  1. SP pretty much replace KI yes, but KI is a decent heal untill you can pick up SP. Fast cast and cost 20 energy, not 30. This is situational. The only bad part about this spell is the very limited range.. otherwise its fine. Compared to sorc's aoe heal it fels balanced.. both have pros and cons.
  2. You have range abilites in cover.. outside it you have only corrosive dart and the grenade that have any real range.
  3. Im not sure this will be the case. After 100% hit its reverted to "armor piercing"... this is a stat that always been a insane DPS stat couse it scale so well with iself.. the more you add the better it becomes, unlike crit for example.. the more crit you add the more dimished it becomes. For ArP its the other way around.
  4. It has failed me serveral times aswell. Ive been close to wipes becouse of this since i just heal in my concelment spec most of the time and are extremly dependable on getting my casts of.. Once you spec healing you wont notice it as much since you roll HoT's and SP most of the times..but its pain to have it fail you when you really needs it, something that should be fixed ASAP by bw.. in raids we will have to cast a great deal.
  5. The discussion wasnt really about SP being good or not, since we all can agree its a awesome ability. The discussion was about picking the DS talents. But i will reply to your post nevertheless. I can somewhat understand what you wanna point out but im afraid its wrong. Your basing your arguments on that the raid will be at 30% thus saving energy by using SP...If you continusly have your raid at 30% your healers are doing a terrible job to start with, but even so.. when you used SP you heal like what, 5% of their hp ? So now they are at 35% are you just gonna leave them there ? no that would be very unwise, so now you have to heal 65% of their total HP with abilites that do cost energy, and end up far far more expensive then try to keep high from the start with energy costing abilites. A resonable aim would be to keep your raid above 90%, then healing wont be much of an issue, ofc that is not always possible. But to let players drop to below 30% just to save energy isnt very smart since most boss fight have some mechanic that can randomly "eat" 30% or more.. with some bad timing you end up with a dead player. Most raiders wont be "allowed" to drop so low by healers with raid experience, thus making surgical precision fairly pointless.. and by all rights. Optimaly you will never have to make use of that talent. Its nice, but its nothing gamebreaking at all. If a boss does aoe that eats 50% of everyone HP you will have to heal everyone up with energy costing abilites and probably dip your energy pretty low.. will you then just stand there to regen or will you use DS to speed it up?
  6. First of all this is wrong. You dont "regain" any energy by using SP.. its a free heal render your energy regen normalised. Dont confuse those 2 differences, its like saying /afk is a energy regen command since you gain energy... a completly invalid argument. Most OP's you have talked to havent healed a raiding enviroment.. the lvling procedure is almost close to non-existan in many regards regarding "healing experience". Let me share my XP when i lvled my priest in WoW. During the whole time i lvled via instances and was a disc healer. From lvl 15-80 the ONLY 2 spells i used during those lvls where my shield and my HoT.. i didnt need more. When i jumped in my first raid do you think my shield and my HoT was enough ? ofc not... its the same thing here, you compare and advice on your lvling experience thus forgetting the fact a raid enviroment is completely different. No its useful every time. Im not sure you know how to use if efficiently but the trick is to "weave" it in during your normal rotation, thus giving you a energy advantage to eliminate any risk of ever dipping to low. Your "alternate-resource" require TA that procs every 6 sec earliest.. during that time you could weave in some DS if you spamed KI abit. The main problem wich i starting to se with almost all your arguments is you base your energy regen arguments on you always will be over 60 energy.. this wont be the case and all hardcore raiders and experience raiders know this will never be the case. In a perfect world you can always maintain 60 or above.. but in a perfect world no one ever wipes either. When **** hits the fan it always comes down to how healers coop with the problem.. skilled healers pull through, mediocre.. perhaps not. World first heroic deathwing, those guys wiped 108 times before they killed it, considered to be amongst the best players in the world and have 6-7 YEARS of experience on endgame raiding. But you who are new to SWtoR, never raided here telling us energy wont be a problem ? **** will never hit the fan in your case... surely mate, you must realise how absurd that really sound. Those 3 seconds where you "afk" can and will mean the difference between life and death in a raiding enviroment. There will be times you will have to spam heal from 100 to 0 energy to keep everyone up, during aoe, other healers are CC, or whatever.. it will happen and you want to get back ingame ASAP after such times. at 0 energy you regen 1 per sec, 3 per 3 sec... DS will at max give 6 per 3 sec, a energy boost of 200% at that time. All in all, advicing someone to skip a useful (if used correctly) energy regen tool to take what.. completly useless garbage talents instead.. that is wrong mate, you must understand that. DS is not the best ability in the world, but it DO indirect help with healing, and thats what you should focus on as a healer.
  7. First things first. By "plan a head" i will assume your aiming for end game content and not a lvling spec nor a pvp spec. With that said you should probably filter most of the suggestions made already since some are just plain bad. This will be your endgame PvE spec with very little variation: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#401MffrzGoRdsZ0cZG.1 The only talent that you should change is Chem-inlays for Evasive imperative. The extra movement can be useful during some encounters, but overall we are a quite mobile healer with hots/SP and shouldnt really be needed. As for the DS discussion. Ignoring DS is probably one of the lesser intelligent move you can make for several reasons. I wanna start out with quoting the other guy. This is just plane wrong. After lvl 14 you wont get any new energy regen abilites, as OP is lvl 15 he already have them all. DS heal ability is extremly weak yes, but improving it with 4 points is worth every point when you need it especially when the alternative talent dont help you with healing at all and some dont even work during boss fights. You have to ask yourself, when you stand at a extremly hard boss and have used adrenaline probe and runing low... what will you do to recover energy ? Just try and use up all your energy and se how fast it recovers...it takes forever... if you ever find yourself have to heal that much to keep your party/raid up you REALLY want any help you can get to get energy above 60 again.
  8. Does this happen frequent to you ? I can honestly say i never had any problems, and i use it very often.
  9. It sure do sound like it thou. I have close to 30 keybinds and almost every slot is used and im only lvl 32.. i know atleast 4-5 more talents i have to fit somewhere on the way to 50. Open up "Only" 3 more slots would be invaluable to me.
  10. Haha me too. Had to log of for awhile and lunch/do some errands before i could make up my mind. Sure would like to explore the other options one day aswell
  11. That might be the best way to go. But this thread also serve as a information bank to anyone who wanna know what abilites might cause them trouble along the way. Also as a reminder so certain abilites dont accidently get forgotten by BW...For example "vanish in WoW is still bugged after 7 years. I hope this wont be the case in SW:TOR
  12. I think you have to elaborate on the problem abit more
  13. That is usualy server lag etc, may go so far to call it a position bug.. but that happens for everyone and is not a Operative exclusive problem, so it dont really fit amongst the OP bugs
  14. Just becouse they dont post, they do read. And im confident they will do a better job then Blizzard does. Furthermore it dont hurt to sacrifice a few minutes on this post each day, since this is hopefuly the first place BW goes to get class feedback about OP's
