  1. I can't recommend doing the side quests, because it's gets boring and repetitive, especially if you have many alts. You would be better off rolling an alt and experiencing another class story, than doing side quests. But, if you really have plenty of time to spare, go ahead and do them.. Instead of side quests, you could do Heroic quests, which are fun for it's social aspect and useful for gearing up. You can also solo lower level heroic quests for Commendations if you have trouble gearing.
  2. I'd say it's most likely due to not having healer companion, coupled with the fact that your gear is not that great. I'm playing again after 2 years of absence and I must say I struggle on my Sith Assassin, while I just ripped through content on my Jedi Shadow. I also remember struggling on my Jedi Sentinel 2 years ago, while my Sith Jugg is not having much trouble at the moment.
  3. Anyone who thinks this game is doing well is just lying to himself. Population in zones and fleet has been nothing but declining since launch. Everybody rerolling on hig populated servers is because all the other servers are doing great? I suppose that friend invites and free days are not being given because the game is doing great. Neither is EA stock plummeting because SWTOR is selling like hotcakes. I support that somebody finds this game interesting and fun, but that person has to realize, there are more and more people everyday who do not share such opinion. P.S. Using my posting privilege before my sub ends today
  4. Thanks. So in my case, it really depends on exact date when they plan to give free 30 days. If I don't get free 30 days by 19th April, then I would have to re-subscribe.
  5. This might have been answered before, so I apologize infornt, but ehre's the question: I meet the level and legacy requirements for free 30 days, however, I have cancelled subsribtion which expires on 19th April. Do I have to re-sub to get free 30 days, or my account will get free 30 days without re-subbing? Thanks in advance.
  6. I've chosen DF for leveling for the following reasons: -you get another AOE at lvl20 (shrap bomb) which paired with Thermal Grenade and Sweeping Gunfire is fantastic for clearing large pack of mobs -DOT damage is slow, but it's good for longer fights with Elite mobs, especially the high armored ones -you are not dependant on cover and are very mobile (very useful in PVP) Mind you, I have lvl50 Operative which I played as Lethality and enjoyed very much, so it was a no brainer what to play with my GS. Hope this helps.
  7. I have lvl23 DF gunslinger and my warzone matches are 200-250k damage and 40-60 kills. And we even lose most of the time due to no healers. Since lot of people are talking how weak the class is, my question would be, when does GS start to be bad?
  8. I'm leveling Kinetic/Balance shadow and it is kind of boring. I took 8 points in Balance to get Upheaval and Force Synergy and then continued with Kinetic (being lvl34 now). Downside of leveling this way is that it gets a bit boring, while being proc dependant and pretty energy starved (until you get One with the force). Upside is that you are (slowly) facerolling PVE content and are a PVP powerhouse.
  9. Marauder pros and cons: -super strong PVP class at 50 if geared properly and played perfectly, great PVE buffs -very late bloomer, needs a lot of strategizing and patience, lots of skills to be used all the time Sin pros and cons: -different play style depending on spec (tank, rogue, close combat caster) -tank spec very strong in PVP, while other specs are very squishy. Non-tank PVE specs could use a buff (personal opinion). Actually, now that I think about it, it seems to me that Sin is probably better for casual player, while marauder is better for hardcore (PVP-er especialy).
  10. Empire side, Imperial Agent is my personal favorite. Bounty Hunter, haven't palyed to 50, but 1st chapter is great, and then I lost interest in the story. Warrior and Inquisitor palyed only till 20-ish, but warrior seems more interesting. Republic side, I really liked the Jedi Knight story, while Consular story seems the worst of all. Trooper is not bad, but kind of lost interest by end of chapter 1. Smuggler story failed to intrigue me at all at early levels and thus I never managed to play it more. TLDR: for Empire, go Agent, for Republic go Jedi knight.
  11. After I've spend some nice credits on respecs, I've finally settled on this build for leveling (lvl 28 now). http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601Rcr0zZZf0c.1 I will probably further invest in the Kinetic tree now and finish as regular 31/0/10 kinetic build. The reason behind the build is that while playing Balance, I found myself questing and PVP-ing in Combat techique, due to better survivability and AOE. Dot's did not work out for me for normal mobs and rarely in PVP. On the other hand, Kinetic tree does not provide me with enough dps, so this lveling starter build get's the early juicy talents best from both Kinetic and Balance (Force Synergy, Upheaval, Particle Acceleration).
  12. Just to prepare you for inevitable, Sentinel in lower levels is mostly Medal machine for the opposing team. Whether you should favor power or crit, depends on your spec. Consider that Focus has some talents which grant you crit anyway, while Watchman favors crits because of healing. For leveling, just get the highest gear available and don't worry about details.
  13. It's very possible. I'm using xbox360 controller when playing SWTOR (and my sentinel of course) and doing just fine. I have something like 24 action skills keybinded and some others as well (map, settings, inventory etc.). Don't forget that 8 buttons on controller is actually 24, due to LT and RT modifiers. If you browse through general discussion forums, you will find a thread which explains this in more detail.
  14. You might consider Focus. Normal mobs in lvl 20's are not that hard and you can pretty much wipe them down with Sweep crits. Elites also go down nicley with Zen+Slash spam. While playing Focus spec, I've tried Watchmen several times (now lvl31) and it's just does not work for me. Bleeds don't shine on normal mobs and always feeling focus starved in PVP. Funny, Combat seems much more viable to me, PVE and PVP wise at this level.
  15. Have you tried playing with gamepad? I know it sounds like heresy, but trust me, it works great. It takes a few days to get used to though. I have 24 keybinds for spells on my gamepad (you use left and right trigger as shift and ctrl), and some more keybinds for map, inventory etc. There is a good thread on general forum about this, you might find it useful.
