  1. I don't think there's some kind of conspiracy. I think the game was just released half-baked.
  2. Except you can (shows damage in the final stat screen), but damage meters wasn't my point for pvp. Please actually read the thread.
  3. You can be in competition with yourself too. Ever try to beat one of your high scores in a game?
  4. I appreciate the assumption, but there'd be no way I could play 7 hours a day between work and my social life. If how much I play is that important to you, I raid once or twice a week for 2-3 hours, but otherwise maybe play an hour a day. Thanks for jumping into the conversation though.
  5. Normal mode still has enrage timers. But the fact that pugs can do ops isn't a valid argument against DPS meters anyway. The counter isn't true.
  6. Your answers are impractical, and a damage meters solves the impracticality. Having to watch potentially 15 other players, watch all of their rotations 100% of the time, while also doing your job, is extremely impractical and I'd dare say impossible to pull off. That's not being a bad leader. It's just stretching yourself too thin with a procedure even used for 1 player is flawed, especially with the current animation bugs in the game.
  7. Except it can change him. If he knows everyone can see his contributions to the raid, then he's going to contribute. If he still doesn't, then the guild can decide what they want to do. If they're casual and they're okay with some people not pulling their weight, then fine. No harm done.
  8. So your alternative to DPS meters is playing babysitter to all the DPS? How are you then doing your job effectively if you're constantly trying to watch animations of other players? Why not turn a tedious job into something simple with a DPS meter? It's not required, but wouldn't it make things SIMPLER?
  9. You miss the point. What if you are not accomplishing the task due to the boss enraging, and lack of DPS and nothing else is the problem?
  10. It's not faulty. Say everyone is doing the encounter "correctly" in the sense that everyone is always where they need to be, healers are as efficient as they need to be, yet the boss keeps enraging wiping the raid. Everyone is visually on cue. It's a perfectly reasonable argument and a common enough situation.
  11. And a lot of those guilds are advocating FOR damage meters. Those top guilds are all number crunchers and mix/maxers, why wouldn't they? I'm not saying I require damage meters. I'm saying it would make the game more enjoyable for me because then I can play competitively, which makes the game more fun.
  12. That's probably the most glaring problem with not having damage meters. If BW is going to put enrage timers on boss (essentially dps checks), why can't we check dps?
  13. The solution isn't for all the people who want combat logs to leave this game en-mass. That would be detrimental to the longevity of this game. That's not what you want, even though you may think it is. (Less money from subscribers = less content updates) That wasn't me
