  1. Of all the things that could be added or upgraded I think combat is the least of the worries. for a tab target mmo, the combat here is not that bad really
  2. Solo players don't like to improve their characters then?
  3. It's about that time when we have this thread. We haven't had this topic in a while. why do dudes play a pixelated chic in a video game? does it matter? I mean I know when I play an orc in a game, I really think I'm an orc.
  4. 0 times I can't get a group for the two instances. I've basically given up on it.
  5. Normally I'd disagree with you here on this point. But with the way EA has been dealing lately, I wouldn't be surprised if what you said comes to pass.
  6. I think a lot of complaints would go away if they allowed people to purchase the expansion with cartel coins. I have no issue really on buying the "expansion" but really we should be able to use the cash shop currency to buy it.
  7. There can be only one! Am I doing it right? Anyway, GW2's population is going to fluctuate a lot due to the payment model and how their content works, very similar to their first game when you would get 4x population spikes during the holiday events. The game is meant for that kind of drop in and out playstyle. So really you can't compare it to a standard mmorpg like SWTOR, Rift, or WoW.
  8. Oh I think it is a pretty cool chain and I like the scavenger part of it. My favorite part was on that derelict ship. Just finding groups has been a major pain.
  9. Hardest part for me has been trying to get a group for the instances. I try every night but so far no group, ah well.
  10. Agents, both AC's, and the Powertech are the lowest populated classes on the servers I play on, at least for the Empire side. I guess they aren't "Star Wars" enough for a lot of people. Folks just like the lightsabers.
  11. You must not have played many mmos then. The side quests in SWTOR are fantastic compared to some of the stuff I've played such as in Aion, Lineage 2, and others. Heck, even in LotRO I can't begin to tell you how sick I was of killing bears, boars, and wolves. I will say this though, I do wish there was more variety in the quests in SWTOR. Except for the class quests, they all feel pretty formulaic after a while.
  12. I have only completed 2 of the stories (well one, almost finished with the JK one). I thought the IA one was very good. The Jedi Knight story I fall asleep through much of it, it feels very super heroish. I suppose that's part of my problem with all of the force using class stories, too much reverence from the NPC's toward the character. The IA story felt more like overcoming the odds, I could relate more to the character.
  13. It seems very much like most other themepark mmos out there. Someone else in this thread said it right, it's a "done that already" feeling. I think veteran mmo players are just getting tired of the same old gameplay. WTB well made sandbox mmo.
  14. Bah, my sniper uses Temple almost all of the time. No need for Lokin.
  15. smoked him at level 47 with temple as my companion I'm actually having more trouble with some of the elites on Corellia than any storyline boss I've faced.
  16. I thought Hoth was great. I just wish there was a gigantic battle there like in ESB. Belsavis was ok. Better than nar shadda/coruscant, about on par with Taris for me. My favorite places, from a design point of view, are Hoth and Tatooine.
  17. I like the idea having an aoe snare with the probe. That probably doesn't make it much more useful in pve but in pvp that would be sexy.
  18. A limited stealth might be cool, kind of like the Infiltrator in Mass Effect.
  19. It doesn't seem like the movies for sure. It does feel like KOTOR though and that's how they designed it to be. However, I still was kind of hoping there would be a huge battle on Hoth with Imperial At-At Walkers and some small fighters to use against them. I know, 3000 years in the future but still, would have been an epic scene to play in.
  20. I do have to agree that the world/s are pretty darn static. I've been playing Assassins Creed (the newest one) as well and the difference couldn't be more stark. I know that AC a single player game but the difference was just amazing. Now I do think BioWare could have done better with the world such as have non static npcs, night/day cycles, differing weather patterns, some better ambient sounds, heck even clickable npcs would be a start.
  21. I have always thought mmo stories were absolute trash. SWTOR tries to do well and I did like some of the stories such as the Imperial Agent one. Still I think it has better story in an mmo than any I can think of. Not up to single player game standards but I don't think there is any way a mmo could be up to that. WoW had some decent quest chains here and there but for the most part it was utter trash from a story and lore perspective.
  22. Doesn't Kaliyo have the same voice actress as Jack as well?
  23. I guess from an armstech. Yeah, it seems to be a big oversight on the developers part. Scorpio isn't the only companion with this problem.
