  1. That is why I mentioned earlier the game would fail. This game is just a WOW-clone in Star Wars theme. The lack of sandbox features would make the game die pretty soon. As a matter of fact, the design of the maps and the way(s) they treat the game world (fragmented/instanced) has already paved its way to failure. This is the case in EQ 2 but EQ 2 got a much larger map than SWTOR. People want interactions! WOW actually somewhat lacks it and people are actually leaving the game. I don't care about the story anymore. The game is boring and the PVP and the Raid(s) are very boring like WOW. The game has its fun but because of the design failure (failing to follow Ultima Online), this game would just die as fast as other wow-clones. Good luck
  2. But this is really one of its unique elements of this game as an MMO. My whole point is that I would like to see there are more sandbox elements to be added to the game. Choosing different options of the dialogue is fun but once you have finished off the story, what things u could do other than Raiding and battelground pvp?
  3. First of all, I am a big fan of Star Wars games... from Dark Force I to other kinds of rubbish Star Wars series like Star Wars Battlefield series. I also used to play SWG for several months since its initial launch. For MMO experience, I've played quite a number of MMO games including Ultima Online, EQ 2, WOW, AION, Rift...etc. Don't get me wrong. This game is great and it has its unique story experience that I have never got in other MMOs in my life. But I always have a question in mind: what can we do after all the dialogue experience? Raiding? To be honest, the PvP experience is even worse than some of its Star Wars old series such as Jedi Academy. I would say games like Jedi Academy even got better maps of PvP and light saber duel. I think BW should put more thoughts to post-story experience for us. Somehow I feel like this game is just another WOW in Star Wars theme with more dialogue choices like Fallout 3. Again, the questing experience is great but if BW would like to make this game last longer, simply sheer raiding and PvP in so-called Battlegrounds like WOW are not enough. Something more and more unique should be there. I think at this moment, it may be a bit unlikely for the game to be "re-designed". Things like "heavy instancing"/sharding are pretty annoying. This really defeats the feel like being in one single world in a map. Also, it lacks "Easter Egg" elements which are pretty fun and quite common in Ultima Online, EQ2, and WOW. I know some of you may disagree with my opinions but having played this game, my first impression is that real audio dialogue is just kinda marketing mimic. It does add better story experience to the game. But as a Jedi, you got your own light saber. You see your light saber stabbing into the wall but it does not leave any burnt mark on the wall while this kinda of visual detail was already in the very old game such as Jedi Academy and even Dark Force 2 (I played Dark Force 2 on a very old PC and at that time I used Voodoo 1 4mb video RAM to play it) . How come the game designer even missed this significant visual detail in the game design? Does BW really think sheer "story" could trump other elements in the MMORPG? I would like to play this game longer. I don't want this to be another Star Trek (yes, I forgot, I also played ST Online for couples of months) even though it looks good so far but to be honest, after most of the players have completed the stories, I seriously doubted if just raiding and battleground-like PvP could keep 50% of the initial population during launch. Something more sandbox and unique should be added in the future patches.
