  1. Account Creation Date: 10.21.08 Like a lot of others, we waited years for Bioware to build a SW mmo after the demise of our beloved SWG. The original team was good, now we have 2 people left that were involved in the 2003 game Knights of the Old Republic. Thanks EA.
  2. This EA were talking about first off, I still see people refer to the devs as Bioware. Bioware designed and supported this game up until just before 2.0 at the latest. The head of the Austin studio is of course one of the originals from BG but I'd be suprised if he has longer than a 6hr day honestly. The Doctors sold the company and got almost a billion for their years of world building, character development and writing. I dont think I could turn down that type of money and be able to retire young enough to enjoy it. They brought us The BGs, Kotor, Dragon Age and Mass Effect. They are gone, so when people say Bioware these days I think of Edmonton not Austin. EA is a public company so They saw this as an IP grab for some more name brands to add to their stables. An MMO with a Lucasfilms licence. Who is developing this game these days? I am guessing interns and grads right out of college under the guidance of devs from other (failed) MMOs. Didnt Austin absorb the Warhammer Online people? If you've been here as long as a lot of us have, we've noticed that the content to bug ratio has gone from acceptable to game-breaking. A wave of people got banned from the game for bug exploiting? I would think EA Austin would have shut down the content and prioritize fixes instead of leaving it running and expecting people to behave? Might as well ask anonymous people on the internet to refrain from trolling. Hey then lets punish them for our mistakes and faulty coding. Its very draconian. I wanted to speak about the coms and gear problems were all experiencing but its pretty clear to me that there is not very much internal symmetry in design and systems these days. We are losing subs pretty fast so the question becomes; does EA care?
  3. Happy holidays factors and non-factors alike.
