  2. guess you can't please everyone huh?
  3. Hey gang, finished my little mini series of Star Wars vs Star Trek. It's my imagining of what will happen when the two of our galaxies collide in the distant future and both fight for control and domination. Hope yall enjoy! (got some neat stuff in the shop on my site too) oh, and sorry about the watermarks. 4. you... slow your roll!! making the rest of us slowpokes look bad! >)
  5. aren't they "technically" doing mergers with the super server thing?
  6. awesome stuff! glad to see this added to the swtor site! For next time... might I suggest some webcomics... (like the link below... hint hint!) >D
  7. really wish there were day/night cycles as well. and weather!
  8. oh man! you probably never played wow, but they were awful with their icon to actual gear looks! like, the icons were almost never what you got. buuuut I will say that for the most part, swtor has done a good job of matching em up. I'd hit up a GM or something with the bug though.
  9. wait... they ARE fixing things... so they ARE listening to players. if you'd like to donate a few bucks to hire on more developers then go ahead. but you can't rush projects for mmo scales. either be patient and enjoy yourself, or just leave and get over it. we'll see how things work with d3... but that's not exactly an mmorpg... so the same can be said for all mmos like wow and even regular games... since every single person on earth will be playing that one game, right?
  10. look at the start of wowcraft, it had a SIMILAR subscriptions hiccup in approximately the same period of time as swtor. Look at THIS GRAPH: follow the wow west and swtor west... both shoot up to around 2mil then drop down by 100-400k. probably because of people like in these forums that naysay and complain. they'll go away, the company will continue to make improvements, and they'll probably come back... to complain about something else.
  11. With the server transfers, will there be options for faction changes as well as race/gender/looks? I'd personally LOVE to be able to convert my Jedi Knight to a Sith Warrior. Even paid it would be nice.
  12. I can probably cook an egg on my laptop while playing this game on low settings. >(
  13. personally, I don't think the rails is a problem... but I think the space combat could do so much more. maybe in a separate system like a "pvp" type mode (keeping the pve on rails), you could have an open space (ha) with outer limits that cause exhaustion. I think a few games that would be nice would be something like escort missions or even just a single all out brawl where you have to attack the enemy mothership. First ship to fall is the loser. I guess they could take some tips from Battlefront, but I think there are plenty of warzone type encounters that are viable. heck, even some group pve combat raids would be nice too!
  14. yeah, not sure how they plan on implementing it in the wows, but at least swtor is set up pretty well to handle the transitions. and yeah, would be nice to world pvp again.
  15. Just saw a posting over at Joystiq about "some other game" moving towards a cross-realm zone format. Basically, this means something similar to our planetary "maps" where when one fills up, the another is made. For them, it means combining or inviting players so low population servers won't see ghost towns anymore. MANY games have done this (off the top of my head I can only pull Forsaken World, but anything Perfect World made probably has the same thing) and it really makes it nice to have large populations to play in. So... on to SWTOR! I can see this easily (well, the concept is easy, the programming not so much) applied to our game as all the zones are instanced anyways! Planets, ships, dungeons, raids... all of them instanced. Now, we all cried and complained initially that the worlds were so small and the zoning in was unnatural feeling... well... It's time we start using that to our advantage! We can still have our "realms", but if we merge the zoning, then we can potentially have the population of multiple realms all smunched into one! Lag can be controlled with the flexible additions of "maps" or worlds on the same zone and being able to switch between them. Communication across the realms is also key, so that needs to be addressed. Long story short... I think it's a great idea... "that other game" has suffered the same low populations on many worlds as well and this is their big fix. Maybe we need to start paying attention and incorporating some of those ideas! (except doing away with skill trees... I like my trees ty!) >D Anyways, here's a link to the article if you are wondering.
  16. good point! but that doesn't mean they couldn't have a "christmas" on Coruscant!!! so instead of having it on every planet, just one during the earthen one. like having our holidays on a variety of planets. heck, they could just make up all kinds of holidays. actually, looking at the wookiepedia, it seems like there is a whole host of holidays already! even one for winter! and it seems that there's some sort of galactic calendar as well. Check em out!
  17. why not? almost every culture has some sort of winter solstice celebration! and one for fall, spring, and summer (sometimes). some things are kind of universal.
  18. or you know a meal is good when everybody's mouths' are too full to talk... something like that. I'm assuming they keeping things under wraps so that they don't start getting people in a hype frenzy. I doubt they're going to be giving themselves too much off time since the more they produce, the more subscriptions they'll get. in either case, lets just wait a little longer... I'm sure good things are coming! >D
  19. on the bright side, repair costs are much lower!
  20. yes, but SW lore says they don't emit heat unless they touch something so... might not be plasma. who knows though, maybe someday we'll get some better physics and be able to make something like them! XD
  21. perhaps if there was some sort of "LFThread tool" for them... XD seriously, spamming gen chat isn't socializing. asking to get into a group, while is social, isn't socializing. the "can I play with you guys" isn't the socializing part... it's the actual playing together. and anything that helps to facilitate that better, I'm all for.
  22. lol, cause having non mirrored classes worked great for wow right? Chess's right man, you gotta mirror them if you want any kind of balance.
  23. sadly torhead has yet to get a decent 3d modeling of the items... this makes me sads. >(
  24. such a baby! 5 years ago I bought a computer for like $1500, not it's worth probably nothing! When do I get my check for the difference?! lol!!! XD man, people are crazy... things go on sale, you can't get too bent out of shape over it. just look at computers at bestbuy or whatever, every week it's something else on sale. if you try to wait it out for the best price, you'll never get anything! Bozo's right though, you ain't gettin' nothing dude, just give the store props for the markup and move along.
