  1. I've said this of you before (on your videos): Your work and website is a treasure to the community. Thanks Swtorista! May the force be with you, always... .
  2. Bumped after holding counsel with other players and rewording the entire article.
  3. A number of friends and I resubscribed to this game, after 5 months away, with the intention to document what was essentially still "Wrong" with TOR. Please, do not misunderstand me on this, this game is THE GAME we have all been waiting for, and would play until it ran out of "a long time ago"s. This is meant to be a constructive criticism, to identify exactly the problems in the game that can be fixed very easily with the correct programming and installed with a content patch, not fixes that require a new box to be sent to your door. To hopefully alleviate, but ultimately reverse the player-base bleeding the game has been suffering. But let me properly start this article with the following statement: "This game, should be the WoW killer". The concept of Star Wars:TOR is too good to let it fall to free-to-play and then obscurity over the next few years. There are only 2 immediate issues that amount to extreme annoyance with the player-base. And both immediate problems or "Deal-breakers" within this game, summount to the fact that combat game-play does not represent a great MMORPG released in 2012. Abilities used within the game are iconic and amazing. But, the system that uses them, is not nearly up to date. And simply cannot provide the polish that other games have because of its infancy. The major problems we have all noticed are these: 1) The combat is too slow. You know what you want to do, and how it needs it to happen- but, there is no fluidity between the moves, because your character is stuck rolling out the full list of burn skills instead of unleashing them as quickly as needed, while on the move. 2) The UI still intrudes on your gameplay, and is easy to navigate, but lacking in cleanliness despite the massive (and massively appreciated) update it saw in an earlier patch. Therefore, my friends and I have disscussed and concluded upon the 3 solutions that follow: 1) All channeled abilities must be capable of being used on the move. Channelled abilities used in a stationary position cast faster. (Because of 1, 1.5 exists) 1.5) A "Ring" should exist around your character THAT ONLY YOU CAN SEE, that lets you know the reach of your MELEE attacks, that is displayed over all other Area Of Effect graphics. Ranged attacks are obvious, but for defence and offensive abilities, knowing your melee range is a must. As we are currently aware, all classes have the same melee reach, so this is not game breaking design. And while ranged already have a distance buffer, we would like to see that increase with more fluid motion in the form described in "1". forcing players to be more decisive in their decision making. 2) The all important UI interface must be made even more customizable. And preferably less graphic. It would be fantastic if this were done by the companies currently in charge, but the most permanant fix is to open up the game to "the dreaded' Addons. And while some players will dissagree, saying this creates instability between player capability. The point of all UI is to feel comfortable while you play, so if the game already offers this to you, then that is FANTASTIC. But, what about for the people that it doesn't cater for? Say what you will, but our diliberations have agreed. That more options- is the better option, when sorting out your options. These are some very simple things to do. Though making ADDONS available is serious business, so we agree that decision should not be taken lightly, because it is ALWAYS more preferable to have the developer do the work. But, money is the issue here, and we want all companies involved to make A LOT OF IT. So that they can continue to hire great staff, voice actors, content, pixels, *cough*JaesaWillsaamLightSideRomance*cough*, to create content to further soothe our all-consuming nerdouting minds. Stuff like: Special world events where the first guild/player to complete a challenge has their characters/guild-name cemented in Star Wars Canon history written as having accomplished/defeated said challenge. World Faction Events across all servers that determine the direction of the war. Also written into official Canon history. Matching gear to any piece armour equipped. <insert your Star Wars brain-froth here> In any case, please, show your support, even if these aren't 100% exactly your idea of a brilliant time, help keep the game active and don't stop suggesting. Regards, Kitsu.
