  1. I have to admit I chuckle to myself watching the responses to criticism of the game. It is so reminiscent of the sycophants in the WoW forums after the launch of Cataclysm as they lost over 500k subscriptions due to the increased difficulty, etc. As much as those who love this game want to attest to how wonderful it is, those that are dissatisfied also have their own view. It doesn't make either view more right, but to be honest, don't discount those that are willing to take time out of their day and express their concerns/criticism with the game. Yes, more people play the game than post on the forums. We are all people though and a certain percentage of those who did pick up the game (but never visited the forums) also probably feel similarly as those who openly criticize the game. It will be interesting to see how Bioware spins the numbers after the free month is up. Did we ever get a hard and fast number of how many copies of the game were sold? I don't think the first month numbers will actually tell that much. What will be more interesting is 3 months out. All of the effort put into the first 25+ levels will keep people rolling alts for a bit, but at the 3 month mark, we'll have a real feel for what the consumer thinks of the game. What will also be interesting is to see where the game is in 6 months. Will there be another free content patch? Or will it be junk/meager DLCesque pickings as with Mass Effect or Dragon Age?
  2. What a horrible waste of time. I only queued because I received a quest to do them. If this is what PvP is like in this game, I want no part in it. Trash, pure and simple. Level 50s running around against people leveling. I thought WoW PvP was bad. There's one segment of this game that is dead to me. Oh, and really cool.. jedi and sith everywhere. Awesome. Gotta love force powers everywhere. Junk.
  3. I glanced through the forums and didn't find anything obvious, are there any good scoundrel resources out there that can assist me with rotation? Right now, I'm level 15 and to be honest, I really don't feel that overpowered and I am tired of either having me and my pet dying to elite mobs of (approximate) equal level. I can only assume my rotation is horribly wrong. What is the ideal rotation out there for lower level scoundrels? I have to say I am getting tired of Corso pulling mobs to me, but glancing at some of the other posts, apparently scoundrels are a melee class and I am supposed to hit people more than shoot them? Can anyone point me towards a good resource for understanding my sub-class mechanics, spec and ideal rotation? I don't know what is the elitistjerks site of SWTOR.
  4. What happened to the posts from the first couple of days of the early access period? I had a post going in regards to finding friends from SWG and now when I look at my post history, I can't find anything? Where did the posts go? Where did that sub-forum go?
  5. Wow! It's awesome to see so many familiar names. It has been so long. Shame we're all on different servers, probably playing different factions. It is a shame SWG ended up the way it did. Anyone still have an active account and going to be online for the final shutdown for SWG? I assume they are going to have an event of some sort. I was going to reactivate my account, but missed the September 15th deadline to have your account "in good standing" to be eligible. I hope everyone has a blast with SWTOR. WoW just never felt the same as SWG. Still on the fence about SWTOR, but I'm already at level 10 waiting for Odasal to catch up. Really need to dig out the names of some of the people I used to play with. Anyone have any updates about where people ended up? I probably won't remember any of the names, but stories might refresh my memory.
  6. Some old YouTube videos that Dathara and crew used to put out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCnCznSmYxA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDsmCQhUxCk (No sound) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djiM0pROfBE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKEMbnTXaUw
  7. Must dig out old screenshots to remember names... Where's my old IDE hard drives.
  8. I have his Yahoo e-mail address, but the few times I've tried to reach out to him, he hasn't responded. Dunno if it is still his valid address since it has been 5+ years. Update: I sent him an email. Let's see if he responds. I referenced this post.
  9. Awesome. I feel like I may have missed the boat somewhat. I search on Google for Kettemoor and SWG and all the links on these forums are busted, so I can't see what other people have said. Wow, can't believe that it has been so long since playing SWG. I remember Dathora with all of her music videos. I still have some of them lying around, but I don't want to upload them to YouTube and get the muted because of the music tracks and copyright infringement. I remember fondly the days of meandering about watching the awesome entertainer community we used to have. It is a shame SWTOR chose to not implement those features. So many people I want to give shout outs for, but I can't recall their names. My main on Kettemoor was Elari. I remember fondly playing with a nice couple from Canada, one who was a wood worker and his wife. I remember SurfPro (who became a jedi in like two weeks - insane). I remember Odasal and Callisto Orion. Ah the good days, before WoW.. err, I mean the dark times. ;-)
  10. Where are all my Kettemoor peeps from pre-CU days? Looking at you Surf City dwellers!!
