we have now.. that is the sad part.
  5. No it was a train wreck ... in fact it hurt so much it was insane. GCW -- leader was a moron and wanted to focus all his power on nerfing Jedi ... not thinking it out in the form of... maybe we should just leave jedi alone in a whole. -- Sooooo much missinformation in those threads it was unreal. --- One of the biggest mistakes ever in the game actually. THINKING people, that were emo they didnt have a Jedi or get something could be in charge of any input. Skewed that whole mess was.
  6. Agreed but looking back today I really really wish we were more focused and really were more vocal about some things. Regret big time.
  7. Well see, there is some things we should have really said we needed to stay in game. Some things we blew so bad... I mean really bad. For instance.. here's one. Summoning tool -- *Testers remember that?* See we actually had a group summoning button thing... (The emote while sooooo silly looking was "You as a char using ... get this... Airplane Signal Flash lights like you were landing someone".. I kid you not. I am not making this up. lol.. BUT it was in game... so know this was a semi-working concept in game that could have actually been a ideal tool needed... for groups, guild helping and so on. If you just think about that -- or knowing that was in game long ago and then removed... you have to wonder, while we all said -- "WHY?" they chose something else.. but think about how nice that would have been world wise. Here is another: GTN, well this was a mess... so that everyone knows.. and I will rat the Dev team out.. IT WAS WORKING AMAZING and was 50 times better in beta then any version of it now. While it may have had some issues I would have thought starting over was bad.. *Not to say it was like the other guys but -- IT WAS LIKE THE OTHER GUYS... * meaning it was actually smart and good. No joke.. it was a good concept and function. ALSO GET THIS>.. IT WAS ON ALMOST ALL THE PLANETS! I mean why take that away? It was useful... Simple things looking back they should have kept in the game they took out... and really it did no good at all. These are just a couple.... there is more... but yeah I could go on for a while of what we could have had vs what we got.
  8. Sorry to say it but man I wish we had the time machine... I almost feel a tad guilty now... I know (what is left) of the first beta testers we should be beat on some, but in the same token we were hoping for it all to work as well. I do not deny I am sad to see the game go F2P -- I am sad to see people that helped build the game be let go. It is sad to see ALL this anger and frustration. Almost 2 years ago... (man longer then I thought) Some of us were lucky to start playing the game.. help it and give input. We had like two servers... lol total. Less anger more questions and answers but we had communication at times at least.... NOT all the time but some. I know there is NOT a lot of the first group people left, where we just kept leveling 50s in a month each month and a half or so to only see them deleted for us to start over... The regret we should have is NOT being louder in the end game issues if there was anything we should have done looking back is we should have made more of a stink about end game content and what we could do. It seemed like we were so focused on testing what was broken we lost our idea of what will happen later... So to all those (And there was a few of you guys) that kept asking "HEY what are we going to do when we are 50 , we need to see more end game content.. give us pre-mades (For those of you still around lol... YOU remember how that worked out LOL... level 42s in like level 35 greens and no credits.. (if that worked) what credits you had they didnt train the chars so you had to spend it on that lol)... Again, - I wish we had pushed that issue now looking back... to those that wanted to, sorry - you were right. Plain fact. I mean sure we all wanted to see it but we didn't push it we were worried about the pixel or pink pants or boots or this "DEFAULT" skin on something. Our communication was not the best and that was where we failed this game. Sad but true. Isky
  9. As one of the first beta testers I can tell you while sure they let people go... after the game gets established this one had nothing to do with that. The sad part about this... and this is the kicker, I Love this game.. I have spent a lot of time in it and want it to do very well. Call me a fan yes... The long and short of it is, these people they have let go or have quit.. will not HELP this issue. I am a fan boy and I can say that and be ok with it. Anyone that thinks this is ALL OK and all will be fine is fooling themself. This sucks, he was a decent Dev and losing these devs like we have in the last couple months is not good. Some ok... not as many as we have and WHO we have. Say all you want those people loved the game too and wanted it to be great.. do not think they didn't. I think there is issues but it can be saved for sure. Sad part is.. I am still a huge fan and somewhat clouded as to what has happened. None the less it is sad and not positive. There is no spin they can use for this one, - not really at all. I almost hope to see some sincere info on all of this soon.
  10. I know we had a very small amount this time last year... months before launch.. Now I can only imagine there is even less. It is sad to see people leave that I know put a lot of effort into the game and seeing people actually think to bash them is the right thing to do once they leave. Well, I can tell you that it is a false thing to think they didn't care about the work they did. Foolish. I hope the few mods.. (you women) know who you are stick around to see the game move forward. It is starting to get a bit odd around these space ports. All you old testers... whoever is left.. hold tight lol.
  11. I say make it NAR SHADDA like the old beta days GO GO!!! Dueling and being able to talk to Op Faction fun...lol
  12. Its funny but I wonder how many of the oldest beta testers are left now... Or who knows what Khem Val really was at first...lol Gear wise.. I wont forget that Aim gear he had..lol So many things have changed, so I do not even think we can guess what HK can have. --- I hope it is not some 4 min quest to get him and ruin the fun though.
  13. Shadow Hand... one of the first in 10 from pre-launch ftw. Ahh how I miss HK-47 (yes the server)...lol
  14. Sadly this is the right answer. While sure... you did this... It's not exactly a problem.
  15. Flawed Logic FTL... At this point you stack.. you do not push majority to light. You cap what you can overall or at least get close to it so many more have a good experience THEN you capitalize on that and fill as you go. -- You hope that is..lol
  16. The only thing that is FACTUAL really, is the sincere part of Ried losing his job. I dare say and agree he was a BIG part of SWTOR and really a main FACE we saw and were seeing as part of the product.. GOING back to the start of the small beta over a year ago. The rest is fodder, but the fact does remain they cut a lot of jobs from people they claimed at the start would be around for the long haul. I feel -- NOW they will push James Ohlen into the mix more and the better get a face to tie the product to because people need and like that. I really love the game, but know it is lacking and we just need to hope and push it into getting adjusted to help us.
  17. Nope I like the idea its wide open....lol That old saying.... Be careful what you wish for...
  18. Two sides.. Sad part is, if we had the community that was meant to be here =- this tool would not be needed. However the mistake, right now from the start seems to have been making too many servers. If there is any chain reaction that started a lot of the issues that would be it. Making it so you can random pug instead of working with the community changes a game.. as it did WoW. It made instances empty and lifeless... you go in to get a item of gear and some get out before it's even over. All things considered, I rather see something else in place then that tool.
  19. Get the glass... as a positive spin, it sucks. I say have a shot for em' But as far as what is still being worked on, sure they can't throw out all that bath water for sure. The game still has life by all means, I love it still play it raid and so on. BUT..... and I say this with candid intent... BUT... there is worry in the air and rightfully so. At no way did I expect to see people getting axed so soon. No way was this predicted that is for sure. They will find someone with different shoes and add more job titles sure... but in the end.... people are still removed that I think cared. Sucks..
  20. Here is the thing... first off-- anytime someone loses a job in this project so soon, there is NOT a positive spin to it. Unless the people were names and people we never seen or heard from , then it would not be so bad to the extent those would have been predicted and launch team temp only. This is different, this is part of the team that made it what they have now... or lucky to have now perse. Sadly seeing Reid lose his job is one that should make you go.. "Crap".... that was a guy that was knee deep in it for us and the product. This is cutting losses and nothing more. They are now removing people down to a viable core to keep the product going. UNDERSTAND, I love the product and would not post this if I was not worried. I dumped a lot of time and fun into this product and it is having issues too soon. Do not think once that those people that are gone now did not care about the game, us or the product. Trust me they did... they helped make it. (With direction) of course. This is the nature of the beast sadly and no good will come from it. Sure, things can change, but as far as "GOOD" perse I do not see it as true. Isk -
  21. As a long time player going back to early pink boots... beta missing walls way back a year ago now plus.. I will seeing some of those people let go from EA/swtor team. I have to say I didn't see this coming so soon. EA and Mr. Ohlen I sure hope you know what you are doing sir. Sometimes thinking you can remove thought to gain insight CAN backfire. I really hope the team knows more then what we see. There is not a lot of the old beta testers left and that should tell you all something. When there was only about 1000 of us. On two servers and we didn't even know much... Looking back, wish you had let us see more endgame or let us get there faster... one or the other. I almost feel guilty for not being able to level to 50 in two weeks back then to play two weeks at 50... 4 weeks then wipe hurt the endgame content testing. Say all you want the people that are being let go, only did what they thought the direction should be and was directed to do. I hope those people land on their feet and have success. Pink boots for all of you guys... thanks for the effort and so on.. Isk
  22. So all the people saying this that or the other about how PRO another company is.... know that they TOO have huge issues on launch day and or around that for sure. I am almost glad to see B*** have issues with D* due to the fact people assume everyone is perfect. SWTOR will get there, it just needs some time. *I too hope for server transfers soon though.. that is for sure*
  23. MMPORG sucks... and really - those guys are sooo backwards. They gave the old SWG a worst MMO of the year like 4 times in a row... but the people hated hearing how bad it really was and the people that said that to them over and over. It was like a denial there about how bad that game was but they could not ignore the votes it got for the worst MMO once the NGE hit. So ironic. So with this game, I have no doubt they do not stand behind what any of the votes or people would say.
  24. This goes back to some of the first MMOs -- for some odd reason, people expect the game mechanics to revolve around them vs you revolving around them. Simply put -'THIS WAS PART OF THE GAME"... not like a debate, or change or grief or any other goal. This was and is part of the game, 95% of the people were fine with it and enjoyed it. There will always be that one person in any event that does not like it. If they remove the personal aspect of it and pretend it was a NPC doing it they should be fine. I mean, looking back... Bounty Hunting in SWG -- (Some Jedi cried)... why? PART OF THE GAME..! Accept it and move on or DON'T. I mean, people or even one person mad about it is silly. I am mad that dark evil sith are running around with saber colors that are really silly looking. BUT guess what - it is part of the game... so yeah...
