  1. I used to play Ultima Online and the housing system there was free placement. There were a lot of very creative implementations and I spent a lot of time visiting different homes, trying to get ideas for my own. I never used the hook system before, so I don't have any expectations. The way I see it, is that this is a free addition to the game. It's free. I can't complain about that. Oh and for the record, I am extremely excited for Galactic Strongholds. I think BW has done an awesome job so far!
  2. You beat me to it. I was going to post this exact same thing. SWTOR is not canon. Guess what? That's ok! Are you enjoying the game, having fun, and making friends? If so, then I am of the opinion that you are getting your moneys worth. I would say that if the OP wanted to leave because the game is not canon, then that is their right, but I believe it to be very close minded.
  3. Very impressive. I played UO back in beginning. I played on Atlantic, then moved to Siege Perilous, and finally landed on Catskills. I was the Catskills Shardmaster for the United Blacksmiths of Britannia [uBB]. Theros Ironfeld, at your service!
  4. Echoing Hoshkar here. Find a community to get involved with. It'll make things much easier. As for what to do... when I first hit 55, everyone said HM FPs and Oricon. Cool. Went and attempted both of those. I was in for a rude awakening. I could not make any headway into either of those two areas of the game. Here's what I did: Went to Makeb and played through the planet storyline. Picked up as many planetary comms as I could get and got mods from that planet. That helped prep me for Oricon. I had friends to help me, but they weren't always around; plus I wanted to do something on my own. Don't skip Makeb. Got involved with THE JEDI ORDER Community of Guilds on Begeren Colony and began running early raids. This also helped with the gear issue. Make sure you are doing your daily missions (CZ and Belsavis, possibly Ilum) as well as weekly missions. Once you are at that point, your ultimate goal is to hoard Ultimate Commendations and get your 180 rated gear. If you aren't interested in end game PvE, you can also get HK, complete the Macrobinocular/Seeker droid missions, or even try to complete 100% of achievements for each planet. If you're on Begeren Colony, look me up and I'm more than willing to put you in contact with the good people who helped me. Player name is Atrias - Republic side.
  5. I've been with The JEDI Order for a couple of months now. There really is something for everybody within this community. We currently have three guilds on the Republic side and three on the Empire side. There are "chat channels" created to facilitate cross guild communication. One of my favorite things about the community is the guild ranking up system. You can gain ranks in the guild simply by playing the game and being active within the community. For example, in the JEDI guild, to go from Padawan rank to Knight rank, there's a series of accomplishments that need to be met: Gain 300 in three crew skills, complete certain Flashpoints, defeat world bosses, and where appropriate you can choose between RP or PVP tasks. Once you make a certain rank, you can apply for guild subseat positions. Our community leaders are up for "re-election" every couple of months. This allows people to come in and take a leadership position and contribute to the community for a limited amount of time, while not being in that position long enough to burn out. The subseats are usually geared towards PvE, PvP, and RP. We also have raiding teams. These guys are amazing. They took me in as a fresh 55, advised me on how to gear up, and worked with me to help me learn the fights. We have several PvP teams who are very active, and we hold regular RP events. We just celebrated our 10 year anniversary with a party in Nar Shaddaa which included a fashion show and a parade. Come and check us out. Again, we're on both sides, though JEDI is probably the most active. Feel free to friend me in game and we can talk, or visit our website and look around. My main character is Atrias on the Republic side. While I do have a few alts, I rarely play them. So feel free to look me up. 6. I play on BC as a member of a fairly large guild. We hold weekly gatherings and will often get people trying to ruin the events on a regular basis. What is happening to your guild is quite childish, and sometimes just ignoring the offending players is not enough. One thought though: If all it is going to take is an apology (which was stated in one of the above posts), then why not apologize and get it over with? Just because you apologize doesn't mean you admit guilt. It just means that you are mature enough to recognize a bad situation and take steps to end it.
  7. Just RSVP'd on Facebook. Totally going to be there. Missed the one last time. Awesome!!
  8. I think it's awesome. I get a free pet AND Double XP? Just for playing the game and being a fan? Absolutely! Thanks Bioware!
  9. I would like to know if the Guild Flagships are instanced. If I am on my ship and I look outside, will I be able to see other guild flagships? If I am on the Fleet, can I look outside and see the flagships? I think it would add to the immersion of the game and give that "Star Wars feeling" if I were able to come into orbit around a planet and see other ships out there. I'm part of a fairly large guild community and we have three guilds in each faction. Would be awesome if we could see the other guilds flagships. Oh!! Customization of the Flagships! Can we set paint jobs or add guild crests/decals to the outside of the ship?
  10. Hi Sanctified, thanks for the advice. This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm a fairly casual player, but I like tanking and want to be a good tank when the time comes. I've joined a great guild community, so when the time comes for me to begin running Ops with them, I'd like to be as prepared as possible. Through the Dulfy link noted above, I've got a good idea about how to properly build Focus and when to use certain skills during certain situations (AoE vs. single targets). I wanted to understand my class and role early on so that when I begin to focus on gear, I'll be a leg up on the game. Again, much appreciated! Thank you!
  11. Hi all! I'm going to try and keep this nice and short, to the point, and simple. I'm a level 45 Guardian. Up until now, I've been doing OK as a tank. I seem to be able to hold aggro for the most part, but there are some pain points. That's neither here nor there for the scope of this post. Soon I'll be level 55. My goal is to be a main tank for Operations. I've never done one before. Is there a place that I can go to that will break down for me what I should know? Here's a couple of things that I am looking for: -What should I focus on for gear stats as a new 55? I hear that favoring mitigation over health is a good thing to do. I know what mitigation means, but I don't know how that translates into game stats. -Is there a thread I can read that will provide some guidance on talent points and where to spend them? I suppose I should check out the "Tank" forums huh? I'll head there next. -What about ability/skill rotation and layout? Is there a place I can go that will give me some advice on when to use a skill? Thanks all.
  12. Haven't bought it yet. Will purchase it on Weds when I get paid. If I had the cash, I would have bought it immediately upon release.
  13. Wish I could be there. I am working until 7pm PST. So I will have to see if I can catch you guys when I get home.
  14. Hello and welcome to the server. I've got a Sith Inquisitor that I have reached Alderaan with. I have her specced for healing, so if you need anything, feel free to ask. I don't mind healing some Flashpoints for you or helping with Heroics. Just add Aeoar to your friends list and say hi. I'll add you to mine and say hi if I see you.
