  1. It generally takes a long time, 3-6 weeks maybe.
  2. 5 years ago maybe. THis game won't see another 5.
  3. A part of me hopes this game goes from strength to strength, and another part of me wants this to die so we can have other Star Wars games, or even a better MMORPG with Frostbite engine and improvements on what they've learned from this one. There'll always be a playerbase for a SW game and if they properly implemented and polished the MMO elements this time around they could have something that would keep them busy for a long time. I've enjoyed SWTOR but I've been appreciating more and more elements from other MMOS which I wish existed in SWTOR. Unfortunately, those other MMOs aren't featured in a Galaxy Far Far Away.
  4. That was the highlight of the film for me. Outside SW Rebels you rarely see him fight so that was totally epic. My jaw dropped lol. I hope he gets a stand alone movie in the coming years...between Ep IV and V would be good.
  5. Very sad news indeed. Played one of the most iconic characters in movie history. RIP.
  6. Closed BETA and CE owner here. Haven't consistently played SWTOR for a long time though - haven't been at endgame since I played on Hydian Way but have stayed subbed throughout.
  7. A new and improved modern Star Wars MMO would also be an incredible financial success.
  8. For the first time with this game, my sub has finished. I long for a great Star Wars game with a persistent universe. This used to be it - it's not anymore.
  9. Same here and almost always if not always on a taxi.
  10. Been subbed since BETA and that ain't going to change anytime soon
  11. Thanks Alec. I'll continue to support your cause in your own thread.
  12. I care not so much for what they're showing in the movies but rather what I hope to see is the implementation of more traditional robes like the one Master Kavar wore in KOTOR II http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/af189/photobucket414/Master%20Kavar_zpsl4bxwsgn.png and maybe have Jedi options like http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/af189/photobucket414/KOTOR%20II_zpsdhj4i63f.png. There could be some great Sith options too like http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/af189/photobucket414/Sith%20options_zpsjkqdogzt.png. The only similarity I've managed thus far in game is http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/af189/photobucket414/Similar%201_zpsltvjup1a.jpg which I still like but I believe it could be even better with said additions and I'm sure the CM market would benefit from such armors. If Bioware weren't responsible for these robes in the first place I'd be more inclined to understand, but surely they can see that such a robe would be a hit in SWTOR, and they could remodel it/tweak it plenty of times (since they like doing that kind of thing.) I'll keep my fingers crossed.
  13. Dear fellow SWTOR fans, I apologise if this has been discussed a thousand times already but I wanted to discuss the need, imo, for more adaptive armor options for the medium/light armor wearers. I'd like to state that there are some viable options, particularly for the dark side, but I think it's the Heavy Armor options that make your character look great. What I hope to see is the implementation of more traditional robes like the one Master Kavar wore in KOTOR II http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/af189/photobucket414/Master%20Kavar_zpsl4bxwsgn.png and maybe have Jedi options like http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/af189/photobucket414/KOTOR%20II_zpsdhj4i63f.png. The only similarity I've managed thus far in game is http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/af189/photobucket414/Similar%202_zpsl7mgboxq.jpg and http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/af189/photobucket414/Similar%201_zpsltvjup1a.jpg which I still like but I believe it could be even better with said additions and I'm sure the CM market would benefit from such armors. Please voice your opinions in support or against the additions. Thanks for reading.
  14. Guardian - Death from above except instead of rockets the animation would be debris from the ceiling and if you're outside it would be birds you've pulled down from the sky.
  15. Oh man, been back 15 days and I did not know this. lol
  16. This ^^. Plus, if you haven't experienced the Agent story then it is well worth your time I promise you.
  17. Well I played both and hardly consider them old school, but maybe that says more about my age than the relevance of your comparison. Whilst I understand what you're saying and agree to a large extent, wishing for one game to be like another will not make it so. Somewhere along the lines, and it wouldn't have been from my feedback I've provided perosnally, MMO devs have moved away from that depth of specializing and it is a shame. It is possible for a sage to not be a healer or to be one, hence favouring a speciality. As to the degree of specializing available, well that's a different context entirely.
  18. That's why I had such hopes for ESO. I love the IP but Zos have made some crucial errors in delivery. The whole dupe thing that last for weeks instead of hours. The lack of balance and how they nerf class skills/passives when it is indeed the armor passives that are the real problem, and eveil VR grind that totally killed it for me as an immersive verse. 1-50 was great (not a scratch on SWTOR story telling though) and VR1-12 had nothing to do with my prior experiences. By the time I got my DK/NB to VR12 I didn't care anymore. I was part of a PvP competitive guild that actively sought out/discussed with other like minded EU guilds from past MMOs before choosing a campaign and sooooooooooooooo many of those guys left within 6 weeks. The MMO crowd are indded a fickle bunch and perhaps I'm as much to blame as anyone - constantly seeking the holy grail. It's why I'm back in SWTOR and I plan to stay. The IP here is so much worth it, warts and all.
  19. I think the Holy Trinity still exists in more modern MMOs. Sure, you have the crazy fest like GW2 where Dungeons are just in the ridiculous as far as PvE group mechanics go, or ESO/Wildstar where, perhaps not to the same extent as SWTOR, still has a prevalent Holy Trinity system, whether they'd admit it or not. As for SWTOR, I've always been under the impression that it is totally possible to specialise into healing and tanking is it not? Perhaps there are skills that you wish would be available from other games in the TOR verse but that's another issue entirely. I believe that at the highest standards required at endgame that these specialities are encouraged and optimum even if there are some very good hybrid builds out there that can bring more to a well oiled machine with the best available gear. Please don't think I'm objecting to any remarks you've made in your OP, but I do feel that for those who want to specialise, it's optimum to do so. Variety is good nevertheless.
  20. Tank + Treek = Solo H4s on level no problem.
  21. Have to agree. Tried some other MMOs myself over the past 18 months but true to form, the grass ain't greener.
  22. I was very much tongue in cheek. Personally, I'd love a ME MMO instead of all this fantasy saturation but I know that a lot of people wouldn't and I agree that I doubt Bioware/EA would go that route again, at least not whilst SWTOR is up and running.
