  1. Got 78, Asking 500k Per or 38 Mil for bundle. Contact Kryatal
  2. One comment on PVP is if you are trying to avoid being smashed don't be near other players. If you notice their defensive buff up there are a few things you can do. Neural Surge and run. Cryo Grenade and run Wait to use your shield until after they have force leaped Use Full auto instead of HIB It's a lot for anyone to deal with right now, use adrenaline rush to help get some health back. The tree i use for PVP is this http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801hMhZMsMRRrfodsZb.2 You get massive aoe reduction, increased reduction if you are stunned, your AOE slows the enemy, and you are melee anyway so a good gut can go a long way.
  3. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601rcrRzrskbZZf0cRd.2 This is the build I use, I also have found a great use out of more of the KC tree. Being able to heal yourself at extended range (shadow pvp armor with extra force potency charge) I don't use kinetic ward simply because of our standard defenses being quite high, also the ability to cloak helps a lot.
  4. yeah a lot of productive things for PVE, I do like that our HIB won't hit a floating target makes it great for those Flashpoints! I don't like explosive surge though. I guess we were a litlle over powered when it comes to defense/offense ratio
  5. Well I for one and upset in our new way of Ion Cell. To be short it is a straight PVE spec, that means running DPS Assault on the side. The HIB Cell proc is useless. We aren't an AOE Class, buffing our weak/over ammo cost AoE was pretty Dull. I know my overall DPS is suffering now. Survivability isn't that great either given we don't have a way to really fight back anymore. I would like feedback from other Vanguard tanks and your thoughts because as is I'm having a hard time figuring out why I shouldn't shelf my VG
  6. So I have seen a lot of people posting about tanks and how hard of a time they seem to be having. I want to give my input to you guys and update ya on what I have found out! First off Here are my stats (PVP) Aim 1736 End 1935 EXP 303 Damage 674-827 Accuracy 96.67 Crit 17.25 Health 22071 Armor 8469 Redux 52.95 Def 9.09 Shield 44.58 Absorb 48.50 Active Buffs, Rakata Aim Stim and Trooper Endurance buff (that is all) My Skill Tree is 31/7/2 Noticeable Difference in my build is I do not have the Increase in Ioncell Damage Dot or Neural Overload (speed redux on Ion Cell) I have Armor Increase, Ion Pulse shield, aim increase. In the tactics tree I took 2 in damage reduction (straight stat) and did not take ion cell Dot INcrease. the 2 points in assault are SS Damage. Average DPS on a 3rd Party DPS meter is 800+ on a stationary/semi stationary target Why this build works for me: -Tools at my Disposal Harpoon Gun This weapon alone gives you an edge. Your goal is to pull the guy trying to smash your healer to bits. Many a times You can use this to pull someone down off a cliff and isolate him/her and go toe to toe. In PVE this is also a HIGH THREAT GENERATING ABILITY while it won't pull Karraga to you, you can most certainly open with it then use storm to push your threat gen to insane levels. Storm High threat gen ability, this gets us where we need to go. You can respond to a push from a juggernaught by storming if he is slow on the key. you can go into the pit on huttball wait for respawn and jump up scoring in under 15 seconds. IT INTERUPTS CASTERS. If your interupt is on CD and they are about to cast (or are casting a long one) Back up instantly and mash your button to get storm off and Interupt again Taunts Player damage reduction? Stop that marauder cold and give your healers a break with these. They do a little but go a long way. Shield This is about timing folks. If you use your shield when you first run into battle your going to die. Its an easily visible, easily controllable move if you do it on your opponents terms. Smoke Grenade A major counter to juggernaughts and other in your face classes. Chances are after reading this you will begin to get better. When you get better you get focused. When you get focused you need to flick everyone off with your smoke grenade and continue as normal! Neural Surge Smoke grenades partner in crime. This soft stun Mauls Marauders, Stops Snipers, Shocks Sorcerers, and Knocks Juggernauts. In short this is your key in a tricky situation. If you need to stop an attack, get ganked from behind. This gives you enough time to haul out of there with a vent or pit, thus leaving them to choose to pursue or disengage. Things You need to know as a tank You are not here to Kill everything but you can, you do this by surviving. Understand a tanks role is normally pretty boring but this class is oversighted. and I believe is the most OP class in the game. Your Enemy The following situations will go toe to toe, beggining to end on how to fight different opponents including bosses! The Marauder: He leaps ->Activate sheild relic He buffs and does his thing Respond with a stock strike****not shield****a good marauder will wait till you pop shield to choke you or knock you down and wait to buff later. Use Ion pulse to get your damage redux up(stacking with the shield relic) Pop your Crit ability and power adrenal. Use Energy Blast early so the CD is up when you start to use more ammo. When you see him use his buff (there is a visual) use cryo grenade, he will unlock it/ use neural surge. It is at this time with your defensive relics no longer active you activate your rakata stim, and adrenaline rush. This increases your ticks for AR. Use shield and keep ion Pulse Up. Stock strike every time/HIB the rest is pretty easy. When he uses his ability to reduce damage by 99% Use a sticky/ionpulse/pulse cannon/energy blast, anything that will not be affected by armor. Keep your dot on him. He will heal butrn down and Die. The Sorcerer If the sorcerer happens to be focusing on healing use your 5 interupts to your advantage!!!!! 1. Harpoon Interupt him, he will push you back 2. Storm Interupt Him, he will stun you 3. Break Stun (if needed) and Use your Interupt 4. He will run, useNeural Surge when you here his Force Runa ctivate. 5. He will be going crazy at this point, Use Cryo grenade. 6. Interupt is back up and Storm is back up Rinse and repeat from there (harpoon is unlikely to come back up) In this midst of those use your attacks as you see fit, SS/HIB/Energy Blast Just watch your ammo and keep your eye on the prize. Damage sorces run basicually the same way but you only need to interupt their lightning. otherwise respond to lightning with Full auto or mortar volley, channeled abilities will force them to move or respond. Generally open with Full auto and use mortarvolley if its interupted or they move.Save harpoon for if they run though. The Operative These are just a tank ans spank. Use your shield/AR/Rakata Stim combo mentioned earlier Stay mobile and pull/storm them like crazy. A operative that can't keep their footing is a dead operative. Juggernaught These guys are currently a joke, again just a tank and spank. The Bounty Hunter Mirror: Hope to god your skills are more refined then theirs. Use your tools, remember to use only element attacks, respond to DFA with storm. and you will come out on top DPS Mirror: Survive, the DPS vanguard/PT are based on non-elemental attacks. Your shields will keep you up through the worst, but use your AR early, you will be alive long enough for it to repop to use with the rakata stim. Merc: Pull/storm interupt a merc just like you would a sorc, but keep your distance to about ion pulse range, they have to move in to rocket punch you or spam TM, just interupt it by popping in and out. Tactics to pratice: Distance and Spacing. Work on being around 1-2 meters inside your Ion Pulse Range. This gives you an easy time to respond with SS when it pops for shields, kiting, neural surge and keeps the enemy on your turf. Don't let them get comfortable by staying still. Watch for your CD's with a high shield chance you will get SS a lot, this will really come with practice though! When opening for a boss Use your Harpoon Gun to keep threat if you get knocked back and Storm is down. ideally for opening on a boss do this 1. Harpoon 2. Storm 3. Neural Jolt (taunt) You only need to use your AOE taunt if you loose agro for a split second, just keep using your jolt and you should be fine. Respond with what you guys think! or if it helps you any!
  7. as a republic trooper/vanguard you can't wear bounty hunter armor as of yet
  8. I leveled as a tank just fine. Be sure to keep Jorgan outfitted and he will DPS everything while you hold agro... Aim/crit/surge won't work for a tank at endgame but for leveling I could see it being viable. You would want to go with Shield>absorb>aim(or con) Stack what your tree focuses on man you aren't here to put out 100000k in a warzone, your here to survive the whole match without dying
  9. Well I really can't justify power/surge/crit as a suppercommando. The problems you run into as a Tank Tree is you are meant to surive. Your damage will increase with the more points you put into that survival. We don't have a burst but sustained damage. If you start making yourself more squishy by removing mods and refocusing you are just better off with a DPS class. I run Shield/Absorb/aim or con. It does wonders since maruaders can't burn me down fast, given i can't match their burst I can survive theirs and tear through them with SS/ioncell and a whole lot of ion
  10. IMO don't use defense when you use augments. Use power/crit/aim or even CON, having more health always helps a healer in the long run.
  11. you really need to look at your spec, I run 31 sheild and have a ball going against maruaders. Now it will be 50/50 on if i win or not but you have to know what to look for. If they pop their buffs remember you can do a few things. 1. Neural Surge, great short stun that doesnt kill ya in the long run. 2. Cryo Grenade another stun that you should use 3. Shield/Absorb Relic (this really boosts you) 4. Sheild/HoT/Rakata Stim(use the rakata in wz because of the health boost increases your ticks from your HOT) If you use those in that order you can slow down your enemy enough to survive and get a party member or two to help you out. I can easily survive against marauders long enough for reinforcements or to hold 1v1 and it be a close match. They are not OP, practice your class and start seeing what your doing wrong.
  12. I want to see the ability to pull friendlies with our harpoon. (make it a skill tree box)
  13. Hey guys I am a day 1 vanguard for SWTOR and just wanted to throw in my 2 cents for vanguards in the PVP life. Stats for damages are all over these forums so I don't need to go into specifics. We will Star with the Tank Tank Build/Shields PVP (includes variations) http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801GoGrborogzZMcbZ0c.1 Benefits from this build are currently rather sparse. There are however a great deal of items in which i believe many people look over. The White attacks are actually more common than we think. Sure people have many attacks that bypass shields due to the type of damage, however snipers, tracer missile, lightning (energy attack), basic attacks, rail shots, and many others are affected by shields. You will find it rather hard not to be shielding quite a bit with a lot of damage reduction making you aprime target for more zerg and thus more shielding. No one in this game is invincible but this build gets you there. Ontop of that the 4% damage reduction from spec and additional 4% damage reduction on Static Field knocks out 80 Damage of Every 1000. Because you will be stacking Con, adrenaline rush also heals you for much much more. a 16k Person Healed for 15% maximum health, is healed for less than a 23K Health person at the same percent. While the increase is proportionally the same, the incoming damage is much less on a higher health person if the incoming damage is the same. In PVP your survivability is what is your shining, You can hold a point by yourself long enough or your team to come help reinforce. You can take damage for a healer being Focused and still live through it. This is what Makes tanks so great, even if shields/absorb are not what we want them to be. Remember white attacks are everywhere. Your energy Regen is also relativly high with BM gear Suppercommando. (reduction in both energy shot and storm) and a 5% increase in damage while guarding a player (wow straight damage jump?) Try this out and see how you do. Remember you aren't in it for the damage your there to take it. The Iron Fist-(this is my variant so as not to copy) http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801GRG0boroMZrcrroZb.1 This is probably the best PVP Spec as far as damage vs. Defense goes, if you need any info just look at the sticky at the top of the forum! The reduction in the interrupt, the defense, Dots, and other gizmos is what makes this set shine with the BM Combat Tech armor set. I really don't need to go into detail but in a 1v1 you will win 90% of your matches if you are smart, react correctly and don't burn your ammo. The tatics Build with HEC http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801hMhZMsMrorfkdsZb.1 Again this is just a personal variation but generally similar to what you see. Damage isn't as burst as it is in assault but is much, much more consistant. Instant cell every 6 seconds, free Stock Strike, Crit hit HIB, and a nice dot bleed that isn't reduced by armor and is increased by HEC. In a 1v1 you will have more close calls, but can always come out on top. Ammo is easy to get away with and Hold the Line keeps you Kiting. Ion PUlse can be devastating in a zerg group stunned by your 2 second (because of BM) neural surge. Great for Huttball, or as a buddy DPS/Support system (when you need more of this and that then just DPS). The variation to this is to use Ioncell for the extra defense, which is just as good! Great when you are in big battles against Aoe's and can't sustain damage like in HEC. Your DPS Drops but staying alive longer is sometimes the best. The Assault Build http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801hMhZMsMrorfkdsZb.1 Straight forward DPS and Good DPS. 4k Crits with HIB (and thats normal semi-geared) Dots that wreak HAVOC and enough DPS to make the death star look like a toy gun (say what???). Anyway, livability is Null but in a group where you can be guarded, taunt-protected, and heal focused, you can blow through almost anything with a path of fire behind you. Looking at all of the above it really seems to me that vanguards are the top class in this game. They do anything you want besides healing, so not sure what you want to do? Go vanguard!
  14. something that might help fill you in..... The stats Shield, Absorb, and Defense only work for certain abilities. (IE your basic shots, weapon damage, or kinetic/energy) BH's have fire and we have elemental, these go right through shields, negating shields and absorb right off the bat. I'm not fully knowledged on defense, but it plays a small role compared to Crit Rating, Power, and Surge. Building your PVP tank means you need to be here, there, everywhere, and dish out damage and a steady pace. Your interrupt CD is imperative to go against healers. The combat tech increase for Stock strike, and Neural Surge (your area 5 man stun) is better than the 4 peice bonus for suppercommando (increase to PVP damage 5% when guarding a player). So looking at just those the DPS route is what fits best for your PVP role. That doesn't mean you won't have 9% damage reduction (if specced) a killer stock strike. Great HIB shots, good elemental Damage. and good ammo rotations (its easy and only if you are fighting big battles will you drain ammo).
  15. Hey guys want to let you know for gencon this year I am building myself a set of Champion Combat Medic armor for Troopers! I have started the helmet building a cast, however i ran out of clay so i will resume that when my next shipment arrives. I will post my progress pictures soon!
  16. anyone have any idea? I tried testing but it was kind of hard to keep track between the auto-ammo regen and the 6 second trigger with High energy Cell.
  17. Does it tick ever 6 seconds from the point when the cell is enabled, or does it tick once you use Cells (starting a 6 second delay after your first move
  18. if you are not the owner of the story nothing contributes to your quest line during an instanced area
  19. this is because only one person is the hero in the story, you are a companion, a friend come to help. when you re-run you are now the hero and roles are reversed. If they changed this the game would be one giant flashpoint
  20. guys if you look at the stealth scan root you have to put 15 points into the skill tree before you can even use those points (2) to make it 100% chance to root. If you want to trigger your stealth scan 100% (not an actual tested number) you have to put 10 points to use 2 more to increase stealth detection to maximum. The builds on this do not mix and you waist points on useless boxes one way or another http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801GMhMdMZbc0MZfhMrd.1 There is a build that opens up all of your abilities to their lowest possible cooldown, the build is PATHETIC, and unplayable. Roots as a vanguard help us tank enemies, stop down spies, and protect our healers from insta death. CC breaking is a similar story. If we are in your face you shouldn't be able to effectively cast lightning, so we put our rifle in your face and your move is broke, we smashed your hands so it takes a second for you to try and cast lightning again...There is no unfair if someone is on you ask for help, push them, CC, or use many other tricks to get away if yours are on CD fight the good fight use packs, trinckets, and whatever tricks you have to survive
  21. Just as a general thought, i would like harpoon to affect allies. It gives us a much more tactical advantage as we could guard, save healers, pull for objectives, all while pulling enemies off cliffs!
  22. while the healing is reduced by 30% having it at only 10% less (i think we get up to 20% expertise) is still a lot given that healers can pump out good healing with the trauma buff up. However there is no counter to the counter of expertise (IE no increase in heal reduction on offensive moves)
